I'm concerned about the condition of the ground if it's going to be wet for the WCE game and then ours - not sure who that would advantage

All of a sudden nervous about this first final. Now is the real test to see how far we've come. To be honest I have lost a lot of faith that this year will be our year and starting to believe that the worst outcome will eventuate with the Slime winning their 4th flag before we even win our first. It's going to be a nervewracking week!

I was thinking the same thing actually. My guess is it wont be too bad, the centre and goal squares might be a bit choppy, but the field overall should hold up fairly well. It's a very well draining oval and they use some high-tech turf these days that can take a bit of traffic and hold up.

Unhappy, as it increases likelihood for ankles to twist. I wonder if the AFL would have rubber stamped a request for Friday? Wouldn't have been very sporting of us, though.

But the dogs did beat them in the wet and it could counter their forward effectiveness.

With their hard in and under mid out it might push more advantage to us.

Ballantyne will be an amazing inclusion. He had a limited preseason and now has got serious Km's into the legs. I see it as a blessing in disguise. He's a guy that's usually beat up come the end of the season.

Fyfe I'm concerned over and wouldn't be surprised to see him miss the first final in the anticipation we still have the cattle to win without him. Though I think he'll play as a stay at home forward. I'm expecting to see him as our 2nd tall forward and Mayne 3rd, which in the wet isn't a bad thing.

Ballantyne Pavlich Walters
Mayne Fyfe Ibbotson
Hill Mundy D.Pearce
Mzungu Johnson Sheridan
Dawson McPharlin Spurr
Sandilands Barlow Neale
Int: Suban DeBoer Hannath Sub: Sutcliffe

Hannath is a big big guy and won't be pushed around by Tippett or Pyke. In the wet the big body will be helpful. Very lucky to make the cut.

Sutcliffe unlucky to be sub. But I think they'll have a plan to drag him deep in defense and expose the shoulder. Which will be thrown in arrays when he starts as sub.

That team can run to the moon and back without breaking a sweat and might just be enough to break Sydney apart.

Do Sydney do well in the wet?
No. We are completely and utterly shite in the wet:cry: To the point that Swans fans are now meteorological experts with about 3 different weather apps on our devices in the vain hope one will say No Rain.

I guess it will nulify their talls a bit. And you're right, we have been awful in the wet this year.

No we haven't.I was at the Adelaide game and the conditions were atrocious incl rain, fog, freezing cold and lots of rain.
The games we have lost have been in fine conditions incl the Tassie game if I remember correctly.

Don't worry, man, we've been just as shit this year. More slipping and sliding than a kindy field trip to the ice skating rink.

We haven't been awful in the wet. We haven't seen the need to kill ourselves in some of the games in those conditions either. I think we'd be fine.

I do not think Hannath will play, especially not if it's wet.

fumble, fumble, fumble, slip, slip, slip. yeah we're terrific in the wet. The fact that we have managed to scramble to unimpressive wins, doesn't mean we play well in the wet. Good wet weather teams (like we were last year) can keep their feet and one touch. Most of our players haven't done either this year.
