I mean not that I'm an expert or anything but gangbangers/criminals are dodgy as vuck and fairly obvious what type of characters would be carrying weapons by just a quick glance at them. The security hired can't be that oblivious, wouldn't surprise me if they were mates with some of them and it's how these stooges managed to avoid their guns been detected.

The AI scanners are & they did in this situation alert further investigation was required by the security guys with the wands. They didn't follow through.
