Which players do u think will have a breakout first year
Powell-Pepper, McGrath, Petrevski Seton all come to mind, heck even Tom Stewart from Geelong can become the new Ruggles
Can't see Taranto playing much, don't reckon Ainsworth is that good IMO

Anyone who do you think might have a breakout year

I think Powell-Pepper, McGrath, Petrevski-Seton will too.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Sydney draftees Jack Maibaum and Robbie Fox (if he is elevated from the rookie list) have a quick impact for the Swans. Those come to mind right now.

Powell Pepper is ready for an instant impact.
From the Eagles Wiri (W.Rioli) could impress if he can string some games together he is mature age has played SANFL and has already impressed Simpson this pre-season.

Word is Rioli is the stand out for WC in the early stages, depending on JLT, may even play round 1. WC haven't had a crumber for years, so be great to see him out there twisting and slotting a few. Could be a gun.

Quick question how come u don't think Ainsworth is any good?

Not Biased but McCluggage is killing it at training Fagan even said himself how impressed he was with how he was going for a first year player
That's like the standard line for coaches regarding new draftees.

I'll have a ping at each club's best first year performer.

Adelaide: Myles Poholke
Brisbane: Hugh McCluggage
Carlton: Sam Petrevski-Seton
Collingwood: Callum Brown
Essendon: Andrew McGrath
Fremantle: Luke Ryan
Geelong: Brandan Parfitt
Gold Coast: Will Brodie
GWS Giants: Will Setterfield
Hawthorn: Mitchell Lewis (for the lols)
Melbourne: Dion Johnstone
North Melbourne: Jy Simpkin
Port Adelaide: Sam Powell-Pepper
St Kilda: Ben Long
Sydney Swans: Ollie Florent
West Coast: Willie Rioli Jr
Western Bulldogs: Patrick Lipinski

Tim taranto seems to be the one for us. Training well and loaded with the talent. Even though we played Hopper, Matt Kennedy and Himmelburg as debutants last year, I think it will be tough for him this year.

This is a serious year for us, and anyone from the draft will have to prove themselves best 22 beyond any doubt in my view. In previous years blooding players so they know what it takes made sense, not so much this year.

Ryan Garthwaite and Blake Grewar...remember the names!
I have watched Blake play for Redlands for the past couple of years, and as much as I rated him at NEAFL level, he is gonna have a lot of guys ahead of him, even at the Lions. I do hope for his sake that he gets an opportunity, just not sure that he will. For what it's worth, he was never at the level Josh Smith was when they were both running through the midfield for Redlands.

Kids going to be a superstar, Chris is a top quality judge ... I still remeber his days with the Demons ... when Chris spoke you listened.

McCluggage should have been pick 1.

Why didn't you guys take him at 2 then?
