I guess we're talking about our first casual/part time job and not 9-5.

My first job was when I was 13/14 working from home with an Online Community. Was great pay, great working conditions (from the comforts of my own home) but as many companies did - went bust after the dot com crash.

Probably as a night fill at Big W. I've had an interview, went well, and yesterday they rang asking for my reference's. One of them being my coach, I told him and he said "OK, I'll be sure to lie and tell them lots of nice things about you if they ask." Haha.

First part time job, 13 working for a riding school, riding the horses from their weekday paddocks, to the riding school early saturday morning, then sunday afternoon riding them back to the paddocks.

Pay moneywise zilch, but could ride the horses anytime I wanted for free, loved it. :D

I was a maccas girl. And it was the best thing that could have happened for me as maccas experience makes you very employable (well, if you make the most out of it, it does anyway)

When I was 15, I was boundary umpire for the U/11's for the same EDFL junior team the AFL's very own 'the Velvet Sledgehammer' originated from (Avondale Heights)

lol. Needless to say, I think I learnt from a young age that delivering papers wasn't going to be enough to retire on!!

Besides, those Saturday Age's were a killer.

At 14, I was employed by Arrow Supermarket at Marion to go out and fetch trolleys from the car park. Got approx $4 an hour, and was generally looked down upon by all other supermarket staff. I lasted about 7 months before I got jack of it.

Other jobs have included, roughly in order:
- burger flipper for HJs
- guinea pig for medical and psychology research (no kidding)
- high school mathematics tutor
- computer science tutor
- computer programmer
- research engineer

about 15 years old i worked with me old man for a couple of weeks. he was managing a marble store and i moved boxes of marble around (bloody hard considering i weight about 60 kgs at the time)and helped with his stuff on the computer for two weeks.

i worked as a hawker...for a week!
the worst job one can take part in. Walking the streets all day, people stare at you; some feel sorry for you, most hate your guts. we sold stuff like candles, wiggles packs, and cheaps arse calculators! when i went to apply, they never actually said what exactly the job required...my first day, i jumped in a car with a guy who was working there, and we took off to the western suburbs. I couldn't believe what i had gotten myself into. The guy i was with loved it... but he had so many guys abuse him verbally. I lasted the week and buggered off.
NEVER, EVER WORK AS A HAWKER!
