Slight qualificatio.
We lived in Perth in the early 80s and my granny knocked about with some of the expat Zimbos there, she said they seemed to spend most of their time bemoaning their lack of maids and gardeners.

Sad but classic.

I was in South Africa for the cricket and election in 1994 and the running gag was that the hardest place to find a car park in the country was outside the Australian Embassy in Pretoria.

Joh Bjelke Pietersen went out of his way in the 80s to encourage white Saffies and Zimbots to rock into Queensland.

I can also recall Downer saying Saffie farmers need only hop on a plane and apply for residency. This was at the height of the boats saga.

Warner has always been a liability in Ashes in Pomgolia. Should not be allowed near a plane

Hey he's better than Harris at least. Normally I'd agree but the depth isn't saying "please pick me"

Doubt it in Pomgolia.

Warner is Mitch Marsh levels of woeful in Pomgolia.

Would back any bog standard opener to do a better job.

Windies requested a lower strength opponent.
If they did then they under estimated the depth of Australian cricket as these rookie level cricketers are giving them one hell of a shock. Oliver Davies who mauled the Windies Test attack yesterday is yet to play any senior cricket for his state, likewise Jack Attenborough. That may change.
Canberra's Blake MacDonald took the steadier route finishing 76* at stumps.

MacDonald adds to Davies' maximum with one of his own on morning of the third day. It was a calculated knock that anchored things while Davies was smashing balls to all parts. This demolition of the Windies Test attack must have their brains trust tearing out their hair with embarrassment.
Will the NAX skipper declare behind to make a game of it or bat on and make a statement by topping the Windies score.

Will Blues selectors now take a look at not only Davies and Attenborough but MacDonald too. My state certainly needs some new batting blood.

An impresive NAX scorecard at lunch on final day.

NAX has pipped the Windies score and declared at 4/426, MacDonald top scoring with a polished 177*. Windies already one down as they attempt to set the greenhorns something to chase this arvo hopefully for an exciting finish.

Windies batted on and game has been called. I'd say with the NAX boys scoring more runs and taking more wickets than their international opposition, the points go to them. Windies need to now re group for the PMX1 match on the 23rd.

Do tell.

Andrews will win FYI.
He must be eager with anticipation to bring back mask mandates or something now a few people have a sniffle

More than likely even more comfortably than the Australians should beat the Windies going by the tour match.

Testament to what a shit job he and Cummins are doing respectively, I suppose. :$

Jhye for england please ...and no starc in the squad for england ??

Saw a sticker of the South African apartheid-era flag on a car in Thursday...

I accidentally drew an apartheid South African flag once as a kid, because it was in an outdated encyclopaedia.

Not a big deal, except my teacher was from South Africa, so that made things a bit awkward...

Looks like a very weak ACT/NSW side, surely we can give the touring side a better hit-out than that.
The trend of home sides not giving touring sides good prep is garbage.
bloody hard to win a test match in foreign conditions, let alone with poor preparation. It's no wonder we see so many one sided matches, by the time the touring side gets into their groove, the series is over.

yeah gone are the days of a fully fledged tour - fly straight in and out pretty much.

not sure why they cant have 3 T20's and 3 odi's and a first class game as a lead up to the test series 9 i know all test players don't play the white ball stuff but yeah).

that way as well there would be less touring as teams would only have to tour 2 countries during their winter.
