Founded in 2003, in the Sweet F.A's 3rd season, Captain/Coach rfctigerarmy created a club initially for Richmond supporters only; ""I hadn't played in the league or Fantasy Footy before but I did have a look and thought it would be fantastic if the Richmond board could have their own side. As you can see in the first season we played, not many teams were purely based from a supporter base - most were a combination of players. In a lot of ways we are what we want the Richmond Footy Club to be - a finals regular and never without a chance."

The clubs first beginnings were difficult, finishing last due to poor form and continual points penalties throughout the season. A 9th placed finish the following year, and agonisingly just missing out on a finals campaign would be the last of the Furies bottom dwelling seasons for some time. In Season 5, the club would historically win its first premiership after a drawn grand final against the Alberton Swamprats was replayed. Seasons 5 to 11 marked a period of extreme success, including the "Furious Dynasty" of back to back Premierships in Seasons 10 and 11. The club made 5 grand finals in a six season stretch, for a total of four premierships, cementing the Fighting Furies status as one of the most celebrated clubs in Qooty history.

After a tough period at the bottom of the table for a few seasons, the Furies would remove its Richmond only recruitment limits and resurge in Seasons 15 & 16 to contest both Grand Finals, sadly, not victoriously. Another loss in Season 18 against the Demons was painful for the team until the Furies got their fifth and final premiership success, and revenge against the Demons in Season 20. Following a furious storm home to finals before a first round loss in Season 21, the Furies finished 9th in Season 22, just missing out on Finals and beginning a period of transition for the club in both playing group and leadership to ensure the Furies are a premium premiership threat in Season 23.

Season 3

The Fighting Furies join the League.

Untitled.png

AN imagined mock up of the basic guernsey of the Fighting Furies Fantasy Football Club, strongly connected to it's Richmond counterpart, the team entered the Sweet F.A after it's first two seasons, marking a historic start for the third oldest Qooty club in existence.

A thrilling first game led from the front by founding captain/coach and midfielder rfctigerarmy , and subsequent victory away against the Junkyard dogs was an optimistic beginning, sadly however, the Furies would endure a terrible first year in the League, 5 of their 7 wins coming in the first 6 rounds, finishing last at the end of the home and away season and missing their first opportunity at Finals.

The entire season was not a complete loss, the beginnings of a dynasty were slowly starting to emerge, the captain was ever present in the middle, whilst stars rose from the Furies young list in mighty tiges who finished 8th in the then non named Alf Andrews Medal, and nut who had a league high amount of tackles (34) and also finished 3rd in overall kicks. CJH came 6th in the Hitouts with 204, whilst unfortunately, Furies defender Coughlan24 gave out the most frees in the game at 60 over the season.

A mid season slump of 4 losses in a row was devastating to the Furies finals chances, and the few remaining wins grinded out between back to back losses eventually playing fickle on dwindling first year premiership aspirations. A penalty rule not applied to all teams equally cost the Furies a maiden wooden spoon, causing an outraged response from Captain rfcta. With finals finally out of the question after two consecutive losses in the final round, awards were handed out with midfielder Doug Thomas winning the first rfctigerarmy award and Mighty Tiges leading the goal kicking. the Fighting Furies were looking optimistically ahead to bettering the playing list and building for a better season next year.

Season 4

Furies miss out on Finals in 9th.

2_64920015.jpg

Club Captain rfctigerarmy won the Season 4 Best and Fairest, the midfielder also finished 6th in Mobbs Medal votes with 16, and was one of three Furies elected to the All - SFA team that year.

Ready to improve upon their first test of the Sweet F.A waters, the Fighting Furies maintained the majority of their list from last season, only adding a few new faces to boost the centreline in tough competitors Mog Metallichris, RichmondFan #1 . The first match of the season was against the newly formed Alberton Swamprats, who would beat the Furies in a thriller. This would signal the beginning of a terrible start to the season for the club from Punt Road, losing 5 out of their first 7 games and in a disorganised shambles by the time the Round 8 bye came around.

The week's rest came at precisely the right time for team, and three straight victories would bring them back into finals contention roughly halfway through the season. A 5 game losing streak would ruin all the improvement from a faulty start, and cast the Furies back behind the chasing pack for the last few finals spots up for grabs. Two thirds through the season, momentum changed quickly again, the Furies picking up 4 wins and a draw against the Junkyard Dogs to give them a glimmer of hope with three games to go. Sitting one spot out of the top eight, the Titans would have to lose as the Furies won to ensure a special first finals campaign. The Furies won 1 out of 3 games, defeating the Blues Brothers and losing to the Gumbies and Bombers to finish in 9th spot, again, just missing out on the chance for ultimate glory.

In a disappointing year, some individual players excelled where the team did not, none more so than captain rfctigerarmy who was a shining light for the club the entire year, finishing an equal club first (16) in the Mobbs with peejay and registering 5th overall in handballs for the season to go along with ALL SFA selection. Midfielder Rodan 18 was also prominent in end of season statistical categories, and earned a spot in the ALL SFA team on the interchange, finishing 3rd in Tackles (34) and 5th in Kicks (228). Khan won the Goldenboot with 52 goals, the 13th most goals scored in the competition, whilst GhostOfJimJess took over the ruck role from CJH and managed to end up 8th best in total hitouts. Kretchy also had a great year for the team, finishing 2nd at the Furies in Kicks (220), Tackles (33) and Goals (42). One of the best backmen in the competition Fwoy , also received ALL SFA acknowledgement at half back, taking over 100 marks and kicks during the season whilst drawing 64 Free Kicks (7th in the League). A team now containing some recognised stars combined with constant new recruiting from the Richmond board, next season was looking promising for the Furies.

Season 5

Furies first finals, Furies first Premiership.

resizeseason5.jpg
The Furies celebrate their first Premiership glory in Season 5, 3 years after the club entered the competition. Pictured, Premiership Captain rfctigerarmy lifted up by Deestroy Medal winner CJH and young midfielder sante on the historic day. the Captain/Coach quickly changed into a formal suit after the game to deliver the Furies victory speech.

JUST missing out on Finals last season would provide the right fuel to turn a talented young team into constant title challengers. Boosted by the arrival of a young sante , and midfielder jackson_rules, the Furies would have huge expectations for their third season, hoping to make a long awaited finals appearance. Two losses in a row would be a set back, but a 5 game win streak from Round 8 to 12 would see them enter top 4 calculations. Splitting the next 10 rounds 5 a piece, the Furies finished in 5th and would have to hold a perfect record in finals to lift the ultimate silverware.

It was a highly successful season as a team, but some key players stood out throughout the season to have fantastic individual years. Beaver's army and Full Forward itsintheblood were the Furies best pollers in the Mobbs, registering 14 a piece. The Furies Full Forward would kick 111 goals for the season (93 in Regular, 2nd in AlfAndrews Medal) and finish 8th in the League for marks to cap a stellar year which received ALL SFA recognition. Vice Captain Kretchy would finish 4th in marks whilst elite ruckman CJH would finish 2nd in hitouts with 338. Weaver also gained an ALL SFA Half Forward spot with 30 handy goals from the pocket.

Heading into Finals, the Furies stepped up their game to another level to win two close, low scoring affairs against the Demons and Dragons. With a Grand Final appearance booked, the coach/captain of the Furies could scarcely believe his team's performance. Leading into the game the potential loss of important defender Metalichris was a huge headline, but thankfully for the team he was available for the fight against the Swamprats. An agonising first ever Grand Final draw was replayed a week later to the greatest success in the Furies short time in the league; a Premiership. Furies ruckman CJH would win Best on Ground in a historic day for the club that marked the beginning of bigger and better things in the Furies future.

Season 6

Top four Furies just miss out on Grand Final return.
STRAIGHSTETSS.jpg

The Furies would sadly lose in straight sets to the Swamprats and Bears in their best ever regular season performance yet. Led by first year Fury sante and rfctigerarmy as support, the Furies would narrowly miss out on top spot with one points penalty, boasting an equal season best Win/Loss record.

The Furies quality was undoubtable heading into their season to achieve the momentous back to back. Boosted by signings Punt_Road_Roar and Harvey Leadpipe, the Furies would start the year strong winning their first four games. By Round 13 they had notched an impressive nine wins. Around top spot for the majority of the final stretch of the season, 4 losses in the last four games would see the Furies finish poorly before a thumping against the Demons to set them up for their second finals campaign.

The first Furies team to finish top four was the most quality laden team yet, and the superstars shone in the Furies potent attacking group, Kretchy winning the AlfAndrews Medal with 65 regular season goals and 391 marks (3rd most for season). sante also notched an impressive 43 captains goals from the midfield to finish 19th in the League, performing his midfield duties too with the 3rd most tackles in the season (160).

Furies champion ruckman CJH placed 2nd in hitouts with 345 and 4th in marks with 382, capping off another strong year in the ruck. Midfielders True Thylacine and jackson_rules battled for 7th and 8th respectively in the leagues hand balling table (271 and 269). Furies champion half back managed 131 marks for 10th best in the League, whilst rfctigerarmy himself gave out the 3rd (151) most free kicks in the league, Metalichris, Furies Best and Fairest was the most illegally impeded player with 188 free's for (1st in the league). The usual full back men changed to midfield in some parts of the year to register the teams best Mobbs votes tally with 11.

Approaching their opportunity the Furies looked primed to seriously challenge for the first back to back premiership in Sweet F.A history, but an ill omen of media from Punt Road complaining about referees during the season was perhaps a sign of where the team mentalities was. The Furies would try incredibly hard to win, but unluckily fell to the Swamprats by less than two goals after an inaccurate 4th quarter. A week later the Furies would be eliminated in two consecutive losses after a narrow nine point loss to the Las Vegas Bears. With a finals campaign to be reflected upon woefully during the off season, the Furies would tweak their list the small amount it needed to become a true finals threat.

Season 7

Furies first finish as Minor Premiers ends in Grand Final heartbreak.
MINORPREMIERS.jpg

A new Captain taking on the job from young sante mid way through the season, TLFUA-Tiger led the Furies to their first ever Minor Premiership, before an exhilarating finals campaign led to a shattering exit once more in the finals on the biggest of all stages.

THE Furies were recognised as a team in the elite tier of competition, two years removed from a flag the team was still very much at the peak of their powers, some new signings added depth and the Furies were confident of managing top spot. Practise matches against the Swamprats, Wonders and Sharks resulted in good wins, and a draw against the AFL All - Stars would allow the new players like Wally Matera, tugga, hougie and future Best and Fairest winner Clieshy to get a feel of the current team. The Fighting Furies split the two pre season cup games one win one loss, but did not progress to finals.

When the regular season did start however, the early indicators of a competitive side proved precisely accurate, winning 4 out of the first 5 games to consolidate on last years efforts. Splitting the next 6 games 3 results each way, the furies were well placed with 8 wins and 4 losses to quietly assume top spot. That particular run of games also saw 3 MOTR rankings awarded to Furies matches, and a close MOTR encounter with the Dragons whom have been rivals of the Furies ever since the extremely tense Preliminary Final in the Furies winning S5 year.

During mid season, disaster struck as club captain sante 's ability to communicate with the League was cut off, thankfully TLFUA-Tiger volunteered to step up in his place. Any possible problems after such an unexpected circumstance we're nowhere to be seen as another 4 game win streak would see the Furies leave the pack and claim top spot outright, however losing 3 out of 4 games before the final match of the season meant Round 22 was a make or break game for the Minor Premiership. A MOTR worthy 3 point victory against another rival since season 5, the Swamprats, meant the Furies finished created history once again finishing on top of the Sweet F.A ladder.

The Furies were a consistent threat to top spot, as evident by featuring nine times in MOTR, and in very much a team orientated side, with no one player featuring in the top 10 for any League stat, although rfctigermedal Army was often the first Fury name on the league high list, in kicks (Coughlan, 38th), handballs (Coughlan, 20th) but not marks (Punt_Road_Roar, 28th). New rookie forward tugga proved his elite traits finishing 3rd in the Alf, with 51 goals. Khan and sante shared 27th spot with 25 a piece. Captain TFLUA - Tiger and veteran peejay shared the load in the ruck, finishing with 61 (13) and 71 (12) hitouts respectively. Kretchy won the most frees on the team with 40 (21st in League) whilst also topping the Furies tackling table on 88 (14th), sante with 77 close in 23rd place. Coughlan also polled the best of any Fury in the Mobbs with 16, whilst midfielder beaver's army followed on from his 14 votes in Season 5 with 11 in this year's count.

Anxious to out do last years efforts, the finals aspirations of the Furies hit a major speed bump in the Qualifying Final as the Bombers knocked them flat. Determined not to go out in straight sets, the team would bounce back to defeat the Hawks, and the Roys to book in their 2nd Grand Final appearance in five years and 2nd out of three finals appearances. A rematch against the Bombers would go down to the wire in a high scoring game, with the final result in favour of the BigFooty Bombers by 6 points. The Furies would leave the season empty handed but added another chapter to a decorated history.

Season 8

Premiers again, the dominant era continues.
67premiership.jpg

THE Furies Season 8 Premiership Squad, led by TLFUA-Tiger until a switch up halfway through the year saw hougie take charge were a powerhouse from Round 1, emerging as one of the teams to back come finals time and proving their premiership quality true.

AFTER losing the Grand Final last season, the Furies were confident and eager to take the advantage every new season brings, using the empty handed off season as motivation to return better. Announcing their first new signing, former Koalas captain and Gumbies player rota69, in the first Pre Season tournament, the Furies managed to get revenge on last seasons Premiers, before a close loss against the inter-league team Delicious Stupidity, followed by another three losses in round 3, rivalry round and the final round to miss out on finals. In the second Pre Season cup, the team fared much better, beating the Demons and Roys to set up an final encounter against the Wonders only to go down in an absolute thriller.

Once the real season started, the Furies would switch into another gear picking up 6 wins from the first 8 matchs, including two close MOTR encounters split one apiece. Another two close games resulted in victory against the Dragons and a loss to the Roys, before the Furies would get a chance for revenge again on last seasons premiers, and did so in convincing fashion, managing to clinch first on the ladder with the percentage boost. In a brilliant position for the second half of the year, the Furies were rocked by 3 straight losses in the 3 MOTR's from Round 10 - 12. Following 3 wins, the Furies camp was rocked by news of current captain TLFUA-Tiger stepping down effective immediately, luckily for the club there was a ready made replacement in rover and occasional forward hougie. Instead of an expected capitulation the Furies would win their next 4 games to make it 7 straight in the lead up to finals, and ensure top four placing. An amazingly close 2 point loss to Dragons would mean Furies miss out on top spot on the ladder, due to a 1 point penalty.

The Furies had plenty of standout players over another fantastic year. LondonTiger finished 6th place with 10 votes at Mobbs night to also take home the rfctigerarmy medal later in the award season. He was joined by fellow midfielder beaver's army in the top polling positions with 11 votes in equal 5th place, a feat the Furies homegrown star had accomplished already in his short career. Future captain PHX would tally 6th votes in his first year of Vice Captaincy.

Entering the Finals, the Furies looked ready to go one step further than last years misery. The news of even a late potential slip up in outgoing captain TLFUA's preparation plans did not phase the team, downing the Gumbies at home in the first round. A close 13 point loss to the top placed Hawks away in the Semi would see the Geelong team return to Punt Road for a rematch and another thrilling Furies victory. In a series of doubles, the Furies would play the Hawks again, away as well, this time emerging victors in the game that mattered. Mobbs top poller beaver's army picked up the Deestroy, continuing his good form and the Furies had their 2nd Premiership in 4 years of Finals appearances.

Furies sneak into Finals with premiership hangover and an even record.

The off season started with a flurry, TLFUA - Tiger announcing not only a step back from leadership, but a change of clubs was on the cards whilst fellow veteran rota69 announced his intentions of a career change also, luckily only the latter went through with their plans. With the list coming off Premiership glory, little was to change in the Furies line up; the addition of Jolldo87 and Carn Tigez as rookies and the return of kainokaino the only substantial IN's of importance to the team.

The Furies defeated the Demons in the first round of a shortened 18 week season, winning their next game before dropping two MOTR's against the Wonders and Hawks respectively. The team would reach halfway through on 4 wins and 5 losses, just off a Finals position. The next 8 games went much the same way, 4 good results, 4 bad and meant the Furies needed to win their last game to leapfrog the Demons due to better percentage. A win against the newly admitted Swamprats was enough to get the club over the line, and back into finals.

The Furies suffered in Mobbs Medal calculations due to their up and down season, the highest vote getter club stalwart hougie with 7, good for 9th place in a tough year, young rookie Jolldo87, returning player KainoKaino, veteran Mobbs place-getter beaver's army and Captain PHX all tallied 6 votes to finish 10th.

The first official guernsey of the Fighting Furies.

The veteran, hougie, also took out the rfctigerarmy medal in what was his best season for the club. ALL SFA honours this year were brief, club captain PHX selected on Half Back to acknowledge his extraordinary work as Skipper, and once again, Furies forward icon tugga would take out the goal-kicking award.

Heading into Finals, the Furies were very confident, just one season removed from tasting the ultimate success. Needing a perfect record in their campaign, a close win against an inaccurate Gumbies team led to an away match against the Wonders that always spelled trouble. The Furies bogie team led from the beginning and never looked like easing up, comfortably dealing with the Fury team and more than doubling their score for a meek exit to Finals series in which great things were expected.

The Third Premiership. A Dynasty begins...
fe820a80e874a725806bd43015f8cf51

The Champion Furies celebrate after their victory over rivals the West Coast Wonders. Vice Captain and Deestroy medallist hougie holds the cup aloft amongst teammates. Furies players swapped jumpers with the opposition after the game as the Wonders team clamoured to own a piece of memorabilia belonging to their favourite Premiership players.

The Furies rejuvenated their list after a disappointing season and began plotting a quick rise back to the top. The loss of ex Captain TLFUA-Tiger was heavy after testing the waters the season prior, but the signing rookies Ize Of The World, dyl_tigerman, BILC, JSFISH and also enticing Furies premiership player sante back home was enough to off set the Club legends exit. A win against long time rivals the Shagons was matched with a heavy loss in the practice prelim to perennial bogie team the Wonders. Equus and Captain PHX featured in the Admins Top 20 to start the season, although last years poor campaign hurt the teams evaluation.

The Furies dominated from the off set, winning four of the first five and reaching the halfway point of the season comfortably at a 6-4 record to sit in the top four. The Furies would win 7 of their last 11 matches to secure top two and a home qualifying final. In one of their best statistical years yet, many Furies stars had special seasons; .....

At the end of the season the Furies had found plenty of new stars to join their ageing elite and finish 2nd on the ladder. Rookie BILC ended up finishing 2nd in the EKA medal, agonisingly just short on 26 votes to 33. Once again a stacked midfield took votes off each other in the Mobbenfuhrer Medal, legend rfctigerarmy finishing an equal 9th with 7 votes. The Furies would also feature in the ALL SFA side, Captain PHX and upcoming leading Equus gaining premium positions in the Leagues best XX. Equus, PHX and BILC would feature 4th, 9th and 11th in the Admins End of Season Top 20.

Leading into a Finals campaign with the Furies again a major threat, young star BILC was sought by final-less clubs which sparked the ire of Captain PHX. A close high scoring affair against the Mod Squad in the first round saw the Furies young star announce the teams title hopes and victory over bogie team Southern Dragons, to the league, proving to speak their victory into existence. A well rounded clinical demolition of the Shagons led to a Grand Final set up against an even bigger bogie team, and the club who knocked the Furies out last year, in the West Coast Wonders. With the line ups set, the Furies demolished the Wonders to claim their third premiership in resounding 60 - plus point fashion. Club veteran hougie claimed the Deestroy and the Furies rode sky high on confidence and talent towards hopes of completing a historic back to back...

Sweet F.A History is made; The Furious Dynasty.
TheFuries-HomeandAway.jpg

Rookie TheCuzEffect updates the design of the Fighting Furies jersey. Despite taking out the Premiership, the Furies consider serious changes to their list for the best chance to go back-to-back, resulting in 8 players exiting, and an exciting change of leadership.

On the back of Premiership success, the club enjoyed one of their most active and event laden off seasons yet. Feeling slighted by the lack of Grand Final week activity, BILC spoke out angrily before announcing he wasn't actually a rookie in his last season. A productive off season saw them add two former furies in Grockadoc and Khan from the dissolved Mod Squad, happy to join the reigning premiers. Featuring highly on pre season previews , the club went on a recruitment drive to readjust their list for another tilt. After weeks of celebrations away from Sweet, BILC broke a top story and the Champions broke their silence, labelling the Gumbies, Hawks and Bombers as the biggest threat to their back to back. With 7 delistings including former stars sante, beaver's army and a surprisingly short career for Jolldo87, as well as the retirement of club stalwart forward tugga. Young guns BILC and Equus assumed Vice Captain roles in support of resolute leader PHX, replacing the maturing hougie and Clieshy.

The Furies balanced this with the signings of rookies TheCuzEffect, the_ranger and Tony_Montagna, before enduring a shaky start to their first pre season match, unfortunately being smashed by the Roys. They showed no signs of change effecting their game in the Pre Season Cup, however, beating the Roys where it counted slightly more, following up with a win against the Bombers before falling to the Demons in the Final. When the regular season rolled around, it was clear however, that the change in playing list had had an effect on the group, losing their first 4 games in unconvincing performances which caused Vice Captain BILC to front the Media, publicly trying to placate angry fans. This anger turned to fear as Bombers captain and admin Doggiesins08 announced an invitation to BILC and Equus to join them in Baghdad, which was fortunately for the Furies, declined.
Round 5 against the Demons saw the team notch their first win, starting a desperate claw back to Finals contention. The Furies would split their next twelve games 6 wins 6 losses to reach their first MOTR, and only one for the season, against the Wonders sitting in 4th, a game ahead. A close victory would set up the Furies and see them with a chance few thought possible of slipping into the last finals spot. A win and a loss in the next two games against the Demons and Hawks would see the team need to beat the Gumbies to sneak into top four.

A convincing victory away from home, and the Furies regular season was over, admittedly somewhat of a disappointing year with 1 loss more than wins, but everyone in the League knows when the FFFFC really come to play. Despite the less than amazing record, the Furies featured heavily in the ALL SFA team, Equus, BILC, PHX and rfctigerarmy all featuring in prime spots, indicating the level of talent in the Furies S11 Side. Young gun Clieshy had the most kicks in the League (287), 2nd most tackles in the league (140) and went back to back in the rfctigerarmy Medal, whilst rfctigerarmy secured the Goldenboot for the 2nd season running. Equus led the Furies hitouts with 250 (2nd in the League) whilst also managing the 2nd most frees against with 64. Vice Captain BILC laid claim to the most marks in the league (241) and rfctigeramy finished inside the top 5 for goalkicking, highlighting a statistically impressive year at Punt Road.

A defensive masterclass on the Hawks was followed up by a thrilling victory against the Bombers, opposition captain HawkPatrol fumbling a mark in the dying seconds that would have seen the Furies lose their premiership chance. Grand Final day finally came round, the Furies battling against the Geelong Gumbies at the House of Gumby, the top seated team of the regular season against the statistically "worst" team in Finals, in what was set to be a thrilling encounter. A tight affair, the Furies ran out victors late in the last by twenty points, all day led from the front by Vice Captain BILC who channeled rfctigerarmy and dominated in the middle to win the Deestroy medal. The Furies historic achievement of back to back flags, their fourth in total and an impeccable finals record unmatched in the league would cause Mobbs to write these words upon reflection in the off season.

Fresh from winning yet another of their hatful of flags, the Fighting Furies are the one team that seriously do not need to talk the talk. They're already grinners. You know they'll be here. They always are. They don't have to be in the final four, they just have to be less than five games out of it at the halfway mark. Lets face it, the only team you want in the finals more than your own is anyone but the Furies.
Mobbenfuhrer - Hear that? It's the loudest silence ever heard.

Season 12

Furies last placed finish marks the end of a legendary era.

;(

The Furies had completed history, the first team to win consecutive premierships and were full of belief and confidence that the entire League had to acknowledge. To add to the atmosphere surrounding the major club over the off season, the Furies sought to secure the services of former Mount Buller Demons captain TigerGlory, which sparked a rivalry between the two clubs, the Demons bitter about the nature of their ex-captain's exit. Adding highly touted rookie spud_jjj to their ranks and delisting Tony_Montagna and Carn Tigez would mark the last of the Furies off season activity, preparing to launch a defence of their two premierships and hope to achieve the unprecedented triple.

The season began positively, beating both the Bombers, and Gumbies to secure a Pre Season Grand Final encounter against the Southern Dragons. Resulting in a close 9 point win, and the third piece of silverware in two years the Furies had claimed, the lead in to the real rounds seemed perfect. A Round 1 win against the Roys followed by a surprisingly low scoring draw against the Pre Season Grand Final losers would be the end of everything good for the Furies in Season 12. Halfway through the season, sitting at 1-5-1 the Furies were seriously struggling, more so than they had ever done in many seasons time, scoring an unlucky D+ on their mid season report. New recruit TigerGlory was convinced things would turn around in the second half of the season, however 3 straight losses would all but destroy hopes of finals and an unbelievable comeback. A rare win against the Gumbies would be balanced out with a excruciatingly close loss to the Demons. In the final round of the season against the top placed East Side Hawks, with nothing to play for in terms of points and a wooden spoon already belonging in the Furies camp, the team would go on to produce their best performance of the year in a thrilling victory against the Minor Premiers that highlighted the talent still in the club, and the massive problems that occurred to create such a drastic slide.

Come the end of the year, there were few standout performers in a season that registered only four wins. PHX slowly stepped back from leadership duties over the year, Vice Captain's BILC and Equus becoming more and more prominent in club decision making. Premiership and ALL SFA ruckman Equus was by far the stand out player on the team, sealing the rfctigerarmy Medal, selection in the Centre to the ALL SFA Season 12 Side and most impressively, finishing 2nd in the Mobbs Medal on 14 votes. Club founding Captain and living legend rfctigerarmy won the Club's Goldenboot for the second time running.

The Furies would regroup and rejuvenate their list and leadership after a disappointing season that signalled the end of a very special and successful era for the Fighting Furies.

League worst losing streak, Furies poor luck persists.
1_E1RiNM15MW3295.jpg

The Furies would spend many hours after games like this, even a return to traditional jumper would not see the team break the cursed streak until Round 14.

After the Furies worst finish in Season 12 since since their first season in the competition, the club sensed a spiritual and practical change was necessary to continue writing the expansive history of the Fighting Furies. 2 time Premiership Captain and Furies Legend PHX passed on the main leadership role to an unofficial captain for some time in Equus, early in the off season. The new Captain made quick work of becoming comfortable in his role, signing new player CAB12 and revealing fighting_fury88's scandalous relationship with a Tennis Star. The Furies added former Dragon and future captain footy_fumbler to their ranks before also securing the signatures of wrennyboy and RT73. Both new recruit fumbler (20th) and Captain Equus (4th) made Frothies Top 20 at the beginning of the season.

Kicking off pre-season with an a non specific tri series, the Furies beat both the Richmond AFL Team, and the Prime Minister's XX to lead into proper pre-season. Back to back losses against the Demons and Gumbies would not fill the team with lots of confidence, and this was noticeable as the season started; the Furies enduring the worst losing streak ever. The first 7 rounds went by with the Furies getting within 1 point of picking up the first points, but instead were shouted at for not being a more visible team in the Sweet F.A. Round 12 came around, and the Roys, apprehensive of facing such an out of form team with their reputation for playing losing clubs into form, pulled out the reverse psychology to ensure they would not be the first to lose at the hands of the Furies.

The poor results continued, resulting in youngster TheCuzEffect to angrily lash out at the umpiring. After round 12, during the mid season trade period and on the back of another devastating defeat, this time to the Roys, The Furies decided to take drastic action and call in some Premiership Legends to return and help steady the ship. tugga, beaver's army, KainoKaino and IDGAF were re-recruited to stem the tide of losses in Round 13, but to no avail. 13 straight losses. The club's worst ever losing streak.

Round 14 came, signalling the last 4 games the Furies had to record their first win, the wooden spoon already secured. An away trip encounter with finals spot contender Geelong Gumbies would seem to add further misery to the Furies record as they trailed at the end of the 3rd Quarter. However, a miraculous fightback from the bottom dwellers in the last saw them claw back the victory in the final moments of the game, and record the Furies first win of the season which was declared National Fighting Fury Day, and celebrated joyously, at the Gumbies expense.
The good times didn't last, the team falling back down to earth against the Bombers, although they would go on to win their last two games against the Dragons, and the Roys in a then record breaking match thread.

In another poor year, few Furies stood out from the pack, star Captain and Ruck Equus once again one of the few shining lights for the team individually, finishing 5th in Mobbs calculations with 15 votes, a personal best. The Captain also earned his 4th consecutive ALL SFA nomination in prime positions, this year at the spot he made his own in Ruck. Vice Captain BILC also joined his leader from the back pocket in the nominated team.

With the club experiencing it's worst period in the League since the early days, the spirit in the team remained strong, and the Furies vowed to return better than ever in Season 14.

Furies find way up the ladder. Just.

35l87f7.png
The battling, Fighting Furies started the new season with intent. Captain Equus announcing 3 scratch matches to kick off the pre-season immediately after the most disappointing of seasons. TigerGlory laid out an open challenge, in somewhat boastful terms for the bottom dwellers of last season.

In the pre-season power-rankings the lethal combo featured prominently for the Furies (13th -Equus, 8th - BILC). More practice matches, and a win over the Hawks, followed by another win against the newly created West Gate Trolls was capped off with a close loss to the Geelong outfit.
Drawing near to the real season, Furies own BILC rated the team as the 5th best in the comp, predicting new recruit TigerDyer29 to shine, and Equus to win a back to back rfctigerarmy medal. Other rankings however, had the team placed last off their recent history.
Once the league mandated pre-season started, The Furies made it past the Geelong Gumbies this time, only to fall to the Demons in the Semi Final.

What was a brighter start than the last two campaigns encouraged fans and players alike, The Furies winning 4 out of their first 7 to enjoy 3 consecutive MOTR placings after almost an entire two seasons without registering the prestige. Only managing to win the second of said MOTR against the Gumbies away, falling short to eventual grand finalists the Bombers and Demons, the Furies would go on an unfortunate slide Qooty-wise, just as the stars of the team were beginning to factor in for major awards. BILC was re-rated 6th in Gee Dub's power rankings whilst Equus moved up 2 to 11th. fighting_fury88 and tigland also featured in the top 50. Other teams players were even claiming BILC was a lock for best player of the season.

Drawing closer to the end of season and without a win in 7 games the out of form Furies secured not last place after two years of poor luck. Beating the Gumbies convincingly to avoid the unfortunate title of most consecutive spoons. The new Top 20 saw Vice Captain BILC feature in 2nd after a fantastic finish to the year, but was unfortunately the only Fury present, mainly for his fantastic work on living legend David Attenborough's visit to Sweet. Captain Equus was also busy in the final weeks leading the inquiry into maintaining the State of the Game.

In sensational fashion, the Furies announced a major new season coup in securing the services of Dragons Co-Vice Captain BigBadBuddy for Season 15 a few weeks before the end of Season 14, after months of speculation (some self-imposed) and rumours. Almost equally as sensational was the shock welch on the deal only a few weeks later of BBB himself, to return to his VC role at the Southern Dragons. This dramatic trade that wasn't prompted Furies forward Fumbles (not to be confused with footy_fumbler ) to produce an amazing rhyming attack on the welcher, that was received extremely well by the Sweet F.A public. With the season drawing on and 'the future' of many being decided in overblown proportions, Fumbles created a possible TOTY with 'Fumbles predicts the future'

Once awards season arrived, BILC was expected to poll well but youngster tigland started the season on fire to continue the proud tradition of Furies taking votes off each other, eventually finishing 3rd (14) and 4th (13) respectively. BILC did win the BnF whilst new recruit Fumbles gained ALL SFA recognition in after his great media posting along with stalwart Fury and aptly named, fighting_fury88. Whilst not repeating the misery of the last two seasons, the club looked to Season 15 to surge back into the top tier of Sweet competition.

Furies find way back home to Finals.

fPK9Akvs.jpg
fPK9Akvs.jpg
fPK9Akvs.jpg

The Furies campaign for Finals football began in earnest, Fumbles sending a message to the soft players in the competition straight away and announced the intentions of the club.

The Forward was duly rated 2nd in itsmyshows start of year Top 20, the second highest Fury new captain BILC at 5. After renewed angst over the lack of a Furies team thread in the Sweet F.A, promising rookie opened an Information Kiosk for all Fury related qualms.
The unofficial preseason kicked off with a win against the Wonders, a loss to the Hawks in round 1 of the Cup and further practice matches, and wins, against the Dragons and Roys. Immediately after, the Furies camp were rocked by the announcement of superstar Fumbles shock retirement. But also delighted by the announcement one of their young guns became the resident Sweet F.A interviewer.

Leading into the season, in one of the more definitive lists, Eth's S15 Rankings saw the Furies poll well, Filthy_Sanchez at #8, BILC at #12, Equus at #32, new rookie Cutty at #37 and new recruit from the Gumbies EagleOz83 at #40. The Furies were already beginning to combine to devastating effect, the latest two recruits proving that in the first introduction of Cutty to the league.
6. EagleOz83: Who do you love to hate in the SFA?
Cutty: The sim, what do I have to do to get a freaking goal dammit!!!
7. If you could have any superpower, what would you have? And why?
Telekinesis, I HATE getting up to grab a beer from the fridge!
14. Tell us your funniest joke (please keep it clean).
I don’t have any clean ones, PM me for a really dirty one tho
19. Dog or Cat?
A philosophical question to be sure, the dog being a symbol of loyalty, strength and fealty and the cat being a symbol of confidence, independence and cunning. Ultimately I would walk the path of the Dog as I feel a greater kinship with those qualities

The Furies opened their new season account with a split record of 2-2, however things would change drastically for the team when in the prelude to Round 5, legendary Captain Equus stood down and promoted BILC, effective immediately. The Champion ruckman captained the Furies through its toughest period and created the team that became a behemoth of the modern competition with astute recruiting and tireless effort. In light of the news, the Furies walloped the Hawks to reach a positive record for the first time in a long while, whilst keeping the East Side outfit below 50 points. After the match drama subsided, the up and coming Filthy_Sanchez produced an exclusive interview with the new Captain to get his thoughts on the intriguing situation. Whilst accusations around the Furies huge reversal of form in such a short amount of time that saw them sitting pretty in 3rd, caught the attention of Newspaper mogul and Roys legend Broken. Splitting the next 5 games the exact opposite to the first 5, the Furies were on top of the ladder and participated in their first MOTR's. This prompted Grockadoc to release an exclusive insight into the high spirits at Punt Road Oval.

By round 11, further turmoil would grip the club as the captaincy was once again passed over, this time to Filthy Sanchez who steered the ship admirably as a comparative youngster to the experience of BILC and Equus. BILC dropped off from his usual high activity, but not before dropping this classic Media thread, that still remains one of the more timeless pieces in Sweet history. The uncertainty of the Clubs Captaincy position certainly attracted the attention of the larger League. 4 losses and a draw was not the perfect start to the new Captain's reign, but the Furies steadied the ship with 3 wins in the last 3 rounds to secure their first finals campaign in 3 seasons.

Furies featured prominently in Gee Dub's End of Season Rankings, BILC at 20, Filthy Sanchez at 9, EagleOz at 47, Captain Blood 17 at 49, Equus at 38 and tigland at 32. Gumbies recruit EagleOz83 took out the inaugural OkeyJoke Medal with 30 votes. Young gun Nuffers also placed third in the EKA as well as taking out ROTY which was since named after the energetic half forward who snared the Fumbles Goldenboot in a fantastic first season. At Mobbs Night, the Furies finished 3rd and 4th again, a constant habit, EagleOz on 19 followed by Grockadoc not far behind on 16 votes. Filthy Sanchez and Eagle Oz also polled in the now renamed 'beez' MVP Trophy at 11 and 32 respectively. The new Captain had an impressive year, including being the only Fury to gain ALL SFA recognition.

Heading into Finals from 4th, the Furies were just mainly happy to be there, and the positive energy around the club managed to carry them past the Dragons and Bombers in two away games of starkly different difficulty to set up a Granny encounter against rivals Wonders. Unfortunately, it was not to be this year for the Furies in what would have been a fairy tale finish to a successful comeback, the Wonders ran out 6 point winners in a brilliant contest voted the Game of the Year. Amazingly, rookie Cutty secured the Deestroy in the losing side. The Furies were dreadfully unlucky, but had re-established themselves as premier contenders once more.

Furies sustain solid Finals form.

furies-presser-jpg.11736

Major shake ups created an unfamiliar environment at the club, but one that turned out to lead to the initial beginnings of another great era.

After being in reported financial debt, the true secrets behind the miraculous new amounts of money in the club was exposed by Shaun Duggan to be uneventful pop music. The beginnings of the off season were eventful, cult hero captain blood 17 being found out of abusing illegal substances, and indefinitely suspended. Captain Filthy_Sanchez was then forced to cut ties with sponsor KFC after the internal problems became public. This caused immediate problems as Grockadoc , a vital part of the Furies engine room was seen overeating the ex-sponsor's grease, and developing a gut the size of Punt Road Oval. The decreased activity in Furies legend was also noticed by one of the league greats over the off season. This was counter-acted by signing new players like The Goon, TheColetra and T4P maintaining the Richmond board recruiting connection.

A poor record of 1 win to 3 losses in the Furies first four Pre Season matches, the leadership group decided a new Coach was needed to establish a superior winning culture, and after much deliberation decided upon opposition club member Coach X in a surprising twist. Only to instate other rival player WiseGuySam as coach afterwards. The new season would also see Furies star tigland take on a much bigger role in the club as vice captain to current Captain Filthy_Sanchez.
The Furies also suffered from the exitement of expansion and the trade flurry for all clubs it brought with it, losing eventual Captain footy_fumbler in the process.

After a tough opening round loss to the Hawks, the 2nd game of the season marked the momentous occasion of rfctigerarmy drawing level with the Games Record set by EKA at 281. Unfortunately resulting in another loss to the free scoring Roys. The lull of mid week between the next round saw the Furies pick up another new recruit in Gringo 'Bop' Starr the Handball Bopper, before picking up their first win of the season against the Bombers.

Filthy_Sanchez once again announced a change in coaching positions, with Matt 007 Dea taking the role instead. New rookie The Bopper made headlines for bedding a rather piggish Furies fan in the midst of the Coaching whirlwind. Another coaching change mid season saw the Furies appoint Jayden Post, and just outside of Finals after four straight defeats. A win against the expansion club Gold City Royals in Round 9 marked a significant change in the team's form, and they began a remarkable climb up the ladder to top four. The form would stutter over the second half of the season, but 5 wins and 4 losses would be enough to clinch 4rd spot.

At the end of the season, Captain Blood 17 finally let the public know what had happened since his mysterious disappearance. Co-Captain tigland would take out the rfctigerarmy Medal, Goal Kicking award and inaugural winner of PHX Shield as the most consistent, he would also be the only Fury nominated to ALL SFA selection, in the prime position of Ruck in a very impressive season. In the Match Thread MVP awards by Gee Dub, Captain Filthy_Sanchez would finish 3rd (38) and VC tigland 7th (33). In the Mobbs, EagleOz once again polled well, finishing 4th with 19 votes whilst tigland came close with 17 (6), the next closest Fury Grockadoc with 12 (12).

With everything to play for, 3 tough trips away to elite teams would not phase the Furies as a close battle against rival bogies, Wonders was matched by two comprehensive high scoring victories over the Gumbies and Hawks. Facing off at Boncer's Castle with the equal best regular season record holders from Geelong, the game went down to the last 10 seconds. In heartbreaking style, the Furies were on the losing end in their 2nd consecutive Grand Final appearance.

Furies become off field powerhouses, but on field performances suffer.
season-17-png.32037

With a fresh new Club image, return of an absolute Great and the doors opened up to non-tigers, the Furies entered un unprecedented era of expanding the rules and reach of the proud Club.

2 consecutive, shattering losses on the biggest day of the Season had driven the clubs preparation over the off - season. After some time without success, the leadership group decided it was time to change some of the major aspects of the Clubs history. The announcement that the Fighting Furies had removed the Richmond only rule around recruitment was broken in the press release detailing the signing of Gun Gumby player @claypigeon. Another signing of a player now erased from most of the Club's History was overshadowed by the doubts once more surrounding the longevity of the current Furies Captain. Filthy_Sanchez was ruored to be handing over the captaincy to VC @tigland after a severe drop off in interest. Tigs firmly stood by Filthy in face of mounting pressure, which increased plenty fold by the shock calls from old player @footy_fumbler to take the captaincy, and make Sanchez stand down. After helping create the Gold Coast Royals expansion team, fumbler announced his interest in returning home and eventually received full support from the team as long as tigland would Co-Captain, after Filthy and tigs agreed what was best for the club. However, Fumbler would have to wait until later in the season to officially receive the job.

The preseason started with a bye, before 3 consecutive wins against the Royals, Swampies and Dragons saw them Furies take out the Pre-Season Cup for the Second time in the Club's history. In the real season, the Furies split their first two games before absent leadership and a 1st MOTR appearance, and loss to the Bombers sent the team into a downward spiral.
By Round 7, 2 losses in a row, and a disappointing slump in form not looking like turning around any time soon, Fumbler once again called for the Captaincy to be re-assessed in a Hunger Games type contest due to inactivity of the current leadership. Fumbler was impressive in the first half of the season, ranked as the player the Club could least afford to lose.

A tight loss to the Wonders the next week and the League was rocked by the announcement of Filthy_Sanchez stepping down, and tigland to take on Co-Captaincy with the revolutionary Fumbler. The club was never far from drama, mid season, one of their recruits spoke ill about the Clubs form and was then suspended for rule breaches that caused outrage amongst the senior players.
The Furies were also quick to dispel any rumours of inactivity that other Leagues were spreading to hide their own posting flaws. The Furies would fight to a 5-5 record after a mid season slump, and narrowly avoid another wooden spoon.

The Season however, was a great one off field. The emergence of Wacky Tiger as a top poster in the competition was duly awarded with 2 Club awards and the prestigious EKA Medal, becoming the First fury to win the award.
The Furies would not poll well at the Mobbs this year, EagleOz83 7th with 11 votes, and new Captain tigs and Vice-Captain Grockadoc both finished 9th with 9 votes. With no Finals to look forward to, the focus was fully on the new Season.

Third Grand Final defeat in 3 agonising appearances.
UPIhxJr.png

The Furies would consolidate the good work last season by signing some superstars of the league and adding another elite crop of rookies to their ranks, combining to create great activity and a brilliant Qooty season that just fell short. A brilliant new design from fumbler was matched by his usual unique way with words.

The Furies turned disappointment into optimism through one of the best off seasons in the Club's history. An active recruitment of players like soon to be stars Hate, This Is Anfield and raskolnikov as well as opposition stars such as Dragon Uncle_Leo and a player who would go on to cement his legend status in the league at the club, new #1 Ruck @Shadow Man. Returning Finals players Cotch9_ and Showbag In the pre-season the Furies played the Bears and lost, and the Wonders and won, but did not make it through to the next round. Fumbler was also integral in the creation of an exclusive Sweet T.V program Qooty Finalsathon.

Splitting the First 8 games 4 apiece, the Club would go on to win their next three games starting with the Roys.
The Furies would play their 300th game in Round 10 and marked the occasion with a special heritage jumper, and a nice win against the Wonders. Grockadoc also gave his time to provide exclusive insight into the life of a Sweet F.A Player reaching 150 games.
A Club record high score against the Bears in Round 11 would set the team up for an excellent finish, even after a loss to the Gumbies in Rivalry Round.

The Furies maintained their good form in the second part of the season, Winning 3 of the next 5 to finish 3rd on 40 Points. In the End of Season Awards, Grockadoc at 10th, Claypigeon at 18, and Shadow Man and Uncle_Leo at 15 and 16 in Karnezis_13's Top 50 Qootyers. Fumbler also made it in 17th to the 'beez' MVP Trophy. The Season 18 Mobbs Medal was a historic one for the Furies, 2nd year gun Wacky Tiger took out the awards in emphatic style, winning the Furies first Mobbs Medal (26 Votes) and TLFUA - Tiger Medals. The superstar Fury also received ALL SFA selection in the Rover position, as well as becoming a first time rfctigerarmy Medallist for the Furies. Tigland polled 11th and next best for the team with 10 votes, whilst Rookie This Is Anfield finished third in the EKA to brahj, and won the club's PHX Shield and Nuffers Medal, fellow rookie Hate was the recipient of the Captain's Award.

A comprehensive loss to the Bombers in the first round of Finals was unfortunate, but the double chance earned them a home game against new team Coney Island, who boldly announced their intentions before being smacked off the park. Playing in their third grand final of four years made the team quite confident, and ready to create history, however in a close match in which the Furies would score 3 behinds to only 1 goal in the last ten to lose their opportunity to win against the Demons. It was not to be the Furies elusive 5th Premiership, and the Furies would leave Finals again empty handed, apart from Uncle_Leo who claimed the Deestroy. Despite further uncertainty around the captaincy, and the terribly sad retirement of founding father rfctigerarmy, the Furies would re-gear for another Finals charge.

Prelim Furies just not good enough.
104068_9b21dc6b92538b8df8a1b576eb07b850.jpg

The off season was full of more Captain controversy and the Furies reached the highest peaks of activity in their long history so far.

With Fumbler announcing himself staying on as Captain, and a short lived rebranding to the Fighting Furies Qooty Club was the second major news out of the Furies camp in Pre Season. A win against the newly branded Wolves in a trial match, the news of Fumblers continued captaincy may have started a problem in the leadership group, or an elaborate joke on the League. The star Fury was elevated to the top position and was expected to continue his dominance in the midfield.

Leading into the season however, the internal rating around the Club was not reflected lead wide. In more welcome news in the hands of fumbler, Inside Qooty returned after its first incarnation last season. Losing a few key players of the last few season's recruiting spree in Uncle_Leo, Hate and former Captain Filthy_Sanchez (both loldragons) did not help the clubs image, neither did former rfctigerarmy Medal winner claypigeon's walkabout, but the squad was more than bolstered by its rookie recruits in RodneyDangerfield evo, TJTiger, SpudsLoveChild, tommypickles and stellar signings in past EKA medallist WAG (Dragons) and BigBadBuddy from the Wonders only a few short seasons after his off-season trade fiasco that saw him rejoin the Dragons.

PYKbSGt.png

The Club began the season on fire, 6 straight wins entering record books as the longest Furies streak, and cementing their place in the Finals even if only a few more wins came on the board. Unfortunately 5 consecutive losses and 3 MOTR's saw them fall to the rest of the pack, but even with questions over Wacky's captaincy, who was rated seventh in Gee Dub's Captain Rankings, and criticism from the ever present footy_fumbler, the Furies managed to steady the ship, securing a double chance with wins against the Warriors and Wolves in the last 4 rounds.

In the club awards, tigland would win his 2nd rfctigerarmy Medal after returning to focus solely on Qooty. fumbler would secure the Goldenboot at FF whilst new recruit SpudsLoveChild (now Nursie) entertained the League and deservedly took out the rookie award. In Mobbs calculations, Wacky Tiger would go back to back for the second time in League history, and became the first Fury to win one, let alone two. He tallied 23 votes to take the prestigious award out. tigland would feature 35th in the beez Trophy, whilst Fumbler managed 18th spot, and Wacky Tiger 12th.

After destroying the Warriors away first up to earn a week off, the Furies year would come unexpectedly short against the Dragons at Punt Road. And the Furies would fall short on securing the mythical #firsttofive.
tigland would step into a recruiting managers role, and the Furies would be certain to come across success, just around the corner...

Season 20

#firsttofive

The Furies continued their dominance off field and on in Season 20 through some astute signings, including the ambitious recruitment of Gentlemen who boldly announced the Furies can win the flag in the next couple of season. Only a few days later, the League was rocked by the Furies signing a league legend, all time leading Goal Kicker Tarkyn_24. With 6 wins out of 8 in the opening rounds, the Furies were the team to beat in the competition, remaining firmly in top two placings.

Mid season, trouble at the Hawks, from whom the Furies poached Gentlemen and Tarks was a hot topic of discussion league wide, and the Club issued this statement on the matter. BigJoeD_'s Core Poster rankings had the Furies at 6th, and the team was in their worst form of the year suffering two consecutive losses at the hands of the Dragons and Royals. A clinical 18 goal 1 behind win against the Bears saw the team return to the winner's sheet and not see their name removed for the rest of the season to clinch top two.

At the end of the Season, the Furies were viewed to be the 6th best off team in the league, but were seen to be the 2nd best Club of all time in Sweet. Helen Wheels was voted a top 4 EKA Chance in the S20 Count, before eventually finishing 4th.
In Broken's SweetRankings thread, 3 furies made the Top 20, fumbler managed 18th, This Is Anfield 16th and Wacky Tiger 6th. The Furies continued the tradition of taking heaps of votes off each other in the Mobbenfuhrer Medal, Gentlemen and Shadow Man both finishing in equal 2nd (16 votes), Captain WT equal 3rd with 15 votes.

Come week of the Grand Finals, the Furies were not so quietly confident and raucous in their celebrations already. Even a late scandal involving star player Gentlemen did not distract the team from their ambitions. Shadow Man was proclaimed by fumbler the greatest player not in the Hall of Fame, and the Furies faced the Demons in a MOTR encounter at Punt Road for the opportunity of a week off. Unfortunately this resulted in a less then awesome performance the Furies would once again have to do it the hard way, beating the Bandits and Dragons on their way to a fitting rematch against the Dees in the Granny. #smartysbench, a Captain's Deestroy BOG performance and a thrilling final quarter later, the Furies were home and secured their fifth premiership to be the first to achieve the prestigious number. #lolwonders

The Post Finals love in was evident, fumbler putting all his teammates up for Immortal nomination, Wacky's ALL SFA nomination was seen by the Admin as a sure thing and praised the Captain's efforts for the season, however the Club suffered severely as their home grown skipper shipped off to the Hawks, and looked to new leadership for Season 21, and an exciting bunch of rookies...

Season 21

Old guard leads new charge.

New captains, rookies and atmosphere around the club leads to another transition season for the Furies off and on field.

The scandalous off season move of former Captain Wacky attracted media attention from fumbler and ex - Fury Hate, as well as causing Vice Captain TIA to rhyme at their expense. The Sweet F.A's own veteran rookie sausageroll made his way to Punt Road as a major off season signing. Captain again fumbler also announced a vacancy in a partner for leadership, which was subsequently filled by club legend Equus.
205713_225cd0d8c90ed05bebf634a0b81ecf09.png

The Furies also announced the signings of future Captain _Cayz_ , EKA medallist and future Captain Sterge , the recruitment of flaps and

and some more wind ups from fumbler and his impending 'retirement'. Another scandal involving a suspension for a team sheet submission error caused havoc with League media relations and the Club. A sharp fall from their heights last year, the Furies would endure 7 losses to a solitary win and the questions around the departure of Wacky, the strict league punishment of Furies due to the premiership calibre, and a lack of recognition for last years mighty effort reached a boiling point. In Salary Cap rankings, fumbler ranking the most expensive player at an 800,000 price tag.
205715_20abeda5b1845af6df2603757eaabbec.png

Thank you Cody_ for the guernseys.

Halfway through the season it was evident the Furies had signed two future stars in Sterge and Cayz, and in Round 11, flaps played his 149th milestone game. The Furies form would dramatically pick up after playing the milestone, around the same time as a different competitive season which sparked an investigative inquiry. Mid Season Power Poster Rankings saw Sterge place 12th for the Furies.
233798_7afd6071bf83638c988a3989361cb586.jpg

Winning three of their last four games, the Furies would charge into an elimination final contention with a win in the final round against the Bandits. Originally dealt a loss by the Qooty Gods, the simmer mistakenly placed the unknown player Bays in the team instead of Equus, and the resulting re-sim ended in a Furies win, and a finals match up against the Hawks. As well as lots of Bays jokes.
The end of the season was met with the good news Cayz had rejected multiple offers to take up Captaincy at the Furies, signalling a new era at the Club.

This Is Anfield took out a deserved BnF for a career first, whilst Tarkyn went back to back in goal-kicking tallies. The Rookie award was shared by two important future leaders and always evergreen sausageroll. The Captain's Trophy was fittingly shared by the two Captains of Season 23. At the Awards night, Furies star Sterge took out the prestigious EKA medal on 26 votes, also receiving ALL SFA selection on the half back flank. This Is Anfield backed up a club award with 4th place in the Mobbs on 16 votes. New recruit sausageroll came 9th with 11 votes.
An unfortunate loss against the Hawks that signalled form of the early rounds would bring the season to a close early, but the seasons ahead looked promising of saluting for the magical 6th premiership.

Season 22

Final round Sim mishap keeps Furies final-less.
WvwheEs.jpg

With a new logo, 3 new recruits and managing to sign akkaps from the Wolves, the Furies were looking to reverse the early season slump that had seen them just scrape into finals last time round.

With a new logo designed by incoming Co-Captain _Cayz_ and EKA winner Sterge stepping into the VC role, Gentlemen took up the last leadership post at the Furies, and the team busied themselves signing joelsyt , tgrs and Richmondayitis on as rookies.

The Season kicked off after a Pre-Season Triangle Series against the Rats and Roys, in which the Furies made the final of the competition, but lost to the Roys in a heated series in which all 3 teams were playing Qooty for great causes.
Up against the Royals, who took offence to valid points on inactivity, the Furies looked to have arrested the errors that had haunted them at the start of regular seasons, winning their first 3 including a thriller against the Dragons. The second MOTR encounter against the Hawks marked a drastic spiral in form, and also the saddening retirement of footy_fumbler. Both events ended up impacting upon the Furies form, as the team would lose the next 4 in a row, and meant the Club became a target in the wider league Media.
In Round 9, the Furies welcomed NaturalDisaster to the fold and he immediately helped remedy the losses, contributing to the smashing of Baghdad to get back on the winners list.

In the mid season period, Gentlemen delivered the League's FM type assessment of talent production, the Furies narrowly coming out on top as having the best recruiting record. Meanwhile, Sterge was picked out from the crowd as one of the Captains-in-waiting by Van_Robbo Media, and the Furies re-signed Premiership player Stevi_Tigers to the list after a massive 2 season celebration bender.

295563_d98448c3c83d13f855ab91c3563358f2.jpg

Round 11 was a special occasion for the Club, and two of it's stars - Tarkyn_24 and footy_fumbler celebrating two extremely decorated careers with massive milestone games.

The Former Captain fumbler, and All-Time goals leader Tarkyn_24 celebrated reaching 150 and 300 games respectively, and after some unconvincing performances the Furies were able to do their two legends proud and win the game against the Wonders. Unfortunately, the Furies form did not turn around as it needed to in the second half of the season, and to add on further misery the team said goodbye to friend, and club legend This Is Anfield.

With 16 rounds of up and down emotions, the Furies surprisingly still had a chance to sneak into finals with a win against the Top 4 Bears, and everything seemed to be golden, until...
The Mysterious Case 2 Matera92's ruined everything, and resulted in a re-sim which was replayed as a draw that meant the Furies agonisingly missed out on finals.

Immediately after the season ended, the FFFFC Camp was rocked by news of star player RodneyDangerfield taking his considerable talents to the Demons, and further retirements or disappearances from tigland and Gentlemen meant the club had shockingly lost 4 veteran players in the one season. Come Mobbenfuhrer Medal night, even after an abysmal 9th placed finish, the Furies featured prominently.
Inspirational winger Helen Wheels took home the TLFUA - Tiger Medal to go along with a Club Best and Fairest, whilst in the hotly contested EKA race, tgrs managed to sneak in at top spot, to go with a Nuffers Medal and ALL SFA selection. Sterge was recipient of the Captain's Trophy for his magnificent statistics work whilst akkaps, the Furies top poster, won the PHX Shield as Most Consistent and also finished 2nd in the Mobbs Medal count with 21 votes on the night. The Furies celebrated the individual honours, but rued a lost chance to be the #first2six, hoping the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Fighting Furies in Season 23 would prove the right formula for a favourable sim.

Punt Road Oval is essentially easily representable on the Minecraft map. The major conflict with the existing ground on MC is that the road you have called Brunton Ave, is actually Punt Road on the server. The one you've called Punt Road, doesn't have a name. The rreason why the other one is called Punt Rd is because it is effectively the road to the docks (of the suburb of Punt).

The only other conflict is that you seem to show the Grockadoc gates as the main entrance, wheras that is abutted close to the Sweet River shorefront in MC. The unnamed gates you have on what you call Punt Road, are where the current (and only) MC gates are.

Definitely resolvable conflicts.
