I'd like to back up captain dyertribe of the Titanic and Asguardian here a bit, because PAfolwr from my POV at least I thought I would be seeing better footy than this from the Crows even if their first rounds are tough.

The gameplan stinks and we fans are not happy about it.
Is it just me that finds it amusing that you have gone from chief Crows apologist to Chief Crows cynic in the space of a few months

We have some problems but nothing that can't be solved in my view.

Well not quite everyone, but really wasn't it dicussed in the "first 11 games" thread, and other threads, that the Crows would not do that well early on.
So what has changed?
After the next three games is the time to get the steak knives out if required, not now. :)
I thought we would be 1 win, 2 losses.
But the real concern has been in the manner of the losses.
You can lose honourably, and with dignity,or you can really lose.:(

That's what I thought too. I never thought for a moment that we would lose to the Roos, but never ever did I think we would lose any game for the year in the manner we lost to them.

That of course was followed by the insipid first quarter against Brisbane which was very poor and of an even softer nature.

However, I would have to say that if there is such a thing as an honourable loss, then we did improve last sunday to achieve that against Freo.

At least the trend seems to be upward at the moment.

You have to say Fremantle were very ordinary, and should have won by more.
However our effort was much better, and I didn't think we were all that indirect (except for Carey's leads).
Our tackling ferocity, that was a hallmark of our winning games last year, is still not evident.
Game even at three qtr time, we needed someone to step up and lead from the front (ala Hird), alas it did not happen.

Maybe the problems can be solved, I'd agree wholeheartedly with that.

Do I think they will be solved ? I am sorry to say, no I don't. Not any time soon.

The first step to make for a recovering alcoholic is for them to admit there is a problem. Ayres is still drunk, and ordering yet another round at the bar.

PS: I guess the other side to this story is that I feel very let down indeed by the approach that the Crows coaching staff have decided to take, and their obstinacy over sticking with an obviously flawed gameplan. Which lunatic came up with this crud anyway ? Who is supposed to be doing tactics ? Do we have a mole in the coaches box ?
