That is the point finey, cherry picking role players.

By the end of the season the other 16 clubs will be cursing the saints for giving us Big Boy
Lot of people i speak too, very much including myself, think the acquisiton of McEvoy is pure genius. Finally, a pure, run all day ruckman.

Genius I say. Last bit of the puzzle. With the way your blokes are playing, you didn't really need him.... grrr :p

I was listening to this show while driving and my girlfriend, who actively dislikes AFL, said (with barely contained disgust) 'You know you're listening to two old guys arguing don't you?'. I had to laugh, that comment was spot on. I had to admit to her that this was pretty much the basis of all AFL media, plus or minus a few old guys.

Once he's finished doing that he can put on "The Winning Streak 2004".

Don't forget that their only Premiership in 1966 was against the mighty choking Woods.
By one point.
By a lucky fluffed, ugly kick that just got in for point.

Great team, the Saints, one premiership in 117 years!

Afl radio is pretty much that. Hooksey and healey used to be classic in the pre SEN days.

But for real pointless conversation going on for ages, cricket is the topic. On and on and on and on...

So essentially, a Saints supporter with his own radio show recons an opposition player is no good. Do you think anyone at the Hawthorn Footy Club cares?

We'll see what he thinks when Big Boy has a premiership medal around his neck while the Saints battle to not win the spoon.

Sat near him when we knocked out the saints in
the 2008 finals. All he did was chant out to bateman to get a haircut. I didn't know who Finey was but the guy next to me did and gave him sh!t all night . Finey wanted to punch on but his misses put him in his place. Funny night now that i really know who he was.

Have only listened to him a few times.
He is rude and obnoxious. If you don't agree with him, then forget it.
He will talk you down and it doesn't matter what you say or if you try put your point of view across.
The fact that he has his own show is a joke and is an insult to genuine sports fans to have to listen to his drivel.
Oh and I hope he reads these and then he can have another whinge on his radio show.

(Can we fix the title of this thread and spell Ben's surname properly? No K in McEvoy)

So McEvoy is no good, but because Max was even worse It's easy for McEvoy to look good?

So that McEvoy is an upgrade?

And he replaces a guy who has now retired?

And we lost a guy outside our best 22?

Please tell me which part of this is meant to be bad for us????

Well at least that shows the type of flog he really is, and it makes sense too, have heard him talk about his "rough days" on the radio before basically bragging about all the tough types he used to/probably still does hang on off.

Like it or not he has an audience.
If he didn't he wouldn't still be there.
On the rare occasions I've tuned in I get the feeling he's trying to represent the views of the "common" man.

I'll play the devil's advocate and suggest some of his rants actually have some substance to them.
Strange as it may seem I've actually found myself agreeing with him , especially about the AFL draw and the tribunal inconsistencies.

He's no worse than many in the media in that he's paid to have strong opinions
It's when those opinions attack our club that we all get revved up.

The rest of the time he's a harmless late night radio host appealing to a unique market.
(Consisting of insomniacs, alcoholics and sports tragics.)

No real harm done unless you value his, and his listener,s opinions.

Let's just hope his 'market' are listening to him at home and not while driving their cars
