Scribes saying Mitchell Owen was nerveless during his debut knock. The Tasmanian debutant refutes that saying it was in fact his batting partner Cameron Green who was the nerveless man by keeping him calm and grounded thruout his innings.

Dont see a thread for the current A series in Darwin. Has George and the panel missed an ideal chance to blood for this series one of pacers Mahli Beardman, Charlie Anderson, Callum Vidler, or all three, given our ageing present pace triumvirate and the fact that many pundits have the three 20 yr olds as a probable future Baggy Greens pace attack. Am adding off spinner Raf MacMillan and left armer Liam Haskett too.
Yeah I agree BGman perfect opportunity for beardman Anderson and Vidler ..they are the future

he was picked off a trash BBL season last year anyway, bloke is a hack

I remember some bloke blowing smoke up his arse a while back…think his name was Ponting…

Ricky is losing his marbles lol

JFM had a monster IPL for Ricky’s team which explains why he rates him.

He has great balance, is a natural ball striker and has a great eye so there’s definitely something there. He needs to sort his technique and mindset a bit but he’s only 23.

I think the ship has sailed on a red ball career though.

Certainly wasn’t the most recent IPL that’s for sure, so if you put his last few T20 Tournaments together, I’d be thinking he’s in trouble for the next IPL

He will never do squat with that technique and belting some park cricketers one season in the ipl doesn’t change that. The bloke is terrible there’s a reason his average across every form is awful

The IPL is the best T20 comp in the world. The players he belted around include Cummins, Boult, Bumrah and Ashwin plus a stack of other bowlers with international experience.

Obviously he has work to do but he’s only 23, can clearly play, but he could be a serious weapon for our white ball set up in the next 15 years.

Australia has a ready made tourist for Asia, Aussie A skipper Jason Sangha. The former Blue has today posted a double century in the unofficial Test in Darwin and looked as composed as I have ever seen from him, against both pace and spin. In fact he makes playing quality spin look as comfortable as any Aussie Test batsman that I have seen. In the past we Aussies have floundered in Asia because we allow their spinners to dominate due to our lack of technique and inability to problem solve. Sangha does problem solve by turning the pressure back onto the bowler in both attack and defense. In fact, I doubt there is anyone presently playing in shield that comes close to his almost perfect defense, with firstly good footwork to get to the pitch, then head over the ball and with an angled bat to smother the turn.
Is the kid drowned by self expectation when thrown into first class cricket at a tender 18 yrs, about to finally realize his full potential at a mature 25.

When he first came on the scene he looked like a star, was always confused why he didn’t kick on. It looks like it’s starting to click for him now though.
