Since 2003 ive been waiting to say it, finally now i can, with a big loud voice and big smile on my face BYE BYE SHEEDY.

Everyone saying how much we have improved this year, wake up and smell the coffee we are an ordinary side that got lucky. We beat two of the teams below us by less than a kick, we were lucky against sydney and west coast and adelaide.

Everyone keeps saying "look at how good our kids are" Who? WHich kids?
Looks to me like the best players week in and week out are Pev, Hille, Mcveigh, Lucas and Fletch, so which kids are you all talking about? Stants? He is hardly a young player, he has been at the club for a few years now.
Davey? We got lucky with him, but remember we all had a very high opinion of lovett in his first year and he has gone missing.
Ryder? Played some good games and is developing quite nicely, but watching him a few times he still has a very very long way to go.
Slattery? PLaying OK, but still to really do anything ultra impressive
Nash? Has been around for a couple of years is doing ok, but again he isnt going to be the next judd, kerr or cousins is he?
Jetta? Played a couple of good games at the start and seems to have lost his way.
Gumbleton? Played ok last week, but then again look at selwood and gibbs they are playing well week in week out.
Houli? PLayed a couple of decent games but needs to get back into the side to develop.

Basically the club has been on the skids since we lost the granny, we recruited some ordinary players and relied on top ups to keep us going. With teh going of Sheeds maybe we can put a stop to the rot, BYE BYE SHEEDY HEllo someone (hopefully) with a game plan, fresh ideas and a brain.

Isnt he like 21 or 22.

I agree if only Gumby could be as consistent as a first year midfielder, it's not it's hard to walk straight into AFL and dominate lets burn him, hell lets burn them all!!!

Agree 100%!!!

its hard for gumbelton to play well week-in-week-out when hes only played 2 games. Unfair to compare him to midfielders who have played close to every game this year (eg, gibbs, selwood).

chuck in one of andy lee, chartres or darcy daniher becoming a good defender and chris masten and i'm liking the look of our future.

You goose! I bet you were rejoicing loudly when we claimed last year's grand finalists. No need to go into Mal's addition to the side and its effect on Fletcher's season. Winders' improvement goes without saying, as goes for Ryder's.

Nah, no positives whatsoever.

Now I know how Macpie can access our board, because you clearly aren't an essendon supporter.

Lets have a look at the players you mentioned...

Ryder: Young ruckman who has played in defence all year and kept his spot in only his second year. Very promising player and has played very well. Will be up there in terms of rising star.

Nash: FInally getting some time on the field after years of injury and is looking the goods. Despite low fitness base because of early injuries has played consistently well and lovely foot skills.

Stants: Yeah once you've been at the club for over a year your a verteran hey? PLayed very well early on and is struggling with an ankle injury now. Is only 21. Looks to be part of our future midfield.

Davey: Worst comment of the post i think, and believe there is a lot of competition for that award. How can you get lucky? Does that mean every failed pick is due to abd luck. Seriously think before typing. Give the recruitment guys some credit for a veyr smart trading decision.

Good to see you expect first year players to win a brownlow...

Houli: Was pick 42. how many players picked that low play consistently well in their first year? PLayed a few good senoir gaems and playing well for Bendigo- looks the goods to me. But how could you rate him yet? it's his first year.

Jetta: Was fantastic against adeliade, and has struggled with injury for much of the season. Should we also write Judd off after his groing injury?

Gumbleton: Yeah Gibbs has dominated from teh back pocket ahsn't he? He is a KPP if you knew anything about footy you'd know they take a lot longer to mature. Also he has been set back with injury.

Now onto who you missed in the vile garbage you claim to be a post...

Winderlich: Stepped up this year. Quick and runs hard with good skills. Looks to be finally fulfilling the potential he has always had.

Watson: What a champ thsi guy is. Superb around the clearances and has taken his game up another level lately.

By the way, Hille in the bests every week? that is ridiculous. Pev? Yeah he's really been carrying this team

Also, how is it luck when you come back after getting smashed in teh first quarter liekw e did against west coast. Also how is it luck when you win by 5 goals liek against adelaide. Was it luck that we were in front by a few goals in the last quarter against Sydney?

BTW, BomberAce7 you are a joke for siding with either a collingwood or carlton supporter.

And last year we lost 7 games by less that 3 goals or something like that, all without Lloyd.

You can say could, should and would have all you want. Fact is, we have won 9 games this year, and that is 6 more than we won last year. It is a clear improvement.

sydney and west coast won a grand final by less than a kick, did they get lucky???

First of all I am an Essendon supporter and have been my entire life. I love the club, i go week in week out and have done since i can remember.

Secondly a few glarring points need to be responded to, some peanut commented that West Coast and Sydney won GF by a point, hey moron they were in a grand final. Surely you cant say we played well against richmond and melbourne? (two teams below us). Sydney and WCE we played well, the boys were fired up, it was great, but we were lucky.

We lost 7 games last year by less than 3 goals without lloyd (lloyd is a shadow of the player he used to be).

If you looked at about more then half of the teams in the competion you could say exactly the same about there list. Does it really matter where we are going to be in the future? No it doesn't alot can happen between now and the then. Who knows we could pick up some real good kids in the draft coming up and we already have picked up a few in recent years. I don't know how you can make an opion on kids who haven't played yet and kids whom have only played a handful of games. Stop worrying about the then and focus on the now. If you are going to post this dribble then i suggest you do it on some other forum. Because the rest of us we don't give a f/ark.

I am focusing on now and Im saying we are in trouble because we arent playing good football, we have improved only marginally this year.

The older guys are still our best players.

Our assistant coaches are hopeless

For all our drafting we still have a slow midfield

We lack onfield discipline

OUr best player is James Hird who will retire at the end of the year.

We are half a game out of the 8 and we drop three of our better players this year for MJ, Campo?

OUr younger players are ok, but the ones that are 21-22 like laycock, nash, winder, lovett and so on need to be stepping up more consistently and not just floating in and out of games.

Other players dont know whether they are arthur or martha, one minute they are forward the next they are back, one minute they are a potential midfielder, then they are back pockets. I dont know of any other club that throws its players around so much.

We have spent too much time and energy on players who will never make it, Bradley and Johns and Cole

There are some shining lights- Davey, McVeigh, Watson.

Some of the players have egos bigger than their abilities- Jetta, Lovett.

Im looking forward to a new coach who might be able to provide the club with some onfield discipline, a plan and a structure that allows them time to settle, one that gives the younger players time to settle into the side, one who knows how to rotate the bench, one who cuts away the dead wood at the club and one who can help this club be where it should be. Sheedy was a great coach, but his time was up, finished with, time to move on. Since 2002 we have been on the slide, he doesnt have the long term ideas to bring us back up, hence i say, with a big smile, BYE BYE SHEEDY

Stop saying we, we all know you aren't an Essendon supporter from your clear lack of knowledge. For example how has our drafting left us with a slow midfield? Lovett, Dempsey, Winderlich, Jetta, Nash are all quick. Davey can pinch hit in the midfield as well. See you obviously dont have a clue.

By the way you're an idiot for once again buying into the "OMG Jetta has such a big ego because he did one thing wrong".

You haven't been hit by a bus huh?

That's a shame.

Slattery doesnt get the praise he deserves. He does his job consistently week in, week out. I've been most impressed by him this year out of that original list by 'byebyesheedy'.
