Swans not beating cats last week (like the should have) means we most likely need to win two more games than cats (who play a lot of future games at home) which I can’t see happening. Not sure that 6 or 7th positions are up for grabs.
hopefully umps start to suck us off now

afl will want a big club in the finals

We topped our midfield after our defeat from brisbane midfield last year by paying 4 first rounders to get belted by brisbane midfield again. We were only missing prestia.
Ok, so we should've gone into this season with Dow and RCD as our midfielders?

FMD, stop buying into the media narrative around draft picks. If we didn't get Taranto and Hopper we would probably be bottom 3.

Tell me which midfielders in last year's Draft are having an instant impact this season which were around our picks?

And I love how it's now 4 first rounders - increases every week [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787].

Oh and to stay on topic, no, we won't play finals as we don't have a forward line.

Correct, correct and more correct... although we may have a better forward line by finals if we can scrape in...

To get into the eight we need to see who will drop out and who are like us on the outer trying to get in.
I think the two spots available are Essendon and Saints. Our competitors are Geelong, Carlton and GWS. I don’t think any of the others have a chance. So three teams fighting for two spots. Geelong has home game advantage in a few games and will sneak in. So Carlton GWS and us are fighting for the last spot. I think our draw is way easier than both and we should still make it.

Let’s say Carlton lose to Fremantle today, as they have Port next. Would make it really difficult then.

Probably nah. Gotta beat WC, Hawks, North then two of Melb, Dogs, StK & Port to get us to 12 and a half wins (50pts).

Not impossible but unlikely.

That Essendon loss is gonna cost us big time.

We are going to be only 6 points off 5th spot after this round, last week it was 10 points.

You're thinking too much into it, don't look any further than the hawks game and see how the ladder looks, then make predictions.

And the unexpected crops up every year. Like sun's needing to clear cap space and giving away a first.

It's going to be a very hard task, I think its likely beyond us now. We would need to go a minimum of 5 of 7, possibly even 6 of 7.

Our run home is "softish" with games against nth, eagles & Hawks- but I'm not certain this team can definitely not balls 1 of these up. We tend to "play up" & "play down" to our opponents - some of our worst performances in the last few years were to ass eaters Nth, Gold Coast, Saints.

We then have 2 games where we are clearly underdogs - Demons & end on Port, away & 2 "8 pointers" against Dogs & Saints.

To go 6 of 7 would mean the club has gone 10/13 since Dimma resigned - in a league that is painfully close & equal, it's a hard ask. If we do it, I think it would likely put us top spot since Dimma resigned also

Effectively a lot of crazy outcomes would need to play out for us to make it

Do it again without the Tigers glasses on
We are not winning another 6 games out of 8

We play Port - Doggies - StKilda - Melbourne that are all in the 8 currently
Only Port from that list would be difficult. The others from line are not that good. Out of Bulldogs, Stkilda and Melbourne should win 2 of those. Will be interesting though.

I went to the stk/melb game last night, if people are shitting bricks over these two teams then they'll be the same ones shitting bricks next sunday.

Tell me again why we aren't winning 6 out of 8.

What are these crazy outcomes you speak off. One game out after this round and we need crazy outcomes to make it. My god you have over thunk it.
