For the first time in almost 40 years, I don't think I am even going to bother watching/listening to next week's Grand Final. Thanks for that, Fremantle.

I haven't watched a Grand Final since we lost the 97 preliminary final.

My family and friends always question my reasons for not wanting to join in the GF Day but I simply get too pissed off thinking about how the Bulldogs have never played in a GF since 1961. The 97 prelim was enough forme and I have said I won't watch another GF until the Bulldogs play in one. Probably wont ever see another GF?

I may be a bitter bugger but finals time brings out the worst jealousy in me.

I could never imagine missing a grand final even though I am very jealous like others. Next week the pressure will be immense in the game and will be awesome to watch, being a neutral also means I can just sit and enjoy an amazing game of football.

The Chicago Swans are having their usual AFL Grand Final party at a tavern in the city. Last year would have been fun. When the GF was shown on our cable network for a few years, I would make homemade sausage rolls and have hot chips and vinegar and have a Boag's Premium Lager which I bought in Cincinnati each year.

Damn, I'll probably stay up and listen to the broadcast on 774 anyway. Old habits are hard to break. I went to 25 Grand Finals from 1976-1994. So this will be Grand Final #40 that I have either been at, watched on TV, watched online or listened to online. I came all the way from Perth for the 1989 GF. We drove straight through and arrived in Melbourne at 2am GF morning. I was at the MCG for the Reserves GF at about 11am. It was worth the long drive.

for all the bullshit about Hayes, R Harvey etc there is probably no player more deserving of a premiership medal in the comp than Crowley.

I'm another oldie and I miss the days when you could sit in front of TV on GF day and watch U19s, Reserves and Seniors GFs

Each game built up the excitement leading up to the big one

Great entertainment with no crap music acts

It still absolutely perplexes me how on earth we lost it...... It perplexes my poor old mum too who is now 63... All we needed was one Fuc*ing Goal in the last quarter. I was so pissed off that Mark West missed as that bastard deserved to kick the goal, as he was awesome in the 2nd quarter of the game to get us the break......

Its as if someone at our club has massively pissed off "God" and no matter what on earth we do, we just wont make a grand final ! Silly way of looking at it, but it sure feels that way sometimes.... lol !

I still have full faith that we will win one again soon....

And i dont care what anyone else says, we still have won 10 premierships in total as a club , so all is not lost.....

Crowley to Mitchell for me. Mitchell was Hawthorn's clearances on friday and simply kept shelling it inside 50 for them in the last quarter. Just about always hurts you too. Burgoyne's just about never played four quarters so shouldn't require a tag.

If Crowley is conscious after the opening bounce then Hawthorn simply are not serious about winning. I'd have his head removed from his shoulders if it was the dogs in a GF.
