I went to the nrl to watch my team get beat tonight at ANZ next door to spotless.

Got cheered up after the game and saw a west coast fan leaving spotless early cause the afl finished later. And some random person yelling out at least we didn't have to fly 5 hours from perth to watch those eagles get flogged

Some being rather harsh on here. Luckily, I've been hearing all week that 'we have nothing to lose'. So they'd be feeling good tonight. Oh, and did you all know that the WAFL competition is broken?

Wtf were West Coast doing bringing in Wellingham?

Stevie J is finished and managed to kick 4 goals in a quarter on him... WTF?
6 goals for a cooked Stevie? Wellingham was playing 10 metres off him yet lining up right on him after every goal when they would show Stevie, I couldn't understand it as it was happening.

Totally bewildering. Stevie J is finished, unless you don't respect him, which is what happened.

Both these teams recruited older players for a tilt at the finals. Giants got it right with Stevie J and de Boer imo. WC made their need for a rebuild deeper and longer. Badly misread their list.

It's funny how the win against Adelaide which saw them sneak into finals took a lot of heat off Simpson and the list management team. Then when they beat a horrible and massively overrated team in Port Adelaide the lid was off.

That was the Eagles biggest finals loss ever I think?

Priddis had 23 Contested Possessions. Quite clearly West Coasts best inside mid. West Coasts' next best was Redden and Shuey with 12 each.

2018 will be very interesting to see how West Coast's midfield goes. Nic Nat might have to learn to tap 15 metres to Gaff as he sprints away from the contest.

even though I'm used to the sycophantic drivel from the media here I was actually slightly bemused by how big a deal they made of the extra time win against Port, making out like they were a genuine chance for the premiership rather than just making up the numbers.

I loved on Sportstalk yesterday morning this old bloke rang up and asked Duffield in a rather passive aggressive, smarmy tone if he wanted to retract his comments that the Eagles were too old and too slow & can't run our games, made before the Port game. Duffield utterly schooled him, said it just proved his point that the Eagles after being 5 goals up were then outplayed for 3 quarters and fell over the line because Port couldn't kick straight. And that the Eagles would get smashed by GWS's run.

Good on Duffield. Really highlights the blinkered vision of not only their supporters, but the club itself.

Not quite, but it made the podium.

77 points: 1996 SF v Essendon.
70 points: 1998 QF v WB's.

It was, however, their fewest number of scoring shots in a final ever.

its always the most ignorant people who think everyone needs to hear their wisdom and ring in to talkback radio.
Duffield utterly owned him and he deserved it. Sickeningly patronising and passive aggressive. Laughing as if Duffield was an idiot to question the great Priddis and Mitchell.

Agree with Priddis and Mitchell retiring they need extractors. Shuey will get obliterated as the only other decent ball winner

But: Priddis is the single biggest reason why they get obliterated midfield. If Priddis doesn't win the ball they're fcuked. The opposition stuctures up to run off him and they may as well be one down in the guts
