Wilshere should go from 82 overall up to 85-86.

Bale from 85 to 89-90, you'd think. And Heskey will become a Bronze player.

Example? I thought they're generally pretty good, apart from old players

They seem to rate players based on how good they were before and not how good they are right now.

Haven't played FIFA for 6 months so I can't remember too much but a quick google search says Torres is 82 and Carroll 79, which is bullshit.

So there's this thing called squad updates.

Includes attribute alterations.

Torres is an 85 and Carroll is a 78.

I actually think EA tend to be a bit hit and miss with players, for example Ferdinand should be nowhere near an 83 when guys like Vertonghen and Howedes have overalls of 81. Similar case with quite a few Rovers players, heavily overrated because the ratings have been done on player reputation rather than on performance.

You have to remember that the ratings are done mid year before release. Ferdinand and Terry were both 86 in FIFA 12, but the ratings were done mid 2011.

I think the ratings in general were scaled back in FIFA 13, which is good. Too many players were ranked between 83-88 before this year's edition.

I'd like to see changeable rankings in online pro seasons. There's no reason why stats and ratings can't be adjusted during the season to reflect the true vale of players.

EDIT: Also, LMAO @ Wilshere being rated over 85.

I have so many suggestions to improve Career Mode (my favourite game mode). But they would probably fall on deaf ears here unfortunately.

Anyway one thing I found interesting about the screenshots of the new FIFA 14 career mode released a couple of months ago. EA are pushing this new season-long global scouting thing, which I reckon is great. Much more like FM in the fact that you have to actually research a player before you enquire/transfer them. Because currently it seems like I'm just trying to fast-forward through all the games to get to the transfer window again.

But I'm not yet sure about the hidden attributes. For instance look at the picture of Gabriel Obertan's stats on the right, obviously this isn't the first stage of scouting him either as it says "Updated".

That's all well and good that we don't know his stats and there is a degree of variability (almost like scouting youth). But couldn't you just go to Futhead or the Ultimate Team marketplace and find out his exact stats straight away without wasting time scouting? I figure this would work for probably the first two seasons, before increasing/decreasing stats and potential come into play, but it just seems silly that the answers could be there without doing any work. Maybe UT could be getting a change?

At least the new user interface looks really slick.

Cavani and Ibra on the same team.

Online seasons just got fun.

Will the differences between new gen and current gen be significant?
It's hard to know really. Right now most of the features being touted seem to be getting pushed for the next-gen engine and not for the current gen one.

At the very least expect the next-gen version to be mostly superior in every area.

Have to wait for gameplay to really know though, which has been scarce at best.
