So whats the rest of our order..If salem is gone..we would go lennon? if lennon is gone we would go Jones? is that right?

To be fair we were touched up by Carlton in a few spots when they got going in the EF. Defensively we do need to improve full stop. I think the player we pick will have defensive attributes as at least part of the foundation of their game.

We got done by the blues because couldn't win the ball between the arcs full stop. Couldn't win a tap, contested possession, hard ball get, 50/50 contest etc. All the rest was the symptom. That's why this selection will be about a player being a competitive beast first and foremost.

Jones CAN kick as well as Flossy and Conca IMO. Crouch on the other hand is on par with Hislop and that's being generous.

Eh? There are a number of contested players better than Crouch. Dunstan will probably be there at pick 12, he's a much better player than Crouch.

I am curious where this Jones talk has come from. First it was Salem, then it became Lennon, now Jones, when? How? Why? He's a good talent but I'd be frustrated if we chose Jones over someone like Dunstan. He's a good prospect but he's more solid 15-30 area a la Dumont.

I've noticed this type of thinking happens every year by all clubs.

In conclusion, it makes up a much smaller role than we think. So many great players drop because of a perceived athletic weakness.

Jack Riewoldt the ultimate example - too short compared to 198cm Gumby, too slow compared to Gumby, less athletic than Gumby, and not as suited to the modern game as Gumby...... Ones pick 2, the other Pick 13 not entirely but partly due to a tendency to think of these things as important.

Recruiters are smarter every year, but hopefully if we do get Lennon there is a chance he falls into this category in combination with the fact his position isn't clearly defined, like Scharenberg.

Toumpas has played one year and will be a jet...hardly think Melbourne are overlooking kids because they remind them of other South Australians they had taken in previous years.

Yes, that makes sense. If Aish is there at 6 he will likely be there at 10.

Crouch maybe less well rounded than others but he is a step up on everyone else as an inside mid.

Kicking is actually ok

Probally not our first choice but he is in the mix at 12 and it would not surprise me at all if we take him.

Jones is no hope as he is way to weedy at this stage imo
