Fiora laugh

I must admit i am one that thinks Fiora will play better at St Kilda next year for a few reasons.

  • Any player who goes from a wooden spoon side to a top 4 side will appear to play better
  • He will be played in a single position, and not 5 which he did at Richmond
  • The move would of increased his confidence in his own game
  • If St Kilda have made Goddard get up to 98kg, most likely Fiora will finally put on some weight!

If they play him on a wing, which is appearently what Thomas is going to do, he will become a less-skillful version of Del Santo.

That being a soft outside player, who looks better than he is in a good team.

Watched replay of the Saints v Tigers in Round 3 on Fox. As Fiora was playing that game, took special interest in his abilities.

Thought he played a reasonable game indeed. I think the Tiger supporters are on drugs with their claims his kicking is bad. He made one bad turnover in the game (which Aaron marked and kicked a goal), but he also drifted forward on once occassion to kick a goal.

The rest of the time his disposal hit their targets. His error count was a lot less in that game than many of his Tiger team mates.

I suspect that with a shot of confidence and playing in a strong team like ours, should be a very good player. I gotta feeling Fiora will do more for us than Knoble will for the Tigers.

Anyone see the game and take note of Fiora? What do you think?

I think he's pretty spot on really. Except for the part about the kicking.

Fiora can be a good sharp penetrating kick, sometimes.

But his desicion making time that is his downfall IMO. He just hold onto it for too long, or will take one or two too many steps.

Other times he can be a superb kick. I think he will be better at the Saints than he was with us, and honestly, I wish him the best of luck.. Just not against us

One of the best kicks i saw this year was from Fiora, a very sharp, narrow pass from the boundary straight in the 50 straight down i think Richo's throat.

His problem is his consistency.

For every 1 absolutely ********ing brilliant kick, he turns it over about 5 times and misses his targets about 15 times.

I thought he was worth keeping. I honestly think he hits most of his targets and he is quick and has talent. He underperformed just like every other player the last 2 years.

Yeah I agree with you there he hits most of the targets in the other side lol. 100% record he has for that. But Yeah as much as i hate saying it I have always liked aaron and Shame on richmond for not letting him play in 1 position. All the best for him with Stkilda however he failed with us and the chances are good he will fail again.

i'll never forget when we played carlton a few years ago at the g and with one minute to go the ball came down to the blues forward line and he was
right behind a blueboy and all he had to do was punch the ball down there were plenty of tigers around, we could have cleared it or bottled it in and he
panicked and decided to throttle this player and that was the end of the game.i never forgave him for that still till this day and i always thought he played like a girl good riddens to fiona.

Look at it from St. Kilda's POV. They have effectively traded Heath Black for Fiora - that is, a winger for a winger. This will work well for Fiora. Previously, his biggest problem was that he was never played in his rightful position. I think it was obvious to us that he was never going to make either a back or forward pocket player.

He - like many others of our players - suffered because of our coaching staff's lack of appropriate attention to skills development. I feel that if he stayed, he would have done well under Wallace who would have been smart enough to play him in his right position and would have put a premium on developing appropriate kicking skills.

Fiora is soft, hardly ever wins a contested ball, doesn't get nearly enough of the ball end of story, lacks vision and footy smarts, stuff's every 3rd disposal he gets and plays as if he is still in the juniours where he thinks he can outrun everyone using his pace. How many times have we seen him get holding the ball trying to do heroic solo runs.

If he gets a game at St.Kilda the only thing it will prove is that the Saints aren't what they are cracked up to be and they won't have a big say in the finals if in fact they do even get there.

i remember when he first started with us and people were diggin on the skill he had in running the ball out of defence with his "taking on the oppostion" type runs now its "he holds the ball too long""takes one step too many" my my how times change.

I agree that he'll probobly end up doing better at the saints and i wish him all the best but dont ever expect him to get his hands dirty and look for his own pill.... cause he can't.

Exactly what CJH said, he will slot in to replace Black quite well, a running outside midfielder
He will improve simply from being surrounded by better players, he knows he has to work harder to make it into the starting side than he did with us
I hope he does well and wouldn't be suprised if he ended up with a premiership medallion round his neck by the end of the year

you can say that he was not played in his positon but the bloke has not got the nous to play the game...or the skill....i honestly think he has played one good game for the tigers and that was against melbourne a few years back , since then nothing, he will stuggle to play 10 games for the saints and then be sent back to the magooss
