I'd have thought :-

B: D. Wirrpunda A. McIntosh D. Banfield
HB: A. Hunter D. Glass K. Green
C: A. Embley B. Cousins C. Judd
HF: R. Jones T. Gaspar D. Chick
F: P. Matera D. Haynes A. Sampi
R: M. Gardiner, D. Kerr, C. Fletcher

Interchange: K. Munro, J. Humm G. Jakovich M. Braun

Then Rotate Jako and Gaspar at CHF

I can't see Jako going into the middle for a centre bounce.

The only other player I can see going into the middle for a centre bounce is Gaspar.

As I said, I didn't think both McDoogs & Gaspar would play.

Interesting that Munro has kept his place and that Glass is ahead of Carroll this week.

Unless Gardy is shot, you only need one ruckman against the Dogs.

What if he goes down during the first quarter?

Unless Gaspar has some uncanny unknown rucking ability we are all not privy to, I don't understand the stance they are taking.

We've actually gone shorter- out, two talls in Cox and Carroll, in, one tall in Gaspar, and Fido.

Seriously, Woosh seems to have a fetish for short people. I wonder if someone is feeling a little inadequate :)

IT shouldn't come into play against the Dogs since we should expect a solid win no matter what, but if we did drop this game, our selection committee need to take a good long hard look at themselves- the Dogs achilles heel is their lack of height, by shortening ourselves up we're playing into their hands. I have this nightmare where Gardy goes down, and then Gaspar retwinges his hamstring. The result of that is... not good.

Braun, Humm and Munro can count themselves bloody lucky- the latter two have done squat basically throughout the season, the fact that they're still getting games ahead of some of the consistent WAFL performers really makes a bit of a mockery of the 'reward form' policy.

I would love to see Doogs play his first AFL game in Perth as his only 2 games were played in Canberra and Docklands last year.

I would have also played Doogs over Gaspar if Woosha was using WAFL form as a guide. Gaspar didn't set the world on fire on Monday, while Doogs has been consistantly been getting in the Top 3 for Perth each week as a roving CHF/Ruck role.

Yes agreed, but i guess Woosha is getting the results so he must be doing something right. Just reckon players like wooden and adkins could be doing SO MUCH MORE than humm munro etc, and while Carroll has been servicable players like Lynch and Doogs may have been more than servicable. Just wait and see i guess:) PLEASE DONT GET INJURED GASSY AND GARDY!

Doogs was SOOOO close. Disappointing :(

Not sure what we are going to do with the ruck situation? Munro, Humm and Hunter are all lucky, so is Braun but to be fair to him, he hardly played last week.

Still we could see some changes on Sunday? Doogs may yet get a game!

Weather forecast for sunday is chilly but fine, so the weather is no rationale for leaving him out. Now, if only Munro has 'general soreness' (a term which, in my mind, I've always thought meant 'general soreness at the coach for being a prick and leaving me out at the last minute.') just before the game we might be right.

Well, we'll see who actually plays when the teams run out, although as it's a Sunday game and none of the 3 emergencies named plays for East Perth, who have the WAFL bye, it looks like that's final.

I'd question the wisdom of mucking about with what's working. All year, people have been slagging Woosha because our forward line is too short - yet we've kicked more than anybody in the entire league. It is a team game.

The Bulldogs game plan is based around run and run and chip and run - but they don't really (yet) have the skills to do it. On the other hand, our game is based on win the ball, run, use it well, kick a goal - and we do have the skills and the people to do it.

I don't think a team with McIntosh Jakovich Embley Chick Haynes Gardiner Hunter Glass and Gaspar lacks talls. Granted only Gardy is a real class AFL ruckman, but Gaspar and Jako could do a serviceable job pinchhitting against Darcy (what if he gets injured? Dogs don't have a backup plan) and at the end of the day, that won't be where the game is won (this week).

It's more of a risk to go in too tall and be run off our feet. I do agree that Braun, Humm and Munro have a tenuous grip on a first team place, but that's healthy. I'd like to know what Wooden has done - he's been in the best just about every week for Subi.

I actually think that this is probably the best forward line that we have. It will be interesting to see it oporate on Sunday.

I read in the paper this morning that Fletcher is having problems and will have to face a fitness test before he can play.

Woosha wouldn't bother playing games like that I don't think.

And to be honest, it's only going to be McDougall's third game, so he isn't gonna set the world on fire if he plays on Sunday. It wouldn't give us any advantage whether we named him in the final team, or brought him in on Sunday.

I agree. God did we suffer under KJ, remember? Well last season was good and so far we've been fantastic. Sureley this is a time for faith and praise.

I remember Gaspar rucking when ball was forward and doing very well btw.

As for Josh and Callum, they must be feeling down but I have a gut feeling that at the business end of the season we will see some fresh players making a difference.

( probably a way off thought but with EP having a bye there is the sneaky otion of making a last minute chane, bringing in BB, that would surprise the dogs)

It will be interesting to see who the Eagles bring in if Fletcher doesn't come up. Morrison has been listed to play for Swans so the emergencies left are Carroll and MacDougall - two talls.

Maybe MacDougall will play his first game for the year and we carry the extra tall......(hopefully Fletcher will come up and none of this will be a problem)

I have to admit i had a bit of a grin when I read that Fletcher was having a problem with his leg, and was doing all of his kicking right footed- just for morbidity's sake, it would be sort of interesting to see what sort of player Fletch would be if he had to use his right foot!!!

Or did he?

According to the WAFL home page:

Perth

No Name TD K H M HR G B T FF FA I50 BG

5 ADKINS Damien 27 17 10 6 8 1 0 3 0 1 2 0

29 McDOUGALL Andrew 16 13 3 5 2 0 1 1 2 2 5 0

So McDougall did play.

Also, not a bad game from Chad:

Swan Districts

No Name TD K H M HR G B T FF FA I50 BG

19 MORRISON Chad 28 18 10 9 7 1 1 2 1 2 6 9

25 HANSEN Ashley 19 12 7 12 0 6 0 5 0 1 3 9

33 JOHNSON Paul 19 11 8 5 1 1 1 1 1 3 1 9

I had the pleasure of being at Joondalup to see the Mighty Falcons destroy an in-form Claremont.

46 CARROLL Trent 14 10 4 5 3 0 0 1 3 2 3 5 did OK, although he did hilariously run too far on one occasion.

Lynch (4 straight, including 3 huge stright ones from nearly in the centre square, it was like he was doing it for a bet) and Seaby were excellent again. Callum obviously suffered with the hand (Luke Dwyer spent most of the first half hitting it) and didn't reappear after half-time except to limp to the huddle. Rudeforth was carried off early, apparently dead and in a neck brace, but got 13 possessions, so must have come back. Troy Longmuir was brilliant again, kicking 5 goals, so no doubt he won't play for Freo next week.

So, if Fletch can't play and all 3 emergencies have played - what will Woosha do?

Well, Fletch must be fit then. Either that or Willo or one of the other East Perth boys may come in (can't think of many others ready for selection but....

I read that some of you are hoping Fletch doesnt come up?? Why?

We survive on beating teams out of the middle, Fletcher being unavailable would severely hinder our advantage! I like McDougall and hope he gets a game soon but I want to win. Chad Fletcher would help us do that.
