Why is everyone suggesting a Laidlaw delisting? He has more upside, in my opinion, than a Brennan, Beckmans or MOD.

You do know Smith's two matches have come against the '07 and '08 premiers? Can't blame the kid for not slotting in right away.
Smith is amazingly consistent and a great on-field leader. Definite keeper. To me, it was more that he just looked like a little lost kid, that he went in to the games intimidated by who he was playing, and that's a cross against him.
Compare him to the likes of Bird, Jack and Veszpremi, all similarly inexperienced but who have played seniors without seemingly being intimidated by the reputations of rivals.
On top of that, he did nothing to suggest he was good enough.
Why would we delist Faulks? We have a lack of KPP as it is.
He was playing in the 'crap comp' last year too.he did, considering he played in such a crap comp.
I know very few (if any) will agree but I'd delist Schmidt.
Very good at ACT level, scored a couple of nice goals at senior level, but totally failed to impose himself as at midfielder at AFL level.
Bird in one season has done more than Schmidt in his career.
Only 30% of Schmidt's possessions are contested and whilst his disposal is OK (80% efficiency), he averages only 6 kicks a game.
By comparison Kennelly has the same % of contested possessions and a better kicking efficiency (85%) and averages 9 kicks a game.
So that's running half back with a higher contested possession % than a midfielder. It also indicates that Schmidt's much vaunted kicking is far from elite and also that he simply doesn't get enough of the ball.
Schmidt is slow, coming back from a knee op and if we are serious about being a quicker side I fail to see how he is going to help.
Schmidt will be 23 at the start of next season, he has been on the list since 2003 and has had plenty of opportunities to show his capabilities, but has failed to take the chances offered.
Bird, Veszpremi, Moore are all potential centre square players and IMO all are better than Schmidt. Schmidt's only hope in my view is as a small forward.
One guy I'd like us to retain, assuming his hamstrings are up to it, is Laidlaw. Quick, a lovely long kick and hard at it. Unfortunately I fear the acquisition of Rhyce Shaw and the presence of DOK may spell the end for Laidlaw, as the role they would take would be similar.
Delisted:
Ablett
Brennan
Davis
Faulks
Promote:
Smith
Murphy
By a mileAbsolutely, we have missed his run massively.
He is by far the most under-rated bloke on our list.
