Haha that's great that you can see the numbers from all countries. Even Somalia has 10, didn't even realise they had internet there.

I noticed "Svalbard & Jan Mayen" have 0, who or what are they? I consider myself fairly knowledgeable when it comes to geography but I've never heard of that before.
Somalian Internet is based around satellite internet, still frustratingly slow though.

Svalbard rocks! Cheapest place in Scandanavia to buy booze, although it is midway between the artic circle and the North Pole. Made the news about 10 years back after an aeroflot plane carrying russian minors crashed at the airport killing a hundred or so. Although Norwegian in principle, it is really shared with Russia. Has a uni there and is tech-savvy so would have expected a fair few downloads.

Yeah I googled it actually, mentioned Norway a lot so I would have just assumed it would have been tacked on with them but they have their own tally which is 1 less than Chad surprisingly as you say.

Russian minors you say ;) that makes me a fan, along with their cheap cheap booze.

There is an add-on in Mozilla (not released in 3 but wont be long) called Tabbrowser Preferences that gives a lot of extra features to the options menu.

The add-ons in Firefox is the best part of it :p particularly netusage item :thumbsu:

That's awesome! I had no idea you could get that. Pity there isn't one out for Firefox 3 yet:mad:

Svalbard's nationality isn't that straight-forward. It was a disputed territory between Russia and Norway, but this was resolved by granting Norway sovereignty but allowing Russia unfettered access plus other restrictions such as tax not being allowed to apply, hence the cheap booze. The Russians has a mining town which really is completely Russian. I went sea-kayaking there once, amazing scenery and the Sun never setting was somewhat weird.

I just downloaded Opera 9.5.

JB is right, FF3 is playing catch up with it. Opera 9.5 has it's quick find which does the same thing as the "smart / awesome" bar however if you just click the down arrow on the address bar it only gives you a list of typed addresses. Thats the way it should work.

Speed dial is something I am surprised FF3 didn't copy across aswell. Such a brilliant feature.

Very sleek look to it too and doesn't take up too much room at the top of the page like it used to.

Bookmarks can be added to your personal toolbar, and the Bookmark menu is at the top

Yep, click and hold the tab and drag it to the left of your address bar.
Thanks. I just worked out what Speed Dial was anyway, which quashes the need for it. :o

It's a bit like trying to drive a new Ferrari. It's quick and feature packed, but then some things don't work the way you would expect them to and takes some geting used to (eg. can't open a link in a new tab with the control key, it has to be the shift key).

Been using it for about a month now after I tried the beta, LOVE IT.

a few simple updates, new look same feel a bit quicker

Have you been there?

I'm interested in travelling and i knew it was up near Norway somewhere, but i couldn't imagine living there after looking at some pics. (population just over 2k btw.) It does look amazing though, but i couldn't imagine the temperatures in the winter.

Did you buy your booze from more than likely the only pub in town? :D

Oh yeah, will give FF3 a run tomorrow, since i made the switch from IE to FF i've never looked back.

I customize my bookmarks toolbar (right click the bar under the title [one with File, edit, view etc.], and Customize. And I add the little icon for new tab

found an addon to get rid of the title bar which is pretty cool I reckon.

Has anyone that uses the addon 'Organize Search Engines' had trouble with Firefox 3? It said in the upgrade that it's compatible, but all the search engine folders don't show up anymore.

That DejaClick one is pretty cool - had never tried that before until getting a couple of new ones today. I use Photoshops actions heaps at work, but never crossed my mind about being about to do that with Firefox. Tried iMacros first, but it stuffed up and I had to uninstall, but DejaClick was pretty much the same. With my router sometimes I have to login to it and reset the connection if it stops working, so with DejaClick I now have a bookmark that automatically opens a new tab, loads the router page, presses the disconnect button (my router then auto-connects), and closes the tab again. Stoked about that one. Got it auto selecting Aussie dollars, then loading the homepage when I go to dvdpacific too. :thumbsu:

just installed this... runs much smoother than version 2 did for me...

even that joke of a website afl.com.au doesn't freeze my browser anymore... :D

I love PicLens, my favourite way to browse videos on Youtube :D

http://www.piclens.com/

It presents pictures/videos from sites such as Google images, Facebook, Myspace, Flikr, in an interactive 3D wall presentation, which allows you to view all of them, click to enlarge, or in Youtube's case, to play them.

Opera 9.5 >>>>> Firefox 3

Firefox 3 seemed to be largely catching up to Opera 9.2x, but now Opera has gone to 9.5, Firefox 3 has alreday fallen behind.

I just downloaded Opera 9.5.

I have been using Opera 9.5 for weeks now, and I do like it, but it has some issues;

  1. No add ons means no Macro program (that I can find anyway)
  2. Doesn't drop down the opening line in a BigFooty thread when hovering over a link
  3. Doesn't work with afl.com.au (arguably a good thing)
  4. Doesn't work with ANZ (a bad thing)
  5. Stability. Definitely has a far greater propensity to shut down over Firefox, and even IE which I have to use for work.

Looks great and works very well, but these issues mean that I can't use it for 100% of the time. For Opera to make inroads into increased browser share (assuming my distant Norwegian rellies want to), then they need to be near perfect IMO.
