Damn, I feel for you!

I was put on MCC at birth (like most) and got the call up at 16, postponed because I couldn't bring a guest. Took it up at 18 and I'm now 34. I was forced into full membership over 10 years ago. How did you managed to not upgrade already if you joined 3 years after me?!

So I'm paying ~$700 for MCC and ~$50 for RFC. Stupid idiot (me!) forgot to enter the GF ballot... so stupid idiot (me!) will have to join the queue GF morning, if we make it.
I was signed up in 1993 and I believe they are offering full memberships to 1991 signups so hopefully not too much longer to go. Just in time for next years GF perhaps ;)

Nothing like a club who has a record of failing on the big stage , getting ahead of itself.
We have won 1 final against an injury depleted side and all of a sudden we are considering a GF.
WS or WC are very good sides who have attributes which will worry our side no doubt. If we are 1% off we will get our pants pulled down.
I get it is only pre planning for something we are a 50/50 chance but is it really necessary before being in the GF is confirmed ?
Enjoy no doubt , however it is difficult to forget that shit that has consistently been delivered after media build up, including this year.
In order to have any chance of attending the Grand Final if we do happen to make it, if you're a member you had to register yesterday. No one is getting ahead of themselves.

Put in for 3 x tickets in the P3 ballot... don't hold out much hope and have already started planting the seed with a few people who are connected.
Will wait and see now.
What I'm confused with is that you can't even choose what "maximum" ticket price you'd be prepared to pay. Say I only want to pay for Cat 7 seating to simply be there... plus that's pretty much all the CC space I've got... but I somehow end up with Cat 4 seating at a much higher rate, do I just simply miss out and the tickets passed on to the next person if my CC is declined on a much higher transaction that I'm anticipating?
Yep. Imagine two adults with three kids (no kids prices) and they all were on same registration and all got cat 1. That's up for some coin there.

We don't have a choice? Registration for GF tickets is always well before it. I too can almost guarantee what will happen next week now under usual Richmond circumstances but people can't really avoid all this stuff about tickets.

17,000 tiger tickets available I reckon. Could maybe be stretched to 20,000-25,000. 14,000-17,000 are already P1. Which would leave it really difficult for anyone else. Your best bet as a P2/P3 is to place in one barcode in each transaction so you could possibly get a single seat to the grand final if we make it.
Stig and Kiwi confirmed yesterday there are 10k P1 members plus Coterie members and a few others at max prob 12k leaves between 5-10k for P2/3

Anyone under Bronze membership is no chance of a ticket at all and we had 66,112 members in 2014 75,459 this year so straight away 9347 aren't eligible for tickets at all prob adding a few more for members who lapsed and jumped back on year to year call it 15k.

So say 60k members are eligible for tickets less the 12k P1 members and that doesn't even count non match day access memberships like kids babies and interstate who knows how many of them there are. Realistically you are looking at maybe 30-40k people in P2 or 3 and the uptake is normally 50% but prob closer to 70% considering how shit we have been.

Question, not sure anyone will have an answer to this. But I used my parents credit card (on my Ticketek account) when registering as I don't have one. If Richmond were to make it I know we have to go to a Ticketek outlet to pick it up. Could one of my folks do that for me with their credit card and ID? Or would they need ID from me as well as the Ticketek account is in my name?
You need to provide the credit card and the ticketek ID number when collecting easier if you just go with them or give them the ID number

If Richmond does actually manage to win next weekend, I look forward to the first rant on here from someone who missed a GF ticket about how the 'amnesty' the club ran a few years ago, to allow previous non-consecutive years of membership to be added to the current consecutive total, means there were more P2 members in the ballot and it cost them a ticket.

The whole Gold, Silver and Bronze thing gave me the heebie jeebies which is the main reason I joined 3121 in the end.

They generally will ring you. If you can't pay, yes you miss out.

I'm sure it's been asked by I don't want to scroll through 63 pages and can't seem to find the answer online. My dad is an AFL member and I'm a silver member, assuming we make it through I was going to fly back from Canada to go to the Grand Final.

Is he only able to buy himself a grand final ticket or will he be able to buy a guest pass? If he can only buy one, am I able to use it or are they really strict with checking?

OR

Will there still be tickets for me to purchase with my silver membership? I understand people don't actually know for certain this answer but I'm wondering if anyone has a rough idea. Has anyone heard if they are expecting to sell out at first release of AFL members or anything like that?
There are no guest passes for the GF in the AFL members. Only full members are entitled unless the game is not sold out. If RFC make it, then it will be sold out.

Lots of people use another's ticket even though they are not supposed to.

You're a Silver Richmond member? Did you enter the ballot?

Your Dad is what sort of AFL Member? Gold? Silver? Does he have Richmond club support? There wont be any guest passes.
I'm a silver AFL member, dad is gold. Both Richmod support. I saw tickets go on sale on the sunday and monday after the prelim for AFL gold and silver members respectively. There's no ballot for that is there? I'm super out of the loop over here living in canada, I hope I haven't f'd this up.

Ok, I'm a silver AFL member. Has there been any indication if tickets are expected to sell out before these become available?

And as someone who hasn't done it before, is it easy to get away with using someone else's pass if I need to use my dads?

Allegedly we don't even have enough AFL members to sell out our allocation

Boys I've got a bit of an issue. Thought it was a good idea to book a European trip after my own footy season presuming the tiges wouldn't be in the mix for the big dance. Well we are now and I need to find a place in Munich to watch. Anyone got any idea of how to go about this? Or know of anyone who will be there? Regardless of whether we make it or not I'll still be wanting to watch the game. Any info would be good cheers.

Or, they could rant against the AFL for only allocating 34,000 tickets to the two competing clubs

Having lived in Malaysia for the last 2 years, I have experience with grand finals abroad.

Your best bet is to suss out the AFL Europe team in Munich via facebook and then see where they are holding their function, as most international AFL clubs will host a massive fundraising day and get a pretty good turnout.

Facebook link for the "Munich Kangaroos" https://www.facebook.com/MunichKang...3PoIUjMpnD0ks68JFQe--bE3zcHwcoKyDY5PI&fref=nf

I noticed they have a function on the day.

Other option is the AFL website as it has a list of global AFL functions for Aussies abroad.

Ned Kelly bar. I watched it from there last year. Was packed full of Aussies at 6AM all cheering for the Bulldogs.

Enjoy Oktoberfest, it's an absolute riot...

Not a problem.

Your dates are correct. Your Dad will have a very good chance (I think certain but I'm not 100% sure). You're in the same boat with me with the Silver and I'm giving myself a somewhat reasonable chance of getting one, but I'm not sure really.

It's hard to know. The AFL are selling tickets already in the AFL Members reserve section, along with corporate areas, so I'm not sure exactly how many seats are up for grabs in that area alone.

I am assuming you mean silver afl membership?

Your dad with a gold afl membership will get a ticket. Silver afl is tricky. Lots of neutrals will want to go see us play in a gf so there might not be much/any left and a lot of richmond afl members are just silver members.

From memory the sydney and fremantle gf have offered seats to Silver members with no club support, but hawthorn fatigue and lower membership bases from those clubs impacted those sales.
