Mod. Notice Finals tickets thread - keep it in here please

Ethically grey area I reckon. While it increases you chances, it decreases the chances of people who paid a membership to get the opportunity to see their team in a grand final. Good luck to you though, I'm hoping our 2 little barcodes come up trumps. (assuming we win the prelim)
Im doing similar. Less ethically grey than 1 post people signing up to bigfooty pleading for barcodes, offering to pay for them. *Edit ^^^^ exactly like the post above.

I said earlier I was more than happy to move any extras if we happened to get them, but only to members who missed out on ballot.

Vic Platinum Member here who still has a WA barcode, so was very lucky to be able to log them both in this morning to Priority One/Guaranteed, very excited.

Offloaded a third barcode (from my Mum in Perth who I used to go to games with) to a friend's family so hopefully they get all of their tickets for their people.

So exciting!

Logging in just before 1pm (11 your time) with my 4 tickets to hopefully get something back.

Feel its a bit stiff that you are going to be given best avail (would be happy with a category D to be honest) but I guess these things don't come around that often.

Just to confirm, each barcode entered means a chance at 1 ticket, so 4 barcodes = 4 ticket chances?

Booked flights and accomodation last night. 1800 all up with is pretty good considering. However i am relying on the dockers to make the GF...

If you register 4 codes together, that's 1 chance at 4 tickets

If you register them separately, that's 4 chances at 1 ticket - they won't be together if you get more than 1.

geez. so now I've got to work out whats the most likely scenario. 2 tickets? 3 tickets? 4 tickets? this is a nightmare in some respects!

Indeed. I'm not all hot and bothered about it. Just pondering the ethics/fairness of it, probably out of self interest.:$
My son has a couple of extra barcodes and you can be sure I'll be the first one with my hand out if he ends up with a couple of spare tickets.

Are we sure about that? I would have thought each barcode has the same chance of being pulled out of the system, so if one of those four is pulled out, 4 tickets awarded and all barcodes are removed from the allocation. If there were only blocks of 3 or less left, they no tickets would be awarded to barcodes wanting blocks of four or more...

Well when you register 4 codes as 1 registration, the 4 effectively become 1 single entry?

That's how I was reading it.

This is from the T's & C's - "members should be aware that registrations with more than one ticket are ‘one in, all in’ or ‘one out, all out’; group registrations will not be split."

So I assume that means your group is one allocation.

That is 100% correct.

We have 4 memberships but we are registering twice with 2 barcodes both times. More likely to get seats in pairs or singles than say 4 consecutive seats.

Not 100% sure... I thought if you registered in one transaction you are either 'all in' or 'all out', meaning you get your block of tickets or none, however it doesn't seem right that say, 8 members want to sit together and only have one chance of getting pulled out of the ballot? You'd think that each barcode has an equal chance, and if it's linked to a block of tickets, if available, those tickets would be awarded.

EDIT: As per the post above, that is correct re: more likely to get 2 seats than 4, but pretty sure my post still stands.

i must say this is a massive pain in the dick. do i go all in for 4 tickets so all of us can go, or only go for 2 x 2 and someone misses out. its a debacle that there aren't more tickets released to competing clubs

It's a croc o poo and the AFL needs to change it, but they won't because they get to scalp numerous tickets through $2000 GF packages.

fair chunk of those tickets going to AFL and MCC members

I'll already be on the plane before I know.

It is looking like I will be on the plane heading towards Melbourne during the WCE prelim. The wait until phones can be switched on after landing to find out the result will be pretty nervous. I am trying to see if the airline has any live sport/new channels or internet access but this is wishful thinking.
