Thank christ I came to my senses.

This is how I progressed in terms of AFL

0-6/7 years old: North supporter because they were Kangaroos
8-10: hated AFL
11: iirc went through a phase of barracking for every team, even Essnedon (that one lasted the shortest like a week)
12: leaning towards Geelong
13: Full on Geelong, put me down I'm down.
I was always Swans. The only other team would have been the Bulldogs because of mum. But she wasn't as passionate about footy as dad. So I was probably just watching Swans games with him.

My brother was Swans too, but changed to Geelong when he was really young. (We think because his best friend was a Geelong supporter). We only found out when we were in the car listening to a Geelong v Swans game. I think Geelong were having a shot at the end and they missed. My brother made a groan and dad said no it's ok Geelong missed and we are still in front. That's when he told dad he didn't barrack for the Swans anymore. Dad said he was going to be written out of the Will 🤣.

I am:
Tonight: attempting to exercise for the first time in 3 weeks, maybe a beer at the pub, shops, nachos for dinner.
Sat: sleep in, drinks in the city, footy
Sun: attempting to go to the gym for the first time in 3-4 weeks, go to the library and shopping.

Next weekend it is all about 28YL

I honestly arrived at Geelong on my own accord.

Yeah my mum barracked for them, but she seriously could not give one shit who I went for (or my brothers).

The crowd number probably wasn’t one of them given his side’s uncompetitive effort, but a classically Ross press conference exchange with our reporter Ronny Lerner raised questions worth answering on what an “acceptable” crowd is between two Victorian sides on a Thursday night

So here are some facts.

The 20,508 at Marvel Stadium was the lowest crowd between the two sides in Victoria since 1999 and the lowest at the roofed stadium, outside of Covid.

To answer one of Lyon’s questions, the two teams have averaged 32,495.2 spectators at 31 matches at Docklands – not counting one 2020 match.

St Kilda had one player under the age of 21 in its side, and the Dogs had three.

Even on the quality of draft picks, the ledger was close, with seven Saints playing who were selected in the top 20 of a draft, just behind the Bulldogs, who had eight.

But nobody heading to Marvel Stadium really expected the Saints to win.

The Saints and Dogs met in a forgotten elimination final back at the Gabba in 2020, a game Brett Ratten’s side won.

Since then, the Dogs have made a grand final, played in two other finals campaigns, and should go again this year, while the Saints have made September once, an elimination final defeat in 2023.
