Nah, I don't think that's right.
Melbourne, Sydney, Queensland, Adelaide, WA, Darwin, ..... and loads of dialects.
And there are a heap of indigenous languages that bring a different regional accent to English

I wonder if the british police carry guns now, or are they still big fat sissies.
Don't think so. There might be more armed police now (as in they'd have hired more people to the special divisions that are armed), but the general PCs wouldn't be armed

The 3 Types of Australian Accents.
That's the classical understanding of Aussie accents, but its changing imo.

The "cultivated" accent is becoming far less common and different cities/states are differentiating more - Melbourne definitely has a different accent to Queensland
