If Byron didn't do so many stupid things with the ball he would be elite.
He also falls over way too much for a player with his low centre of gravity.
Having said that it is possible now that he surrounded by a lot more highly skilled and intelligent players that his grunt and determination will yield better results. Perhaps we are getting past the tipping point of smart V stupid players.

On Schammer - I was having a convo with my bro the other week (bloody eagles supporter) who was bagging Pav because he once saw the great man wait for Schammer to barrel in and feed him out the ball instead of, and I quote, 'busting the pack open like Quinten Lynch does when he plays midfield'.
I tried to explain to him that barrelling in like a human cannonball was what Schammer does best, and that you'd much rather him feeding the ball out to Pav than vice versa, but he didn't seem to quite grasp that concept.

Schammer has guts however he makes some terrible clangers at critical stages. If he could elimnate them I would have him starting 22 every game.
It will come down to injuries. You take someone like Hayden out and put someone like Thornton in then that is already a huge difference.
Do that for 5-7 players as we did most of last year and the side and game plan completely changes.
If we can keep Hayden, Headland, Palmer, Crowley, Ballantyne, Johnson, McPharlin all on the pitch then we will go alright.
