6-6-6 warning, get rid of it and just pay the free kick or relax 6-6-6 or whatever
I'm in favour to relaxing it. The scenario it was designed to stop, every player being infront of the ball in the dying minutes of a close game when up a few pts e.g. should be apart of the game.

I wonder if any coaches have actually thought or strategised a situation where a go-ahead behind is worth more in the last minute than a goal, not having to deal with the centre bounce, 6-6-6, the other team having to go coast-to-coast while having all your players infront of the ball to defend. I know that's a fairly rare scenario but I know Shai Bolton and the Dockers were thinking about it on the weekend against the Pies, based on his mums social media post.

While I do try to fill the kids up prior to a game, it's inevitable by 1/2 time that they will be hungry.

What's even worse is that you can't get hot jam-filled donuts at the gabba on the way out of the ground

Yeah those were good best food is at Enegie stadium for mine good variety

I would love to be able to explain the basic rules of the game to a visitor and then be able to watch a match with them without having to declare many multiple decisions a mystery (ie I haven't the foggiest why decision x was made or decision y was not made) ...

So I would love there to be, if possible, zero grey areas in the officiation of the game.

Im scared this blokes first agenda item will be to introduce music after goals like he did at the Gabba. Once I start hearing "barbie girl" or "let it go" after a goal at the G is when I lose interest.

My prediction- he won’t do much of anything.

There’ll be a rule change, maybe a media facing change and a lot of ‘we’re looking at this, this might change’ type stuff.

Fluff essentially, fills back pages, amounts to nothing.

Yes I do.

I’m sick ofthe uneven playing field you guys get. Everybody knows it.
lol. Welcome to play us on our home ground anytime you feel like leaving the g - I guess 14 games there isn’t quite enough for you hey?

First job for Swann is to sort out the fixture.

  • Sack round 0
  • either go back to full draw start of the year or if they insist on floating fixture then make the good games in prime time slots.
This round of football has been organised by a stoned trash panda.

Either get better cameras

or

Get rid of the score review system completely

Keep the bounce at the start of quarters. Sack any umpire that can't bounce it properly, its a fairly easy skill to master.
How about they master umpiring the flipping game instead of bouncing the ball?

Should make sure that if a team gives up a free for 6-6-6 that both teams have to stay in 6-6-6 until the free kick is taken.

umpiring consistency, from
R1 to finals
Thursday night to Sunday afternoon
opponent to opponent
Q1 to Q4
D50 to F50

In the long off season, work out what will lead to a whistle blown and a penalty and what won't (same with the tribunal), find some good video examples of each for the various rules, and teach the umps (and tribunal) to stick with that week in, week out (with midweek ump reminder sessions) til end of season review. The longer the umps follow the consistent program, the better they will get. But if an ump is not getting it wright like when they keep going searching to call some highly technical decision that noone else in the stadium understands or seems fair and reasonable, they get dropped. And stop pretending the umps already do this and are doing a great job. They're not. It actually gets worse each year. If a call is 50:50, then leave the whistle alone like usually happens in finals (or at least used to).
