Re: Retirements/Delistings/Drafting/Promotions

tomorrows training session i would assume would be the day!!

unless he thinks he can get traded or picked up in pre season draft!
No. He is well aware that his career is over.

Was back up Shepparton way when he broke his arm. Gave an interview to the local paper about his future and basically said if he couldn't get a senior game when he came back from his broken arm then it would be curtains and he would more than likely head back up their way.....captain/coach type thing.
Would be a huge asset for a country club.

Good luck Teaguey.:thumbsu:

Agree that we should have 3 promotions which is a fantastic result for our recruiting staff re - rookies.'

Jacobs may be lucky to keep his spot.

Re: Retirements/Delistings/Drafting/Promotions

We need to delist 9 players

Lappin- Rookie Prom- Jamison
Kouta- Rookie Promo- Jackson
Mclaren- Rookie Promo- Aisakie
Teague- Pick 1
Raso- Pick 3
Saddington- Pick 19
Bannister- Pick 35
Flint- Pick 51
Whitnall/Wiggins- Pick 67

That is about the way I see it. Taking into consideration that Acland is contracted and Cloke has potential.

wiggins is also contracted.

Re: Retirements/Delistings/Drafting/Promotions

Wiggins has a year left on his contract.

Sign him on for another three if you ask me!

Yeah I can't really back up why we should re-sign him, but lets just wait and see how he goes in his final year of his contract.

I can see him having a good year under the rat.

Re: Retirements/Delistings/Drafting/Promotions

I've seen this logic applied before and as is usually the case I note your careful omission of Dunstall, Kernahan and Lloyd.

It's like asking why you'd go for a smart player who gets plenty of the ball, uses it well and has a booming kick. I mean after all, Buckley never won a GF

ask for logic..All the players i mentioned have had some sort of issue or scandal in their playing times..The players you mentioned are absolute champions!!!

Re: Retirements/Delistings/Drafting/Promotions

I see this a bit differently, and think there may be only 7 delistings in all

Firstly, O'hAilpins promotion has already been announced, and Jackson's would seem a formality.

Jamison will stay on the rookie list if recent history is any guide (players only tend to be promoted when they have to be either promoted or delisted and Jammo can stay put for another year.

So, starting point of 38 on the list + 2 rookies = 40.

As for the draft, we could easily use only 4 picks in a shallow draft (1,3, 20 and 36) + 1 PSD. Therefore, may be enough to get the list down to 33 pre draft.

Which means delisting 7

2 are already done (Kouta and Lappin), so 5 more

You'd think D Mac, Teague, Flint and Raso choose themselves.

As a result, it may well be that in addittion to the above only 1 of Wiggins, Saddington, Whitnall, Bannister and Edwards gets the arse.

Re: Retirements/Delistings/Drafting/Promotions

IMO we should draft as many tall athletic types this year with our later picks people like Westhoff (a tall kpp) port got him around 70th pick and he has turned out great.

just a theory :thumbsu:

i think we need runners not just tall players, for example the hawks dont have many talls but they run the lines to punish other teams, thats what we need runners runners and runners

Firstly I just want to say what a pitiful attempt at trying to alter your meaning after the fact. I think it was pretty obvious you were talking about gun forwards, but ok, I'll play along and change tack with you just to push the point.

If you're genuine in your assertion that players with issues/scandals don't win flags...... I note your careful omission of Pike, Cousins, Fletcher, Hall, Akermanis, Carey...... the list goes on.

As for your claim that the players you originally listed had issues or scandals, I need some further explanation:

Richardson - if you're talking about being a little sulky
Lockett - maybe a bit grumpy and played rough but what was his issue / scandal?
Ablett - sure, this guy had some issues, but he almost single handedly won the Cats a flag.
Modra - Not sure what he did wrong in your eyes
Rocca - WTF

I can understand you wanting to double back and defend yourself, but if you really believe what you have written when combining those 2 posts, you're clueless IMO.

Re: Retirements/Delistings/Drafting/Promotions

Swann was quoted saying something along the lines that Aisake would be recovered from his surgery and ready to go by the start of pre-season, which would just about confirm that he will be promoted. :thumbsu:
It was a much stronger indication than that.
It gave the impression it was a formality.
Can't remeber the exact quote, but I'm sure there is a thread on it from when it happenned.:thumbsu:
