I think there's a genuine chance all 3 of WB, GWS and St Kilda end up on 40 points, with St Kilda having a considerably better % than the others. They're my pick (using this ladder predictor) for our opponent in the first round of finals. If we dish out a few surprise beltings like the Brissy game last year we could leapfrog Richmond, who have been below par in my eyes recently.

A first round match-up against the Saints would be great. They're very young and lack the top-end talent
 
Melbourne dropping that game makes it almost impossible to miss finals if we win at least 1 more game. If we don’t win 1 then there is no point in being there anyway.

Richmond are in 4th simply off their easy draw. Absoulte Rort. Summed up last night, played freo at Metricon, freo were the travelling team and had 4 day break to Richmond 6.. you can’t make this up..

how do the premiers miss out in the hardest draw, going to Perth.. they should have been first picked for the perth hub.
 
Melbourne burns their game in hand to Sydney. We'll see how the GWS game falls to Carlton. Should Carlton win, either GWS or Melbourne cannot make it to 40 points by virtue of playing each other.

Carlton, meanwhile, would still be able to get to 40 points in that situation. Very fun to watch the scenerios play out, I want to get to a position where a single win clinches finals; at the moment that number is still 2 wins for a guarantee I believe.
 
Blues win tonight, we need to win 1 and should be ok... but, we need to avoid 8th at all costs...

I do have a question, out of all the top 8 teams. Am I right in saying only geel and Coll got shafted in Perth? Coincidence?

If we win one more game, and WCE beat St. Kilda and the Dogs, we cannot miss the 8.

If WCE knock off the Dogs, the only way we could possibly miss finals, would be if each of these results played out exactly as below.

Saints def Haw
Saints def WCE
Saints lose to Giants
= STK 10 wins 7 losses - 40 points

Melb def Freo
Melb def GWS
Melb def Ess
= Melb 10 wins 7 losses - 40 points

GWS def Ade
GWS lose to Melb
GWS def STK
= GWS 10 wins 7 losses

Go Pies! (and go WCE :sick: for the rest of H&A)
 
If we win 2 the lowest we could possibly go is 7th and even then that would include St Kilda and GWS winning out except for the game they play against each other.

I know, I know, its not how we do things at BF....we like to go off half cocked all the time and just spew BS.....I know

I still think we are good enough to win i all

Add Degoey, sidebottom, treloar, Howe and we are an easily 5 goal better side.

Brisbane wouldn’t have beaten us if we had just one those guys yesterday.

Another thing that will help us, clearly, if the Grundy lookalike stop playing and the real one returns.

Even without one of those guys. We should have won. Our disposals were shitty inside 50. And also around the ground.
I agree we are a chance in the finals, with key players back.

Yep. We squandered a chance at a possible top 4. Although I think this year it would be better to play continuously.

West Coast simply don’t play well over there

10 day vs 4 day break

No Yeo, No shuey, No Hurn

Genuine danger game for them imo. Wouldn’t surprise me if the going gets tough they’ll pack it in and play cry me after the game like they did for rounds 1-5.

Didn't realise both Hurn was out and they were coming off a 4 day break, that is tough for them.
