SFA PRESS RELEASE:

FURIES ON THE RISE

The Fighting Furies has entered the S27 season by revitalising itself from what many considered to be an archaic Richmond based club to one that is now prepared to change with the times and be a real force in the SFA landscape moving forward.

In a decisive move to remove some of the stench surrounding the club, the Furies Board of Directors have sacked S26 captain Naturaldisaster and unanimously appointed TJASTA as Captain and RFCTiger74 as VC. To further strengthen and invigorate the club two new members Tigerturbulance and PieLebo87 have been elevated to the leadership group. Tigerturbulance was recognised for his cultural and diversity work in threads and appointed as the HR & Equity Adviser. And for what is seen as a surprise move by some outside the club, from the Collingwood board PieLebo87 as Players Advocate.

Not only has the club been reinvigorated with the introduction of a new leadership group but the Furies have also unveiled their new dynamic logo featuring Taz as the new face of the Fighting Furies. The Board of Directors released a statement to their members saying “the rebranding makes it clear that we are prepared to move on from our original all Richmond past, and are prepared to trail blaze and reinvigorate ourselves in the competition going forward to make this club a go too destination for all SFA players”.

Fighting Furies Captain TJASTA said “the new visual statement signifies the Furies are a an ever-swirling force causing destruction wherever they go. Our new identity opens the way to reposition the Fighting Furies as a top tier SFA brand”.

Fighting Furies VC RFCTiger74 stated “This new look and feel has been developed in collaboration with Barrybran Marketing and our club members. We have kept two of the original Furies colours and discarded the yellow so as to move forward in a new exciting direction but not completely forget our heritage.”

HR Adviser Tigerturbulance stated “We at the Furies started to notice that many experienced players tend to gather in groups and primarily posted about how bad it is today and how good they were. Being relatively new players, we soon realized that this was a trap that we didn’t want to fall into and could see that the Fighting Furies was heading that way in regards to being too richmondish and non-inclusive of other club cultures, so it was time for a change, so as a collective we have stood up and taken the Furie by the balls”

Player Advocate PieLebo87 said “I am really excited to be part of this change; the Furies have been great and welcomed me in and even though traditionally a Collingwood supporter wouldn’t go near the Hippodrome I was surprised at the mix in this team, we’ve got a lot of players who are not Richmond fans and in fact the rebranding has come at a great time as most of the tigers of old play in other teams.”

It is indeed an exciting new dawn at a club that has certainly in recent history seen its share of turmoil and upheavals. As one walks around the Hippodrome you can feel the energy in the air and the excitement within the playing group, coaches and support staff, this is more than just re-badging, this is a club reinvigorated and a group prepared to forge its own path to glory.

PRESS RELEASE
Fighting Furies launch new Guernsey

The Fighting Furies have unveiled a new Guernsey which will be worn going forward Session 27. The change has been made to both the home playing kit and the away playing kit.

The striking design has kept 2 of the original Furies colours in homage of their heritage but has discarded the traditional Richmond yellow previously used. The design and creations were inspired by the artwork of Barrybran Marketing.

Tigerturbulance and rfctiger74 were the first players to pull on the new playing kit and said they will both wear it with immense pride.

“When I first saw the jumper, I was immediately struck by the boldness of the colors – it’s a strong image and has a wonderful story behind it,” rfctiger74 said.

“Running out in this jumper for the first game of Season 27 is going to be really special” stated Tigerturbulance

Fighting Furies Captain TJASTA said “We are making a bold move to disengage ourselves from the Richmond only Furies of the past and so have changed our logo and jumpers to move forward unencumbered. When discussing whether to change our jumper we wanted to ensure we kept something of the original design so we didn’t remove our past all together”.

The Furies are not prepared to sit back on their glorious history and have brought a whole new fresh look to the club, I predict exciting times ahead for this reinvigorated group.
