And there are a heap of indigenous languages that bring a different regional accent to English
Don't think so. There might be more armed police now (as in they'd have hired more people to the special divisions that are armed), but the general PCs wouldn't be armed
That's the classical understanding of Aussie accents, but its changing imo.
The "cultivated" accent is becoming far less common and different cities/states are differentiating more - Melbourne definitely has a different accent to Queensland
