Not a problem.

Your dates are correct. Your Dad will have a very good chance (I think certain but I'm not 100% sure). You're in the same boat with me with the Silver and I'm giving myself a somewhat reasonable chance of getting one, but I'm not sure really.

It's hard to know. The AFL are selling tickets already in the AFL Members reserve section, along with corporate areas, so I'm not sure exactly how many seats are up for grabs in that area alone.
Yeah I am assuming dad will be 100% to get a ticket, he used to go to the grand final most years but is getting a touch old these days so don't imagine he'll be going this year. Think the last game he saw was the famous Andy Collins vs Sydney effort. But being from the supporting club I'm sure he'll be fine.

I guess I'll just try for both sales and use his if I can't get one myself. I'll be flying back from Canada for about 4 days so I'm not going to settle for watching it on a screen haha.

Thanks for the info.

I am assuming you mean silver afl membership?

Your dad with a gold afl membership will get a ticket. Silver afl is tricky. Lots of neutrals will want to go see us play in a gf so there might not be much/any left and a lot of richmond afl members are just silver members.

From memory the sydney and fremantle gf have offered seats to Silver members with no club support, but hawthorn fatigue and lower membership bases from those clubs impacted those sales.
Yeah I figured there'd be a ton in neutral interest if we are lucky enough to get through.

Cheers

Hey guys, just some advice for AFL Members for the potential GF, I noticed a few people asking what are the odds of getting a ticket.

All Gold AFL Members with Richmond club support will get a ticket if they purchase during their allocated time frame.
Gold AFL Members with no club or non competing club of support should get one if they get in quick during their allocated time frame, but I suspect they will go pretty quickly. Unlikely to be any left over for Silver AFL Members regardless of club of support.

Last year there were 'extremely limited' seats left for Silver Members with competing club of support. With the Tigers having something like 2,000 more Gold AFL members than the Bulldogs I expect there to be none left over at all for Silver Members. The problem when a team like the Bulldogs or Tigers make the GF is that a lot of the neutral Gold AFL Members want to go, where as if it is a team they are sick of such as Hawks/Swans/Cats they may not bother.

Hope this helps, good luck.

I have a P1 membership so registered yesterday. Now my concern is, as a Sydneysider, should I book flights and accom now before things go up a ****ton (particularly if the Swans get up) or should I wait until I'm sure?

I'm thinking I'll go down either way. I have a friend who's a GWS member (the GWS member) so I might make him go into the Ballot for them and I take that so either way I can go (albeit one for a club I'd be much less excited to see), unless West Coast ****s us all.

Hey mate, I'd book. You can chose a fare that costs slightly more and is changeable/refundable. So if we miss out you can cancel the ticket or hold it as credit, and save that for another trip or a game next year.

Can we all note how empty yarra park and the richmond pubs are right now. Honestly would expect less people tonight than at the Dees, Swans friday night match earlier in the year. Totally embarrassing how flaky Geelong supporters are when they're resigned to losing.

Yep. Imagine two adults with three kids (no kids prices) and they all were on same registration and all got cat 1. That's up for some coin there.
5 cat 1 tickets to GF - $2,000
Being at the game with your family as Dusty wins the NS, Cotch and Dimma hold up the cup - Priceless.
