I was very impressed with fiora last night. I've never been much of a wrap for him but thought he was quite reasonable and, most importantly, gave me confidence that there was improvement left in him. I'm not saying that we were correct in taking him ahead of Pavlich but maybe he is at tigerland for the long haul.

He kicked well, got the ball, evaded tackles and thought football.

Hope my confidence is well placed.

Your thoughts?

He certainly seems to have improved but I reckon he's still got a bit more improvement in him. Hopefully he'll now become a consistent contributor.

It's nice to see that Pettifer is no longer in our best 22.:)

Pettifer, Nichols, Fletcher, D.Kellaway will not get a game unless we have injuries/suspensions. Same should go for fleming with chaffey back this week.

Depth is a worry still.

Agree with you IITB, depth is a concern, but if injuries hold up and we swap Chaffey for Flemming, and occasionally throw in Weller, Roah, etc, we will be OK
.
I was impressed with Fiora's game on Friday night, and we probably had close to our best team on the ground. Hope the injuries hold out, and we attack the ball and tackle like this all year.

I reckon he started to show us what he can do late last year - round about round 18 - 19.

lets hope he continues the improvement.

We have waited a while but always had faith in him.

one of the greatest challenges this FRI v Melbourne is for the likes of Fiora , Rodan and Krak to back up one good performance with another...if these lads can lend support like that week in week out...we will go along way to getting the points..

What do you base that on?

Number of posessions ? Flem was light on with stats but there were about 5 prime movers (Brown, Cambo, Johnno, Cogs, Tivvs) who appreciated Flemings involvement. He tags , he hits, he goes in hard.
He marks the pill and kicks well. Gives off handballs from packs.

And the opposition have to wonder how far away Fleming is whenever they bend down to get a loose ball.

I'm staggered Fleming gets bad press from his own supporters.

Fiora will never be a matchwinner for the Tigers and will never ever be in the league of Pavlich, Riewoldt etc.

However, we can only hope he starts to develop in the way Tiva did (ie. gradually and over a number of years). If Fiora can end up being a solid contributor to the Tigers each week (in much the same way Chaffey is), I will be happy.
