Finals Barcodes & Tickets

Received a finals update email a few days ago saying they will send "unique member codes". Has anyone received an email since? Is it just our existing member codes?
Received that email too - but nothing since from the club...
However I have just discovered that the barcode is on the Freo App...
Once you've gone through the wringer with updating ticketmaster, do the same with the Freo App, log in and tap 'My Barcodes' - it/they will be there under Finals...

Be prepared for some pain.

Crows fan Andrew said he was also stuck behind more than 25,000 other buyers, and despite making every Crows home game for the season, “it counts for nothing come finals”.

Tricia Phillips said she spent two hours on the “stupid website”, but was fortunate to score some tickets - “up in the nosebleeds now”.

“Worst experience we’ve ever had trying to get tickets,” she said.

Wheelchair-bound fan Anthony Fox hoped others that needed accessible seating had “better luck” than he.

“I got a message, (saying) ‘restricted’, you can’t contact Ticketek and talk to anyone so I missed out because I’m in a wheelchair,” Mr Fox said.

But most supporters had the same thing to say: That it’s a pretty normal problem come finals.

“Managed to get a couple of tickets for the Crows final after an almost 90-minute wait in the queue,” Robert Douglas said.

“Seriously, Ticketek and Adelaide FC have had how many years to sort out the mess. S**t show - as always.”

While fans struggled online, the lucky crowd at the Entertainment Centre travelled from far and wide to secure their tickets, with some arriving as early as 2.30am to queue in the rain and blistering cold at the western suburbs Ticketek booth.

Steven Nguyen, 26, from Valley View, was lining up for the first time – with his laptop on standby while he waited to log on for work.

The 26-year-old was one of the younger faces in the crowd and said he hoped to snag four tickets for himself and his mates.

i don't think it will be as bad considering how large of a fan base collingwood has compared to gold coast. hopefully ticketmaster doesn't shit the bed like ticketek.

Our game is with Ticketmaster, so hopefully it works better than Ticketek.

I'm also suspicious about these people who say they have been in a 90 minute or 2 hour queue. My gut tells me they are doing something like refreshing constantly (and resetting their spot in the queue). Some people will advise to use windows open in multiple browsers ... I'm not convinced whether this works or not. It depends on how you do it and what the ticketing site is doing ... it could see multiple attempts from the same I.P. address and block you out.

Team please don't post actual barcodes here as they're viewable by the internet.
Use PMs to communicate with the person you've selected, or get in contact with one of the mods if you have spares you'd like to offer up.

I personally received my barcode by email 20 minutes ago.

Has it been noted anywhere how much of a split GC members have at optus?

Surely they only get like 5000 seats

I'm not sure there would actually be an allocation. I thought it was just first in, best dressed. So there might only be 50 GC members at the game.

I could be wrong though, as it doesn't quite seem right if we were hosting a final against WC and it ended up a 50-50 crowd.

I think you're right which is absolute shit because the suns are flogging off $1 memberships with access to priority 2

They should be cordoned off into their own allocation imo

I don’t mean to brag but just got my tickets… Can’t bloody wait!!!!!!!! 💜💜💜💜

Checked my email and had an email for priority access to tickets for sports lounge etc.

Hoping it’s not wet and hope we win comfortably!! 😬
At about 1/3 the price of the season membership they weren't cheap, hope the food and drink service can keep up.
Enjoy!

Hi guys

10 year lurker here, I'm chasing one barcode for my mate, if anyone's feelings generous please hit me up.

Go Freo

Cheers

In terms of selecting seats, my memory is that you can’t choose by block or anything, yeah? Like you just get offered some seats, and if you don’t like you give them up and it searches again (only to offer you seats in pretty much the exact same location)?

I’m asking because someone has told me they were able to choose seats their specific seats back in 2022.

Anyone have tips please for successful booking? I’m doing ours(several Tier Ones & then another Tier 2, hopefully all together). Done it several times before with ok results but find it quite nerve-wracking. Also I never know how early to start queuing?
I am pretty sure that if you want to use a Priority 2 barcode in amongst your Priority 1 barcodes, you’ll have to wait until the Priority 2 window opens.

I asked the right person to ask this to. You cannot use Priority 2 barcodes during the priority 1 period.

If you want to use all together you must wait till priority 2 period.

It sounds like the ticket allocation is way more complicated in the AFL then NRL for finals.

I recall for Finals in 2017-2022 when my team Parra was actually in finals in the NRL as a season ticket holder/member we got a code to use on ticketek and as members got first access.

In 2019 & 2022 at our home ground we got 1hr access code to activate our season ticket seat for the semi final before that seat went on sale for all members for the next 24 hours members got priority.

Then the following day was general public.

So that semi final we got to sit in our season ticket seat

Which was a pure joy when we flogged the Broncos 58-0.

But yeah surely the AFL and the club could figure out a system for season ticket holders to sit in there own seat if they give them an 1hr to activate there code and pay for that seat before other members get access.

You can tell a lot of the oldies still do it the traditional way lining up at a ticket office haha.

You get an hour to grab a ticket, so if you want to guarantee a spot then just make sure you do it in that hour

AFL runs finals ticketing though, thats why seats can't be allocated, they hold different tickets for different corporate things etc (They also freeze ticket prices, I'm pretty sure the cheapest ticket is going to be $35, which is actually cheaper than our normal cheapest ticket for home and away games $39 due to the catch all states freeze) Nope cheap tix are restricted so not quite

You actually get a bit of flexibility to sit with people with this system, if you all input your priority barcodes together then you can be seated with mates that don't normally sit with you, which is pretty cool.

Pros and cons to every system I guess
