I will be going ( like always ) and I'll be staying (like always ).
This is just this months fad... I went on Queens Bday and thought it was a great atmosphere.
Ppl need to chill out. Crowds have never been bigger.
We have the 4th most spectated sport in the world. I get pretty rowdy at the footy - back of Ponsford and until the day they kick me out I'll continue how I have for years supporting my club.

While they remove all the ferals. Can they please remove the plebs that arrive before end of quarter time with beers and make everyone stand up, then continue to get up a further 4 times for more drinks during the match whilst talking the entire match , cheers
I prefer to sit in the middle of the aisle to minimise such people. There's always one though who goes past even if there's much less seating between them and the aisle the other direction. Just like there's always one who will climb over the seats to use your row instead of theirs before the match or during quarter/half time breaks. For the latter group if I'm alert to it I pretend to ignore them rather than move.

I support Collingwood with passion and spirit every week, I know where to draw the line. I can have a few quiet drinks and still control myself. I have seen people swear at other supporters I have seen people abuse umpires and players and be removed. I have not once seen a supporter removed for nothing. A walkout protest about what ?? Lately I've seen a lot a posts on FB of security walking up and down the aisles and people saying what is this? Obviously these people don't attend games cause this happens every week and has for as long as I can remember. If security want to remove me for supporting my team they will be carrying me out but I know this won't happen due to the fact I don't swear or abuse people at the footy. Anyway enjoy the game support your team within simple guidelines and there won't be any issues. Just for information I sit in the AFL reserve every Collingwood game so yes I do go every week.

I feel like this is the sort of thread that arises when collingwood has the bye and people are bored for the weekend and overthink things.

The security "pacing the aisles" has been accentuated by channel 7 vision, adding to the perceived furore. If you don't want to get kicked out, don't swear and carry on like a dill. Pretty simple imo.

Plus I live in Mildura and I wish I had the opportunity to go weekly. If finances and logistics allowed for it, you're damned right I'd be there, and I wouldn't be in danger of being kicked out, because I don't feel the need to drop a casual c bomb in public. Stick this boycott in the bin.

I'm still waiting for Gil to say something about this issue which indicates leadership...you know, independent thinking and a clear AFL position and direction.

Crickets.

In the meantime, I'm not sure that there is a bigger issue at play here or whether there are just isolated examples of individual fans behaving like tossers who may - or may not - have been dealt with heavy handedly by security.

Its possible that we are experiencing yet another half-arsed poorly thought out AFL response to an ill-defined issue which will blow over once Robbo drums up another scandal to take hold of our limited attention spans.

Film Gil with a bunch of hookers and threaten to play it at the MCG if he doesn’t make things right.

Look to who have done this already. Do a bit of research.
German soccer fans are really proactive in making statements. Fans can do it and it has been done.
When they don’t like price hikes or reducing the number of away supporters let in... they act.
- Everyone turns up, but at an agreed time all stand and turn their backs
- Everyone turns up, but for an agreed time everyone remains silent
-Everyone turns up, but at an agreed time everyone boos etc
Everyone could get out of their seats and block the aisles at an agreed time

Like in Germany, all these actions are too much for broadcasters to ignore. They will generate huge publicity.
Walking out is asking too much - it won’t happen.
Check out what has been done though.

Why would the AFL care? You've already paid for the ticket and the money is in their coffers. They couldn't give a rats what you after you've passed that turnstile.

Bad publicity is bad for business.

They do care once you pass the turnstile!!
They are telling you how to behave - that’s clearly telling you that they care about what happens once you’ve paid.

If we act en masse - The AFL will really care. It will be the one thing they hate - negative publicity. They poo themselves over negative publicity.
Negative publicity can cost them money. Corporates hate being associated with negativity.
If fans protested week after week - the corporates will tell Gil to do something!
The AFL is just a popular show that companies see a benefit from being associated with.
Stink up the show and everything changes.

So if you leave "en masse" you're just doing the AFL's job by removing probablematic supporters AND your paying them to do it yourselves by paying for your ticket. Good job.
Just don't go to the game if you want to protest that will actually make a difference because you're not giving them the money.

I would suggest that rather than represent the people who are swearing etc, you should represent the people who are just normal polite people who dont like being treated this way...
So true. I don't want to be herded in with the likes of people who genuinely abuse umpires as opposed to those who are simply loud and passionate supporters (and can boo, then get over a dodgy umpiring call).

This could be good. I have a lot of supporters who sit around my Marvel seats who drive me nuts. Could be a good day at the footy
