Couldn't have gone with something more realistic than Melbourne in the finals?
I figured Melbourne poses a harder connundrum than Footscray and St Kilda.

Geelong and Hawthorn cannot finish in positions that have them play against each other.
Essendon has been expelled from the finals (in case you hadn't heard)
Collingwood can't get to 5th unless they beat North and North can't make the finals if they lose to Collingwood.
Melbourne is in 17th position.

I'm unsure how any of what you posted is relevant.

I meant completely hypothetically in the future. I agree, this year we won't be at Etihad.

Lets be honest, both us and the pies would prefer to play port at the G for first final. I'm tipping collingwood do a number on us and lose to norf so they can finish 6th and play port. Further collateral damage of that is they bring norf into 8 for us o_O

I was only responding to the myriad of muppets around here that can't get it through their thick protruding foreheads that there is precisely zero, zilch, nil, nought, f*k all chance of Richmond v North @ Etihad next weekend.

I couldn't give a stuff about hypotheticals for future years.

If we lose Saturday night, Carlton beat Port and Collingwood beat North then there is a very real possibility that we're off to Etihad to play Port. That is not a game I would be looking forward to playing as it would play into Ports hands IMO.

So it's important that we win on Saturday as it will mean that as the 5th placed side we would earn the right to play whoever finishes 8th at our home ground. If Carlton beat Port then I'd be looking forward to playing them again as I have no doubt that we would win and win well.

If Carlton lose and North get through I'm still confident of us winning as the Roos are poo away from Etihad.

So as far as who do we want to play. Personally I don't give a fats rats clacker, just bring it on.

Calm down.

I think we'll be prepared to beat Carlton. Our attack on the footy wasn't there 2 weeks ago. They don't deserve to be there and we'll beat them well imo. We will be switched on. I do not want to listen to their knob supporters celebrate. North and even Adelaide are a decent chance to make it too

Anyway I hope we play the crows. They will need to beat the eagles by about 5 goals if port beat Carlton by 5 goals

Won't matter if Roos beat the Pies

have to disagree, our defence is frugal and at Etihad will suit us right down to the ground. Port play a very open game, like to spread it fast, we do too, but we also have the defence to be able to shut them down at Etihad, their defence aint that bad, but it aint frugal too.

The thing with playing them at Etihad is that their fitness comes into play. They have shown time and again that they are the masters of running over the top of sides should they be close enough. At Etihad it's a lot less taxing on them meaning they would be less tired come the last quarter. At the G we would have a better chance of opening them up and putting too big a gap in them for them to overrun us.

Agreed...we played one of our worse games of the season against Carlton yet lost by only 10pts.

Probably saturday during the day. In any case tell your cousin to hold off getting married until we win the granny.

Luckily he made sure the wedding came after the last saturday in September! I think it's the Sunday after though so I may be a bit seedy :D

Or still drunk depending on who's playing ;)
