First Round Draft Pick

Curious on wether you guys thought any of Lonie,Egan or Holland and our second rounder would be worth a gamble and trading your first rounder on?

Which is silly. If Mark Blake, for instance, was to decide he couldn't stay at Geelong after being left out of the premiership side, we'd be lining up to throw pick 11 at them.

It's just a draft pick like any other. It has an overstated market value, being a first rounder, and it's only function is to get us one player closer to a premiership side.

I see what you're saying but IMO Mark Blake is not worth that much.
Remember the last time we recruited Geelong's No.3 ruckman?
I'd consider 29 or whatever our second rounder was as he is better than Chambers, but like Chambers, doesn't get a lot of the footy around the ground.
As for Jolly, as I'm sure you'd use him in this argument, I was surprised when we paid 15 for him, but that decision turned out right so I would be happy to be proven wrong.

I'd prefer we tried to get Darcy Daniher at 11.

LOL at the idea of Holland or Lonie being worth anything close to a first rounder. Egan is the only one worthy of discussion since he does look to have flair and skill. Not convinced he's worth a first round pick, though, given that there must be some questions on whether he's really committed to becoming the best he can be. Even with your 2nd round pick thrown in, doesn't sound overly enticing.

In any case, not sure our first round pick is that much value to you in a Judd trade. It might have been for Melbourne to supplement the no 4 they already have. But I suspect WC are going to want as close to a top 5 pick from the Pies in addition to your first and probably second round picks.
