Touched on it the other day re GC's chances in their debut final in comparison to what other expansion sides have put up in their respective first September outings:

West Coast played a "home" Elimination Final in the wet at Waverley and would have beaten Melbourne had a pretty simple Murray Wrensted shot in the dying seconds not gone astray.

The Crows went in underdogs against an aging, but still capable Hawks side and triumphed in a very high standard game.

We all know the Brisbane Bears story: 8th vs 1st and the only side to get near Carlton in that finals campaign.

Port (7th) v North (2nd and eventual premiers) more competitive than the scoreboard suggests; fell prey to a ten minute Wayne Carey purple patch.

Freo shat the bed.

And GWS much too good for the minor premiers (who did end up making the grand final).

So, yeah, Suns a good chance if history's anything to go by (unfortunately).

Ranking of palatable premiers from here (assuming we are out):

1. GWS
2. Hawthorn
3. Freo
4. Gold Coast
5. Geelong farming collective
6. Adelaide
7. Pies

Freo would be higher than hawks (GC too) if them winning didn’t involve us going out in straight sets.

Any non-Victorian team would be great for football

Nah Hawthorn are sliding down to 5 and Crows up to 2nd.

With those as our options, i can mount a pretty solid argument for a meteor hitting the earth, knocking it off it’s axis and being sucked into the sun by 26 September, than watching any of those clubs hold up the cup.

(I’d accept Freo if it didn’t mean them beating us next week).

Does anyone know when tickets might be on sale for next weekend’s game? Thanks

That's what I had been hoping for all along, but now its down to the Crows (don't see it personally) and one of Lions (won't happen with our injuries) or Dockers / Suns and I don't see either of them getting past Collingwood.

The Giants were my hope and they blew it badly. I'd have loved to be a fly in the Giants room after that game hearing Kingsley dressing his players down.
We can get past the Pies. It would be an almighty effort and coaching challenge, but it can be done.

Category 1 == $$$ regardless of where they are, it's a no brainer. :( The other categories only exist so they can advertise it as "from $<slightly less amount>".

A low-capacity stadium pretty much guarantees more top prices when demands are high.

Except for the last 2 grand finals at the MCG i have not been to the MCG for other H & A games or finals.
Can i assume that there are more seats available at reasonable prices during finals with that 100k capacity

Having a new Brisbane Olympic stadium with increased capacity of 63k should also give more membership categories during the season and probably finals to.

I can't make the game, however have 4 x Priority 1 Barcodes, which is strange as I thought I had P2 for the GF ballot. Maybe all members are "Priority 1" for this game?

I've logged in, received same then plugged in the code that was sent to my phone. I'm in the waiting room now. Not stuck.
I "X" out of that screen and went through the code process again.
Worked that time now in waiting room.

All done.
Offered a few crap cat 1 tickets in back few rows as usual.
Finally settled on cat 2 tickets Section 330 row FF. Just to the right of the goal posts.

$158 for two tickets will do me just fine for our only home final.
