Mine was back in December, in response to another Sydney-based Essendon supporter (who unlike me doesn't get to travel to Melbourne for any games - I go 3-4 times a year) only seeing them once a year:

Twice actually. There's a trial game at North Sydney Oval in February.
And then there's the first game at Stade de Oz in late May. And what fun it will be to spoil the Swans' party that day. :)

Mine was pretty embarrassing, hey I was young okay? ;)

Timmy Watson has of course resighned from the coach of the saints. Now the big question is........who will replace him?

The saints first of all have to write a list of talented people that can coach. That is where they slipped up when they appointed Tim(no offence).

Once they have weighed down their options, they must think as hard as they can (it won't take long) to pick the best person for the job.

Interview the poor man and if he agrees............ good luck to him.

My, my I've learned a bit of respect too :D. Sorry Saints fans :).

And look at that terrible grammar, punctuation and spelling  . And what is with 'weighed down their options'? lol I think i meant up. hehe.

"Lili. It's got nothing to do with my friend Bruce McAvaney, it's just channel 7 sux."

My first post was defending Bruce McAvaney. I kinda like that one even though it was dull.

Well I'd always thought I'd snuck in through the crowd tipping competition, but apparently this was my first post.

I like the idea of the Ansett cup for the reasons that other people have mentioned. It's a great opportunity to test out new players, as well as to build up match practise/fitness before the real thing starts.

Unfortunately while the Ansett cup remains, there will never be an even competition where everyone plays everyone else twice, not unless we got rid of a few teams, which I'm sure would be much worse than uneven draw. So the question is, an even draw or match practice...?

I don't know maybe they could make the calander year 8 weeks longer or something.

I'm glad to have made such a stupid suggestion to help you with your first post, may there be many more stupid comments to come :D

Hard to tell since the first few months weren't registered.... earliest I've found was from Jan 6th 2000.... all about the Worst Behaved Supporters :p

Collingwood supporters by a mile!

It's disgraceful that players the calibre of the Coleman Medallist have VB cans thrown at them! (Only half full too!) They act like animals, then complain about having Victoria Park closed.....

And what about all those Sydney 'celebrities' who suddenly appear at home finals and other high-exposure games? Although, I guess they're not really fans......

Eagles fans aren't that bad...... Well not all of them, anyway.

Kate.

First registered one was responding to the Dutchman...

OK, for one more time, Eagles_rule is not me. I've registered now, so hopefully you won't keep crediting me (or discrediting?) for someone elses posts!

But since you asked...
I think the reason ex-dockers in particular improve so much, is simply the change in professionalism. Freo is the most laid-back club by a mile! For that matter so is the city. Being a Docker is just a lot of fun, popularity and the perks that result.... Once they've been delisted once, they realise just how lucky they are to still be in the game, so a change of club acts as a kick up the arse.

On the second club thing- surely you have a soft spot for at least one other club Dutchy! [I for one hate the Hawks, always have, so I'm obviously not who you think. He's not here] Freo to many Eagles supporters, are like a younger, weaker brother. We hate them up front, but have to admit to a soft spot deep inside. When it comes to sibling rivalry, we hate their guts, but usually stick up for them in across town fights. Get my point? And I suspect there's a fair bit of interstate rivalry involved.....

Bloody hell I must really be bored this time... :o Oh well.. a few laughs anyway... ;)

Here's my first ever post here on BigFooty.

Originally waffled by me on 15th of July 2001...
Is it possible that Hawthorn and consistancy could possibly one day go together in a sentance without 'in" being in front of the consistant?

We are top 4 material, and knowing us, we will probably beat Collingwood, hopefully after they dispatch the 'we only play good in Brissie and get rolled in important finals in Victoria' Brisbabne Lions.

Essendon will win the flag, unless Carlton get lucky on the big day.

Eade HAS to go to Freo...cos no one else will, and it will work out for Eade, Freo, and Sydney. But who will coach Sydney?

Richmond are gone...

And finally, McLeod will win the Brownlow, possibly tied with Voss. Them two are easily the best this year, with Mr. Mcleod a real class act.

Hitman signing out...

I strutted into BigFooty sprouting my useless predictions, and was straight away put in my place by Santos L Helper and Mobbers.

Some shoddy spelling and grammar, and some shoddy predictions too!

This is my first post on bigfooty. I have been visiting the site for a few weeks and have found the content very interesting, but have only just now decided to sign up.

I usually buy it, well I scam a few bucks off Dad to get it anyway. Occasionally I get to the game at about midday, and if there's no curtain raiser, it can get quite boring waiting for the teams to come out.

ive been a member of the hawks cheer squad..actually its the hawthorn supporters club now, they changed it last year, but anyway back to the topic, Amongst others, the reason that people dont join is becuase there are certain people there that try to take control of everyone and no-one wants to put up with it.:D :D :o

Intriguing stuff :p

Okies here's mine, from October 18 2000, Brisbane Board, topic: 'Brisbane and Fitzroy Merged'

I don't know if there IS anyway to convince people, I think they really have to come to realise it for themselves, you know??? Roylion, great post by the way......I mean in my case it was preaching to the converted too, but it's very well put.

There it is, the post before was by Mr Ripper, the post after by Sainter so yeah. :)

My first post on March 6th 2000

Mick Martyn plays the game hard.. and fair enough. I don't regard him as a "dirty" player at least not any more than many others going around, whose names haven't come up here. Simon Black says the injury inflicted on him in last years preliminary final was in his view, an accident. Whether he truly believes that I don't know. I was at the preliminary final and the actual incident wasn't far away from where I was seated and I saw nothing to suggest that it was done deliberately or that Martyn should have been reported. I also thought the shirtfront on John Blakey (a favorite player of mine being an old Fitzroyboy) was perfectly legal as well and the player who delivered that shouldn't have been reported.

I also agree with Royboy about Merrett and of course about the great Kevin Murray.

The player I believe is the "dirtiest" in the game at the moment (in terms of using unfair tactics to gain an advantage and I don't include sledging) is Libba.

As to good old LongJohn, well you may think that all Lions supporters are whingers, well we lost that preliminary final last year fair and square. North were clearly the better team. The only thing I'm dirty on (and I'm sure the majority of football supporters, whatever their club would agree, especially if you've seen the replay and compared to others that weren't reported or suspended) is the suspension meted out to Chris Scott before that match. I still firmly believe it was probably the greatest inconsistent, unjust judgement made at the tribunal all year.
