Was listening to sen last night and couldn't believe the crap coming out of Fineys mouth about big boy. In short, basically said that he was a very average ruckman at the saints, and that it wasn't hard to look good coming into hawthorn and replacing max! I found it to be pretty insulting to Max who played a specific role last year but played it extremely well. He was on with another flog - the lawyer guy who was raving about the saints getting savage blah blah blah. I always rated big boy and was rapt we go him in the trade. Will never be star but you won't find a more honest ruckman who is an lite runner, can take plenty of contested marks and more than holds his own in the middle. F

Finey not one of your best performances, I reckon last night your performance was very very average.....

The Seaford beach bums don't have much to crow about Noel.
Too many seagulls and scallops.

Finey is the most knowledgeable footy scribe in the whole AFL media, so I would respect what he says.

Whoops, sorry, I meant the opposite: Finey is the least knowledgeable footy scribe in the whole AFL media, so I would not give a f*** about what he says.

Time to put on the 1966 Grand Final and flog off over Cowboy Neale again Finey.

Sounds like an all too familiar line from opposition supporters when we have traded in recent years
Sums it up really.

Dew is fat. Yeah well you can suck a fat one, he won us a premiership in 5 mins.
Lake is 31 and past his best. Correct Brian 'Norm' Lake is 31, but he also confused the Freo players to continually kick it to him in the most important game of the season.
Burgoynes knees are shot. Perhaps they are not as good as they once were, but ask Geelong how they are going.

Cop that #mediaflogs , are these the same clowns that lauded all week about how Fremantle had displayed the most intense pressure in the universe and were going to smash us in the gf. Finey sums up saints supporters perfectly, sit around making excuses. Il get on with watching my team win premierships.

Didn't hear it, gave up listening to Finey a long time ago. Can't for the life of me understand how Stephen J Peake gets a radio gig (the lawyer guy), absolute buffoon.

Some Saints supporters I know rate McEvoy highly both on and off the field and are not sure whether it was a good deal or not.

He's a laugh at times, albeit an unintentional one. Last night he was melting about someone's claim that St.Kilda players always get traded to premiership teams, and he demanded that stats were provided and the numbers of traded St.Kilda players to premiership teams be compared to those of other teams who have traded players to premiership teams. I thought it was funny to hear him lose the plot like that.

He did the very same after the Brisbane demolition. He kept steering the conversation back to McEvoy and how average he is.

Don't mind Finey usually. Don't always agree with him but he's ok to listen to. I don't think McEvoy will get much better with us but that wouldn't be the end of the world. A very good player on his day and a definite upgrade on Bailey. His ruckwork is only ok but around the ground is where he shines. Plus we need another bloke who can pluck a few from the air!!

The McEvoy trade has a lot of similarities with Russell Greene coming to the Hawks from St Kilda in the 80s. Great timing for both of them and McEvoy is likely to leave the game just as decorated a player as Greene was.
It's funny you mention Russell Greene. I see Langers running with the blond hair, and the 29 on his back. The word robotic always springs to mind. Ahhh, memories.

McEvoy, I thought he was rated highly enough to be considered a future leader down at the Saints? Pure sour grapes.

finey's club has won 1 flag in 118 years…we've won 11 & all in the last 53 years..let him dribble…Mccevoy is expected to evolve and become even better with hard work, humbleness and dedication at hawthorn, much like Hale and Gibson have evolved further at our club

The closest the Saints come to being high achievers is putting the suck in success....
