I've heard rumours for the past week..and my mate told me he heard something on the radio..apparently it will be announced soon..

I think its unlikely or it would have been announced with the others last week.
As far as I'm aware the first list lodged needs to be maximum 35 players, including rookie elevations and nominated rookies.

From 38 listed senior players we have lost 4 delisted (Teague, McLaren, Raso, Flint) and 2 retired (Kouta, Lappin).

That's 32.
We have room to bring up Jackson and Aisake, and probably have Jamison as the nominated rookie.

That would still be 34 (rookie not counted).

So we don't need to delist anyone else before the first list lodgement and we probably won't until:
A) we know about Lance's knee
and
B) after trade week.

There are three lodgements.
The first is a maximum of 35 players including rookie elevations and nominations and is at the end of October.

Trade week is at the start of October.

I don't expect any more delistings until after trade week, just prior to the first lodgement - again, unless Lance gets bad news this week.

Changes can be made right up to the PSD in December, so if there are several decent players in the PSD, we can delist more to free up spots.

Maybe a little unlucky due to injury, but never really got going again afterwards.

You'd hope he might get a shot somewhere, but reality is that he has been cut without geting a senior game and one of the worst eams in the AFL. Can't see too many clubs picking over our discards, but best of luck to him.

thats true. I was hopeing that maybe he would get selected by carlton again in the rookie draft, as he is more of a long term prospect, and spend another 2 years on the rookie list developing.

The only reason i think this would be a chance to occur is because maybe ratten wouldn't have promoted him of the rookie list last year and that he wanted another spot vacant for someone else on the list this year, plus they have already given him two years worth of development at an afl club so he might be a better rookie selection than some other smoky. Is this any chance or am i just being to optimistic?

Yeah its a possibility. They abviously rated him to promote him, but just didn't look good at all after his (?) broken leg.

They may re-rookie him if thats possible given the work they have put in, but maybe its time to cut our losses.

I think so,would you take him in the draft if he was available,like a late pick? I hope he gets re rookied,showed a lot that 1 season,he was coming back from a injury. I guess i know why they delisted him to have some picks in the draft and by having a young side the young guys picked late or rookie need to have no bad luck in injuries after the recycled old players get cut as the contracted hacks won't be delisted this year.

Could be or maybe Ratten looked at our list and thought who this guy Flint,i don't remember him in the draft,lol as if i'm correct he wasn't with us last year when he got promoted. I was surprised he didn't get a game agains't Melbourne when he said i want to try all the players who haven't played,i think he was the only uninjured player on the list that could play that junk game but didn't get a shot.

Could be or maybe Ratten looked at our list and thought who this guy Flint,i don't remember him in the draft,lol as if i'm correct he wasn't with us last year when he got promoted.

He was on our rookie list last year. Did well, was going to be elevated but got injured. Was elevated at the end of the year. I would think Ratten would know who all of our players are and nobody would be delisted for being anonymous.

Yep. Never sure when they say player x has re-signed for a reported X dollars...........how do they know?

Do they guess the ball park figure or is it leaked?

How do we ever know the value, but that is what they reported.

They also said Scotty was after $400k and wasn't being offerred it.......again, leaked and accurate or a guess?

We currently have 34 primary listed players and 2 rookies. We will add 4 more to the primary list and 4 more rookies, one probably being Shields the Irish lad.

We will use 1, 36, 46 in the national draft and 2 in the preseason draft, giving us our 38 listed players. As we have no veterans we will be allowed to have a nominated rookie who can play seniors any time in 2008. This will be Jamison.

Not sure about that AJ. If they are filling positions 35-38 in the side and are experienced depth it is not all bad. Imagine having 38 players who are all worthy of being in your best 22. You would be losing them constantly to other clubs. Some players fill a decent role (Bannister) but nobody else wants them so they are content to wait for their chances.
