That sucks. Hope you feel better.

My left eyelid is swollen and it's so uncomfortable. I've been putting a hot compress on it.
I assumed I was just feeling unwell due to the hayfever, but could tell when I woke up Sat it's more a cold than hayfever. This end of the year can gagfd, I have zero sick days left.

Stupid AO organiser bastards. The comp starts a week later than last year. Will be back at work in the second week.

Are they ****ing ******s or what.
I remember one year when school started during the AO second week. I was so pissed that I missed out on the Quarter Finals and Semi Finals.

We haven't bought AO tickets yet. They are just too expensive for only 2 matches. Probably better off watching at home and I can choose which court I want to watch.

"Overnight hike"?!?!? :eekv1:

Screw that. I didn't even do the bushwalk which was an hour and a half :tearsofjoy:
I always felt sorry for the female staff members who had to do the overnight hike with a group of boys. I think most held their pee until we got back. I had never slept in a tent until my first Year 8 camp as a teacher in 1979. I was 27 at the time. A lot more was expected teaching in Catholic schools compared to the government school I started at. Luckily I never had Saturday sport coaching. The worst I had was Year 8 basketball on Friday afternoons when I taught at a smarmy Catholic boys college in Perth. Didn't get back from away games until 6pm some days. I hated that school.

Yep my grade 5 camp was the first time I went horse riding (not counting pony rides), on a trail. My horse was called Patches, he was very sweet.

5 day camps those as well. Both Grade 5 and 6.

High school camps were only two nights
Yeah 5 day camps too. Can't remember high school...it was so long ago 😅.

I think I'll be back at work the Tuesday (Monday is Australia Day), so we'd be around quarter finals which day sesh shouldn't start till 2pm and I clock off 3.30 so not that bad I guess. And the big matches will be at night

I've done platform tents and regular tents on Trek America. The latter will be the last time I'll ever be in a tent.

I say camping for me is a three star hotel now.

Our camps were from Sunday to Friday. I once had to do two consecutive Yr 7 camps. I had one day off in between them. A teacher had hurt himself the day before his camp and the Principal called me to see if I could go down to take his place. I was Year 7 Coordinator at the time and had no family, so it was easier to replace him with me. I did get Athletics Day at Olympic Park off to make up for it. I hated Aths Day supervising.

Btw is anyone wants cheap Gold Class tix for maybe Xmas gifts, etc- I found $30 ones for Village. Absolutely no conditions except you need to be a VMC member (which is free to join), no other restrictions at all and the tix expire one year.

Offer ends midnight tonight. So I was lucky I found it today. Got some for my brother's for Xmas

Parents used to drive their Year 7 sons down to Point Leo on the Sunday. It was always interesting seeing some of the mothers "horrified" at the camp facilities. The camp wasn't that bad, but not to the standard of some eastern suburbs mums.

i think we went to sovereign hill overnight once. otherwise i dont remember going on camps.

who would want to see people at school all night as well as all day. i couldnt think of anything worse

i dont remember the show. i think i purged it from my memory.

if i had to room with a sleeptalker or a snorer, i dont think those kids would have survived night one

thats why you have to room with a kid whos better looking than you are so they get molested instead of you if theres a teacher in the room

plan ahead
