you loved them because they were the greats.
To defeat the west indies was the win the world.

Its why to this day I love Allan Border. While everyone else folded he stood tall and proud.
The stand against the tide that was marshall, garner, holding and later ambrose.

I baby sat Joel Garner for ASC one summer. He was staying at the Park Hyatt and everyday I would rock up in my Hyundai Excel (with the seat right back to accomodate the 6ft 8in of the great man).

This was in the days before mobiles were common. Everyday I would be greeted by concierge with a different address to bick up the big fella from. He was a sexual tyrannasaurus. Glory days.
