Rubbish and Rubbish.

People seem to forget that in 2001 Marsh was our 2nd choice ruckman and has played some very good football in that year, getting into the Crows best players a number of times. You don't get to do that if you are not up to AFL standard.

The problem with us is that we expected Marsh to be the next best thing. The best thing since sliced bread. He has been labeled as the future star of the comp. Because of this we have a tendancy to point the finger at Marsh and say he is not good and all that sort of crap.

Fact is Marsh is very capable back up ruckman. The sort of player that will never be a star just a decent back up. The problem with us supporters is that he hasn't lived up to our expectations and therefore we might as well bag him.

This time last year we were just as "sympathetic" to Perrie and look at him now. If we dlisted Perrie last year as many of us were calling for we would not be in the 2nd spot at this point in time. Hell I doubt we would be in the 8.

And Marsh is not keeping anyones spot on the list as I said earlier,we could have gone with 40 players this year but opted to go with 39. No its not because of the salary cap, as we have promoted a rookie on our senior list.

;) ;)

I can't remember a single game where he played any decent footy since his first game

he is not good enough.

That's the hard honest truth.

No bends.

Melbourne are copping it from all sides from the media over here at the moment. They are now talking clean outs and trading to improve/change their player list.
What do think about chasing Jamar as a back up ruckman to Doc and Rhett?
I don't think Melbourne want to lose Jamar but if we can offer a reasonable trade I reckon they'd come to the party.

I am all for trading to get Jamar but our 2nd rounds draft pick is the most I would offer for him. I doubt Melbourne would go for that. They would much rather trade White, that would free up some salary cap room for them and get them a hell of a lot in return.

Kane, this must be the most passionate I've seen you over a topic. Would you boycott a match if Marsh was get a gig next year?

It probably takes the edge off supporting the team if the side has someone you have absolutely no time on the list - and as our ONLY backup ruckman, he is always a chance to play.

I reckon Jamar and Barry Brooks would both be worth chasing. Getting them is another story...but it would be woth trying.

If he wasn't that injury prone Stephen Doyle would be a perfect fit for Adelaide. Unfortunately he seems to have those legs that always have troubles with knees. He has got stilts.:(

Which is a pitty as he is a genuine star in the making

No chance of me boycotting a game - I went when David Gallagher played & he fustrated the $h!t out of me too! Westies are happy with him - they can keep him!

I think you're right on all counts Stiffy. He's definitely worth a try but White probably would be the one they would want to unload due to salary cap pressures and his trade value.

Interestingly enough, White is only 26 years of age, so he does have a lot of footy ahead of him.

However with thge two ruckmen we do have and our own salary cap pressures, I can't see White being the correct option in any respect, whereas a Jamar might well be, if available at a reasonable price, which I doubt.

How the heck can the Dees be so close to the salary cap with their list? White would be a great pickup if Biglands wanted to leave (which I doubt). Otherwise we need a younger ruckman who will be ready to take over from Clarke in a few years.

Its called mismanagment Kane. With players like Yze, Johnstone and Neitz on some $500K no wonder they are close to red.
Yeah I realise it is mismanagement, but even if these 3 guys are getting $500K each, they must have some lesser names still on big bucks if they are close to the cap as their list doesn't go very deep.

I reckon White would be also close to $500K so thats 4 players that eat up $2Million of the salary cap. Theay are still paying out part of Woewodin's contract and they would have the likes of Bruce, Brown, Vardy and a couple of others who would be on some $300-$350K a year.

Too many players that are not earning their money and those that are earning it are being overpaid.

I know stats dont tell all but has anyone checked Biglands marks kicks handballs for the last month he isn't all that more dominating than Clarke.
