I adapted. I usually spell the Australian way now. Can you explain why it's the Labor Party and not the Labour Party here? I can. I looked it up.
I had to look it up as well...
influenced by American English and a desire to break from British English conventions.

I had my Aussie accent trained out of me a little for presentations at work. Been here long enough that I have a weird mashup now. People notice an accent whether I'm in Canada or Australia.

I had two brothers do a few years in the UK, one came back sounding like a Pom the other not a trace of an accent. Non accent bro reckoned he made a concerted effort to not get an accent at all haha

The above link didn't work for me.
Here's one from the Age.
He was targeting the NFL offices because he thought he had CTE.

A gunman who shot dead four people at a Manhattan office building before killing himself was trying to target the headquarters of the National Football League but took the wrong elevator, Mayor Eric Adams said.

Investigators believe Shane Tamura, of Las Vegas, was trying to get to the NFL offices after shooting several people in the building’s lobby but accidentally entered the wrong set of elevator banks, Adams said in interviews.

Four people, including off-duty New York City Police Officer Didarul Islam, were killed. Police said Tamura had a history of mental illness, and a rambling note found on his body suggested that he had a grievance against the NFL over a claim that he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which can only be diagnosed after someone has died. He played high school football in California nearly two decades ago, but he never played in the NFL.

Recently Shell posted about the 1980 Moscow Olympic games and about how countries boycotted due to Russia's invasion of Afghanistan. Some Australians didn't boycott and competed under the Olympic Flag and they received hate maik and death threats. They weren't recognised until today.

On Wednesday, after 45 years of being shunned and humiliated, Australia’s Moscow 1980 contingent have finally been welcomed home by prime minister Anthony Albanese and opposition leader Sussan Ley, who officially recognised their participation and subsequent treatment in a parliamentary address.
...

The world was deep in the Cold War when the Soviet Union, due to host the Olympics in some seven months, invaded Afghanistan. US president Jimmy Carter announced America would boycott the Games, sending shockwaves around the world and prompting other nations to follow suit. In all, more than 45 countries withdrew in protest.

Then Australian prime minister Malcolm Fraser called on the Australian Olympic Federation to join the boycott, despite continuing to trade with Soviet government. Although the AOF (now the Australian Olympic Committee) voted 6-5 to reject such a move, the Fraser government pressed on with a campaign that pressured athletes to make the decision themselves, offering individuals $6000 payments to stay home.

“How many lives is a medal worth?” Fraser asked at the time. “How many people have to be killed by Soviet armies before we will have total unity in this country on whether or not to compete in Moscow?”

Some did stay home, finding the pressure all too much, while the entire hockey and equestrian teams withdrew. The 121 athletes remaining from the original team of 273 were effectively smuggled out of the country.

Electricity and gas plans increasing tomorrow, so rang AGL to get on the best plan. It was an overseas call centre and the guy didn't understand what we wanted 🤦‍♀️. It got escalated to someone higher up and she was based in Australia. She sorted the new gas and electricity plans in no time.

Overseas call centres have turned me into a massive racist
