I reckon if we finish 4th we beat Geelong away and platform into a GF (Like 2013!!)

I reckon if we finish 5th and host a home final we lose against an average Vic-side with more finals experience (Like 2003!!)

Not disagreeing but Geelong are a finals hardened experienced and far from average team and we will be playing them away. Love your positive attitude but its a tough ask.

If we come 5th there is a 80% chance say we would be playing the Doggies.

As Carlton will have lost which will mean we will have missed out on the 4.

We’d be playing the Cats in Melbourne though. Either at the g or marvel. I wouldn’t be scared if them in either deck but especially not Marvel.

It's difficult to know what to make of GWS this week, and what they have to play for exactly. Mark McVeigh is unlikely to be coach next year I would think, some of the players might be gone due to Salary cap issues, and they're sitting towards the bottom of the ladder, however they have showed some better signs over the last 2 weeks.

We need this week to tune up, and try and practice better ball movement into the 50. It would be better if Lobb was playing with Fyfe and Logue so we have closish to the forward line we will play with in the finals.

Also I'm sure it will be good the guys to be there for Matt DeBoer's farewell - given what he gave for Freo, though I guess there aren't many players left from his time, Nat Fyfe, David Mundy, Sonny Walters, Matt Taberner, Alex Pearce, Darcy Tucker - anyone else ?

With Nathan Wilson and Rory Lobb with him at the Giants along with Tendai Mzungu who is in the coaching staff, and of course was at Freo as well.

2015 PF remember sitting on the train on the way home with my head down staring at the floor realising that it was over.

It's great to finally have hope again.
Yeah tell me about it.

Of the 20 odd years I have followed freo, only 2 games I recall I broke down in tears for the wrong reasons.

1. that infamous 2015 prelim final

2. that infamous 2009 game vs the crows where we kicked 1.7.13. And yes I was sadly there.

Biggest question I’m struggling with is who comes out of the side other than tucker for Tabs and Fyfe for finals.

Fyfe takes tuckers spot this weekend.
Tabs for ? When fit for finals..

I absolutely love him, but I can’t help think It’s Drizzys spot. I’d prefer it to be Shultz but I don’t see it

The last month of footy games and with a better GWS to come has sharpened our edges I think. We’re better in the wet now and we’re used to teams bringing pressure straight away. In terms of finals preparation it’s been ideal. What’s not ideal is our forward line is still suspect.
I would love that Sydney back game again that result has cost us a top 2 spot.

Potentially even top 4.

We were up by 25 points before a Free kick just on HT which gifted buddy a goal.

Yeah because of injury, nothing else.

Would love the 1st saints game back..
even the GC game away. Won all the key stats and had a mountain of I50s - almost double them - just couldn’t score

Not going to matter if we still cannot score. Won't go anywhere, and if we meet Richmond first week that's unfortunately the End.
Need to win this week, and find some more players willing to kick f'ing goals

Honestly, the one place we don't want to play a final is at the SCG - given we haven't played there in a long time. I would give us a chance at the MCG, Gabba and of course at Optus, I wouldn't hold much hope at the SCG though, given it's a very different ground to anywhere else.

Yeah, I've been asking myself the same question over the past week. Then I remembered that this is Freo we're talking about, and we can safely say that someone crucial will get injured (if not Tabs himself) and solve the problem for us.

Can't see us progressing too far without any KPF's
HOW

are we in this position again. You'd think we'd have learnt from the Pav era but no.

bloody groundhog day.

Jeremy Cameron would be in doubt for 1st final with a low grade hamstring.

I reckon week 1 is the perfect time to have a crack at the cats.

Doesn't mean we will win but i think with a week off to freshen up. We will give it a red hot crack if we sneak into 4th. Nothing to lose and a free throw at the stumps so to speak.

Cameron i don't think will be risked for the 1st final with a hamstring they will roll the dice and hopefully have him ready for the preliminary final.

Cats record week 1 in the finals is abysmal under Chris Scott.

And the bye week may take some of the momentum out of the way cats are humming atm they are almost playing at there peak and the week off could disrupt that.
