No, but came close a few times. Worst was about ten or twelve years ago. The tornado siren went off in our town so I had to walk my elderly, ill mother down about 20 steps to our basement. I had set up a radio down there and brought my cat, Lily, in her carrier and my zebra finches in their cages. I watched the storm pass on the weather radar on my phone.

I also was caught in a bad storm while at an evening baseball game in the city. My nephew called me to say the radar showed funnel clouds heading right to Wrigley Field. An announcement came over the PA system for people to leave their seats and go down to the lower level for protection. I remember standing on the stairs next to the exit, ready to leave in an instant. It really was scary. Imagine 30000 people all trying to get out at the same time if a tornado struck. As soon as the danger passed, I just left. The game resumed in an hour or so, but I was back on the train headed home.
