I don't think there's much conspiring involved, Portugal had some outside noise going on, and a huge Mo'rockin crowd to boot.. reminds of when Greece beat them in the Euro's, Charisteas!!!

Ronaldo did sweet fa that day too.

People still looking to Hedge 101/1 , And why Pinnacle is still a Bookmaking World leader

I'm wanting to hedge my France to win the WC bets, I’ve got multiple bets at an average of 7.5 odds totalling $4750. Currently the lay on Betfair is 2.2. Just wondering if it's smarter to lay it now or wait for the result of Argentina v Croatia first? I suspect that if Argentina win, the lay odds on France will go up to circa 2.5-2.7 given Argentina will be locked into the final whereas France will still have to beat Morocco. I doubt the odds will change all that much if Croatia wins. Any thoughts?

All those potential price shifts are factored in to the current price and probabilities of outcomes of the lead up games you mention

The key principle when hedging is the same as when punting - do you think the market has the price wrong? If so, ensure your hedge bets exploit the overs.

If you think the market is about right, then there is probably no point in hedging, (as you are just exposing yourself to another round of vig) but if you must because the amount of money at stake is quite high, then whether you do it now or do it tomorrow is no different than simply having a bet/gamble on the outcome of tonight's game.

Damnit accidentally deleted my post instead of editing..

And thanks, that’s a good way of looking at it. I think the market is pretty spot on, maybe a little overconfident on France winning it all. I’m not as confident and the $ is way more than I should be risking.

I think Argentina wins this game, but I’m not too confident on any bets for tonight so just taking the Bet365 Mega Boost. My max was $80.

Was hoping to get a better price on Croatia in the match odds but Ill give that price a pass on match odds. ($5.20 or so)

on Each Team 2+ Corners Each Half and Each team Shots on Target Each half which i got earlier in the week at $81(its come in a bit $67)

FanDuel US Sportsbook have that same market priced at $101 at the time of writing.

I managed to jump on the Argentina train with Betr and have happily ridden through the tournament.

What's the best play here to lock in profit here gents? Lay France as Tournament winners now or wait for tonight's game?

Assume you mean back France.

It will cost you less (for whatever outcome you want) to back France to win the tournament now than after tonight's game. Maybe not much, but it will be less.

Of course that money is down the toilet if Morocco win, but your original ARG bet will be safer.
