So it all started to build up from grinding a heap of the game and also having great pack luck.

Yesterday I got OTW Upamencano from a tradeable pack, and then IF Gabriel Jesus twice from gold upgrades.

While all this was going on I was doing a bunch of investing too. When Renato was extinct i bought 7 of him for 27k, and as soon as his price range was updated i sold all of them for 45-50k before he dropped down to 20k lol. Done a bunch of other quick turnovers like with totw players. Got a few Barellas for 6k, sold for 13k yesterday.

I did lose on some investments tho as well so its not all wins for me. I put 35k into Malen at 2.6k and he dropped to 1.3k when his otw came out.

So yeah basically a combo of good pack luck and trading hard in the first week to make easy profit, plus I bought my team doing the market crash yesterday when they were cheapest.

Still got like 40 Icardis at 900 coins that should rise, and also a bunch of silver totws for 12k that should go extinct at 30k soon.

If that sbc Anderson Talisca doesn't get to at least 88 rated I'll be shocked. His team dominates the Saudi League and he's the best player for them and is scoring like crazy. Nice card too, chuck him in a Brazilian squad.
 
Is there another thread to discuss gameplay?

I’m coming from FIFA 20 and really not enjoying it. I think my biggest grievance is the inability to defend. Jockeying and fronting up your opponent has been completely taken out of the game. Even worse, when sprinting shoulder-to-shoulder with the player in possession, there is no way to disrupt them. The tug back is useless and the famous ‘stop and lunge’ is even more prominent.

I know things always seem bad when you first get the game…but I think this is too much for me.

Play some friendlies to get the hang of it.

No issue with defending here, better than last year IMO.

Not sure what game mode you’re playing, but if it’s Rivals they’ve forced manual jockeying in all the competitive online modes.

Yeah I’m fine with operating the manual jockeying…it’s just not effective. I’m belting opponents 5-1 but still noticing that my defenders (and theirs) have very little impact.

If anyone wants FIFA 22 for PS4, let me know. It’s going in the bin.

It's only on wide release for a day mate, best to wait for the inevitable patch that will fix that problem but nerf one of the things you enjoy.
 
Played the last few FIFAs pretty casually just in career modes and pro clubs and stuff after simply just getting over it and was expecting more from this one. Was keen to get 22 and smashed FUT almost this entire weekend. Once the first 5 minutes passed and the new toy smell wears off it's still the same arcadey kind of experience as before. Still getting frustrated at the same things as previous years. Not sure what exactly what I was expecting, but just something a little different I guess being the first for the new generation and the hype around hypermotion and stuff.
 
Game feels way too dead, otw has been one of the worst promos over the past few years, most cards are useless.

give us a draft token sbc or objective, some more incentive to actually play rivals which is like playing 21, just for your enjoyment of the gameplay really.

Yeah, we need some sbcs, upgrade packs, player picks, whatever. Andre Silva and Talisca just aren't it even though I did them and I kinda like them. Kluivert objective is good, much rather grind in squad battles, much easier than friendlies like for Camavinga.
 
Up to Div 3 now and I can't believe how many people with 2 million coin teams there are, meanwhile I'm out here with a 100k Serie A team, and also not getting any rewards when you get promoted is kinda annoying.

I do like the new FUT Champions a lot more though, fitting 30 games into the weekend was often pretty difficult so 20 should be much nicer.

And winning 8 out of 20 I think gets you similar rewards to gold 3 so that will be good. Almost at the 1500 points. Feel I'm going to choke in the play off's haha

When I did the playoffs the people I was playing were worse than the ones I was facing in Div 4 at the time.
 
Finally figured out a striker combination which works for me. Packed Lukaku which was massive for me and he compliments Werner so well. Then this morning packed Ziyech and Grealish OTW who have both been great for me. Played 10 games or so this arvo and won 8, drew 2. Getting more used to the gameplay now. Have a lot of untradable fodder so hoping for a big player of the month or something to come out because Anderson Talisca isn't that appealing.

This is what I'm playing with at the moment (In game I go Lukaku and Werner up top, Foden CAM and Goretzka CDM)

Pretty convinced it’s got the usual FIFA script feeling still. Had it where I felt unstoppable and had it where my opponent felt unstoppable. Infuriating when you’re on the receiving end.
 
The flashback Pedro is so ****ing insane. I was tentative to do the sbc at first because it didn't look like great value, I only did it because I'm rocking a serie a team and because he's Spanish, I could move towards a La Liga left side and open up more options.

But WOW, he's so good. 1st game in rivals, 6 attempts, 5 goals, 4 of which outside the box from the CAM position. He just suits the games meta so well, his finesses are ridiculous and his left stick dribbling is first class.

He has 98 acceleration but only 77 sprint speed but you don't notice it at all, he feels rapid in game and he's incredible across the board. The 5 star weak foot is massive and makes him unstoppable.

Do the sbc. Just do it.

Did a few of those 78+ upgrade packs and was able to pull Rashford OTW's Locatelli, Saul and Delaney. Good chance those three get some good upgrades throughout the year. Not bad mini haul for 20 common golds.

Edit: just saw Locatelli got an TOTW this week. Bonus.

Pretty good rivals rewards.

Need to decide now whether to keep him or sell, I’m leaning towards selling as I wouldn’t be able to afford any of the other good Ligue 1 players anyway and I’d be able to get IF Barella + either hero Cordoba or a sub 800k icon ST/CAM.

Sold Messi and bought IF Barella + Stoichkov, going to go with this lineup for the first weekend league (switching to 3-5-2 ingame).

nice team dude, got a serie a team as well. just wondering, are you gonna do the POTM Koulibaly? It's a beast card but it's like 150k+ to do and the gold is only like -2 in every stat for 130k less. im thinking of doing it but i'm probably better off getting the gold card
