there way to many fights happening these days every weekend people are getting bashed or stabbed its out of control.two people fighting is fare l guess but 2 or more fighting one man is crazy and l hate people who king hit people for no reason.

with dickwads like your mate goading sports stars when they're out trying to enjoy themselves, is it any wonder some of them react the way they do?
good to see your mate backed it up by running away:rolleyes:

Calm down. I didnt say what he did was excusable. But he was young and wasted and did something stupid. You've never done anything dumb when you were young and on the piss?

Fights can become quite ridulous thesedays in the way they start and also end. I was at an at end of year break up party and everybody seemed happy enough. Then out of nowhere this guy flips out because someone "took his photo." Anyway he then smashed some bloke in the face breaking his nose straight away. I jumped in to try and stop it pretty quick but ended up getting blood all over me and actually held on guy by accident as he got hit a couple of times.

Then the guys mates rocked up with knives and shit looking to cause even more damage. What a way to end 13 years of school?

i went out after the races yesterday, was at cq nightclub and when trying to get my mate to leave when it looked like 2 blokes were having a go at him one of them headbutted me and kicked me.

i couldnt believe it, the bouncers jumped in before anything else could happen.

i wasnt badly hurt, but things like ruined sunglasses and a ripped shirt meant that all that money i made on the races equated to nothing really thanks to some angry wogs with a chip on their shoulder

i have learnt that the scum of society have nothing to lose in these situations thats why people with nothing going for them will always be keen to fight.

I'd like to hear the proper explanation from such a bloke regarding why he is so angry at life and reacts the way he does. These people need to be understood more, almost as much as they need to be wiped off the planet.

nail on head. they have nothing else in their lives to be proud of, with the exception of an overfinanced, hotted up wrx with subwoofers mate, they probably will still be living at home when 30 having mama making their dinner, doing their washing and making their beds while they go off to their day jobs driving a forklift around footscray market or doing blockies with their cousins in said wrx during the day waiting for their next dole cheque to come through. come the weekend, they are heroes because they assume they are equal with everyone again so they need to prove their superiority by fighting in gangs or picking on easy targets. these guys, from experience, don't lift a finger in a 1 on 1 situation when they have no back up around, that's what makes them even more pathetic. and more often than not, they will always carry weapons because they wouldn't know how to use their fists, although most of these clowns claim to know how to "kickbox mate"

I used to get in heaps, but am way past that shit now. Is a mug's game.

I don't start fights. I avoid confrontation if I can. I will finish them though. Not that I consider myself a hero, but I can handle myself if the need arises.

LOL.

Personally, I think ice and speed are to blame for the rrecent increase in violence.

I'm not sure. In Melbourne, despite what the HUN would have you believe, ice isn't nearly what it's made out to be. The HUN and co. love to sensationalise it, but there are much, much bigger concerns out there IMO. Is not even a drop in the ocean compared the havoc alcohol reaks.

Newsflash: YOU are the problem with this violence. Don't even bother trying to disassociate yourself to it because you are "past" it.

You are a dog of a human being and do not belong in my society. I'll leave it at that.

I have been in about 2-3 fights in my time out in Melbourne nightclubs. That is about 1 every 1.5 years. I don't start them however it's not my fault if you want to get knocked out. There are places where fights generally don't occur so just head to them. If you go to the drug nightclubs and the places with lots of fully sick bros chances are decent that something will occur.

From my uncle:
Ok, so freak accidents happen, but boys will be boys and boys have been sorting out their altercations with a bit of biffo since the dawn of man. I think a fight or two helps a young man sort himself out and figure out who he is, but the world has gone soft. A lot of violence is unecessary, but some of it is character building. When I was younger I went to the States and proudly told them how in Australia we'd sort things out with a blue and at the end of it we'd generally agree to disagree, shake hands and get on with things rather than resort to weapons like the Americans.

Girls used to sort things out with words, and feuds between them would last for months. Boys would take it down to the park and sort it out then and there. The kid that lost would have to accept that he had lost and get over whatever greivance he had. There was honour in those fights and even though everythig was on the line, people prided themselves on fighting a good clean fight. Nowadays, kids are soft and have grown up in kleenex castles.

From my uncle:
The problem is not that the fights are occuring, it's where and when they are occuring. You never hear about a fight during the day at a pub do you? It's only at night when people are drunk that they happen. These people don't even know each other usually and the reason for punching on is shit like "you spoke to my girlfriend", "you looked at me funny" etc

 People don't drink during the day? I've seen plenty of fights during the day. The cricket always gets them, the football will get an occasional one, the races get them, musical festivals get them and some "rowdy" pubs can burst at any moment. Alcohol is a common denominator but so is ********s and big shots. Too many people trying to be tough...

Disagree with what BBC's uncle said, especially when some bloke loses vision in one eye for life, or another smacks his head on the concrete, cracks his skull and ends up spending weeks in the ICU.

'Honourable' fights don't exist these days, they're 100x worse.

Was crossing the track on Saturday @ Flemington and was behind a fair crowd of people heading the same way. Anyway, a bloke gently put his arm on a girl's shoulders to politely tell her to move a little; so he could go around them. The boyfriend said 'don't touch my girl'. The walking past guy said 'I didn't mate' with a bit of a funny/surprised face. The boyfriend swung his fist and got this guy right in the nose, blood pouring out and what looked like a broken nose (looked flat). The guy was about to hit back, but said boyfriend took a couple of steps back then people came to seperate them. Then security came not long after, and the guy didn't end up getting his chance to hit back. That's crap, felt sorry for the big wog walking past because he looked rather harmless.

lol...yeah, you do that. Take your tears elsewhere, ***. :thumbsu:

Put it this way. It takes two to fight, but I'm not about to let some ******** push me around or treat me like shit, and although I will wait until I have the right to self defence before I react (to cover my arse) I'm not going to try and avoid a fight at all costs. I'm not going to be a little bitch and let people walk all over me just because I'm scared of a small risk that comes with a hit to the head.

I play football every weekend during Winter and hits to the head are part and parcel of being a good in and under player - boxing is a big part of my preseason training regime. Therefore, if someone really, really wants to go, I'll give it to them. I know some people who are that frightened of getting hit in the face or head they almost wet themselves if there's a slight risk of violence when they're out. I say, if you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen... If you can't handle the possibility of a bit of violence, stay at home and lock the door.
