It was like $40 for a 6 min talk with my GP
I'm lucky my GP still bulk bills for her existing patients. The clinic is mixed billing.

The last time I went they changed the process and I had to give my credit card. They "charge" the card and after the appointment the doctor can decide to bulk bill the full amount, so they cancel the charge. Otherwise the payment goes through and you get a part rebate from Medicare.

The price that specialists charge is ridiculous. But I guess that's why they're specialists.
Luckily two of my specialists I see for free at St.Vincent's Hospital- my neurologist and my neuropsychiatrist. My other four specialists - cardiologist, phrenologist, gastroenteritist and respiratory doctor are private. At least my GP and nurse at my clinic are now bulk billed. I'm not sure about my skin cancer doctor. My optometrist stopped bulk billing two years ago. I have to have a glaucoma test every year besides the eye check up every six months.
