just did the ladder predictor, some ridiculous things have to happen if we want to make it. We have to play well and there have to be a few upsets in other games. Honestly can't see us making it.

But I'd love it if we did! Prove me wrong, demons :D

I wouldn't say ridiculous.
We have to beat richmond port at aami and north at the G
Sydney have to lose against the hawks, frenabtle at subi and the dogs at sydney or brisbane at the gabba.
Lose any 3 of those 4 and you dont make the finals.

I think carlton will or wont make the finals depending on their result against essendon. Who are in form.

thats what I mean though. It would be a lot more realistic if A) we didnt need results to go our way or B) all we needed was one or two results, but for us to play really well AND for all results to fall our way, it would be fairytale like.

Bring it on!

The stars are aligning at the moment. Hawthorn & Sydney already lost this round, NM looking like they're going to go down to the dogs (as expected) and Richmond in front of Adelaide :O

e: Richmond win! Big big game next week then - should draw a huge crowd. Teams falling over to give us a spot in the finals this week. Obviously a long way to go but things are going our way.

Hawthorn, Carlton, Sydney, North and Adelaide all lost this week. Absolutely perfect set out of results. :D

Still a long way to go though, I won't be holding my breath.

I completely forgot about this thread.
What I was getting at in the OP was if you guys could make finals, would it have a good or bad effect on your players?
I think it would be great for your guys to make it, nothing throughout the season matches up to finals games... nothing at all.
It would be a great learning curve for the future (which looks to be very bright for the dees)

Not looking forward to playing you guys in years to come.

P.S - I'm impressed at the OP's devotion to Peter Street.
haha, cheers. he was a great player, i have a signed #11 top that he "wore" in a heritage round

Out of the 4 rounds left this is the biggest out of them all and we need results to go our way...

if the swans and blues win this wk then its goodnight even if we win...

I hoping for them both to lose for the obvious reason but also i will be so much for pumped for our game Sunday if the cards fall our way!

No they have to win 2 I think at least. And the ones coming up aren't easy for either of them

Yeah well Sydney should beat the Lions in r22 and the blues should beat the tigers next wk, that's y i think this is the most important wk for results not involving us..

i think we are a better chance against the hawks than what we are against the power at aami.....

i rkn we are far better chance of beating port at aami. You will often find coaches facing up to their old mob know them inside out and im sure bailey will have a strong plan of how to beat them, regardless of our hoodoo.

Faith boys. Belief and Faith is all it takes. Destiny will control the rest.
Faith is a bastard concept.

We've no need for faith, we have the evidence in the past two weeks that we're good enough to win. We can believe with a good dose of optimism that we'll turn out correct.

I now firmly believe that there is no reason why we cannot make the finals. Four games to go, we win three and we are as good as in. And if we are a finals team then we need to be aiming to win 75% of matches. Now it’s probably still unlikely, as we are not really a "finals team" but there is some distinct hope.

I even allowed my self to do a ladder predictor last night on the AFL website and as others have suggested we should by all rights finish 8th.

What I though was more interesting and although it’s really pointless to get carried away but if you do a finals predictor we would theoretically play: Freo @ Subi, Doggies @ MCG, and Collingwood @ MCG.

I would have thought if you had to pick teams that we would realistically play by week they would be then. Having narrowly lost to all of them is one thing but, Freo have all manner of injuries and are not as good as they were at the start of the year, Doggies have looked good the last few weeks but it’s a game that would be played on our home ground and I think our foot speed would really trouble them and against the Collywobbles we are always a chance.
