The mind games have started. I see Essendon videod Hawthorn's training session. That reminds me of GF week in 95 when we were due to play Carlton. We managed to sneak some cameras into the MCG to tape the Blues' training session, but unfortunately they were training at Optus oval, and we were subsequently flogged by 10 goals a few days later. My nanna lost a bundle on that game.
Grant Thomas has been announced as St Kilda's coach, a position which George Bush Jr had earmarked for Osama Bin Laden's punishment. A new form of shocking retribution must now be found - perhaps forcing him to sit through the Grand Final half-time entertainment would suffice? Best of luck to Grant though; if his coaching ability is anywhere near as good as his fertility the Saints are in for an exciting future.
Poor old Brendan Fevola is back in the news for all the wrong reasons. Perhaps he should give footy away and join the Gallagher brothers at Oasis. "I am appalled that somebody at Carlton would make a drunken spectacle of themselves" said John Elliot as he caught the bus to his AA meeting. I feel a bit sorry for Brendan; i know better than anyone how suddenly the effects of a few West Coast Coolers can hit you. It happened to me recently in Phuket, and i never did find my trousers. Perhaps that's why Brendan was at the dry cleaners?
My finals tipping record so far is 3 out of 6, so i need a couple of winners this week to restore my credibility. I have decided to go out on a limb and tip Essendon and Brisbane.
